Regarding the $7500 credit. Buyers must have a tax liability equal to or exceeding $7500 to qualify. Many retired individuals have little or no federal tax liability, and therefore those buyers will pay the full purchase price. It is a shame too; retired American tend to drive less so home charging an EV would be a perfect fit for their lifestyle.
If you have a 401K you can do a Ross conversion to bump up your tax liability for that year and afterwards enjoy tax-free income from the Roth without minimum distribution requirements!
EV cars No Brainers of those who drive; You will have Testes Cancer in three-four years walking like a dog without tail SHAMED on you BJ. Please correct me if I am wrong Thks
The regen just a day or two, but learning the UI and everything a Tesla can do more like a week..but while there are a few things you might have to look up, it's still a car and works like a car 🙂
I do not agree with @FrugalNotCheap : I used to drive ICE vehicule for decades (manual and automatic shift)...the regen, it is "really" surprising the couple of first times you release the gas pedal (and expecting the car would continue instead of breaking), but really, after 1 hour ou 2 max, it becomes so natural (it is even suprising that other bands add a ton of options to try to modify the regen, stronger, weaker, ....) the car control through just the "gas" pedal is so smooth. For the user interface, just use it a couple of minutes with the car parked, go through the different menu and it is done. Once you understand the "concept", it becomes intuitive and user friendly
IMO, maybe a day. Acceleration is ridiculous, so you may want to start off by putting it in "chill mode". The wife's Model Y awd brakes harder than my Model 3 RWD, so I have to reprogram my muscle memory every time I drive her car. The UI is always changing, so you'll want to go review the changes after each update. Sometimes it's just bug fixes, but it's usually UI improvements, like giving us the option of enlarging the font. Test drives are easy to schedule and are totally pressure free (the cars sell themselves). 30 minutes or so for you to drive wherever you want by yourself and friend or SO.
Great work. Consider getting a wireless microphone system so you can move around freely without getting tangled. I've seen people use Hollyland LARK M1, about 99$
All vehicles NEED to have Wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto …. if Not > that is a deal breaker. TESLA refuses to incorporate these invaluable features. It is up to you if you can safely drive without Car Play, etc. Disappointed in TESLA for their decision.

Traditional IRA to Roth IRA, need to make sure this won't affect any other income-based programs though!

About how long would you say it takes for someone to get used to just the driving differences?

Honestly i used to think that. Never one time needed either. Plus most things apple car play has tesla has it
It's not a deal-breaker for me I never had it.
I haven't tried Android Auto in a few years, and never CarPlay...what can they do that the Tesla UI can't (besides Siri and Assistant)?
same, its a deal breaker for me with no Apple car play. I cancelled my order because of that and leather seat quality.
