I went over all of my costs from 50,000 miles of owning my 2022 Long Range Tesla Model 3. These costs include charging, maintenance, and insurance. I showed the data of how much I paid and versus how much I saved by driving a Tesla and by not driving a gas car.
Obviously, charging is cheaper than getting gas, but the amount of how much cheaper it is may surprise you. Insurance, at least with Tesla insurance, is also cheaper than what an average gas car pays for insurance. Also, the maintenance on my Tesla has been very minimal. I am still on my original tires.

I have the model Y and the biggest cost is insurance and depreciation.
This guy must have free insurance for his charging to be the most expensive bill 😂
My insurance is cheap!
Let’s compare to my RAV4 hybrid. Similar luxury with a limited version, but it’s an AWD SUV. Cost $39k, and currently KBB is $29k. $10k depreciation. Current KBB for Tesla is $27 K. At best, the depreciation is about $25k. 52k miles at 34 mpg is about $5k. My only maint has been the 3 oil, changes and rotations I had to pay for. About $400. Insurance has been about Put my total cost about $1500 per year. Total cost, $15,400. Just the depreciation alone on the Tesla is $10k more than the total cost to drive the RAV4. It isn’t even close which is less expensive to own. I like Tesla. My house is powered by Tesla, and I absolutely love it. I could charge the car for virtually nothing, and it would cost more than my Toyota to operate.
@@jonkrispeterson6678 why not just buy a Tesla 2022 model y used with 30k to 40k miles for $27k ? .. lol The idiots are the ones that bought the car at that high ass price lol Same thing goes for the people who bought homes at the peak LOL Or the people who bought stocks at the PEAK & lost it all lol
@@esehavek1 That’s a good question, recently I rented a model 3 with 20k miles on it, as we needed a car for a week. The first part was an annoyance. It didn’t come with a charger. (I had people stay with us who had rented a Tesla, it came with the charger, and we were able to plug it in to our solar system). I thought, “Hey, that’s pretty slick”. No charger, so we had to use the nearest supercharger near our home. It’s 20 minutes away. I knew to only charge to 80%, which showed 220 miles. Must have been a M3 standard range. But we would drive it 100 miles, and be down to 20%. We had the car for 4 days, and had to charge it 5 times. That really soured me on buying a used one. For sure I would never buy a used rental car. I realize it was just one experience, but it was enough to sour both myself and my wife on one.
im driving a Diesel car, and i live in Germany, i was watching like A LOT of Tesla owners videos, and i can say 100% that your video was better and show me real stuf what i wanted to know! Good job, and from now one im folowing you!
@@chatchingbutterflies5280 appreciate that thank you!
What’s crazier is if you compare the Maint costs to a gas car performance equivalent. Considering your Tesla performs like a high performance sports car.
I know, crazy
My 2014 Q50 is faster on a straight AND around corners. Model 3s don’t perform like high performance vehicles.
@@imakesbeatz are you just... saying that? Or do you have data? An anecdote where you destroyed a Model 3 on a circuit course? lol
@@imakesbeatz Link to your Q50? I'd like to see it do below 12 seconds in the quarter mile.
I genuinely don’t understand peoples uproar about depreciation values, every car depreciates, some faster than others, but if you basically plan on keeping a car until the wheels fall off, that shouldn’t really matter. Isn’t the point of financing/owning a tesla is the longevity of it?
They only depreciate more cause the price of new ones have dropped so much. Not good for old owners, but great for new buyers. But people need a reason to bate
It matters because most people don't keep their car forever. They want use their current car to make a down payment for their next car. In that regard, Toyota / lexus is king.
Be ready for that 700+ registration fee every year.
In Vegas. Insurance can actually help lower your rate if you go with the Tesla insurance if you really take the time to improve your driving score. I have full coverage for 100 bucks, where the minimum for the same coverage at other companies were $262
If you get the tax credit, a long range model 3 still comes out to be over 40k because of taxes. There’s also a Tesla registration fee.
If you want the long range base model 3 you should expect to pay 42-45k
Haha oh we know!
No biggie
No 700 registration fee here in Florida
I called around today for insurance quotes on a Tesla. Nail in the coffin for me not getting one. $466/mo for insurance. No tickets. A single accident and i was not at fault. Seems very wild.
That’s 3x what I pay. That’s crazy
just get TESLA insurance. dont get insurance outside of tesla. I only pay $180 for 2 drivers on tesla insurance.
"A fool and his money are soon separated".
Golden words to live by.
Had the same reaction when we got a quote for a used Model 3. Until insurance comes down on them there really is no savings going electric.
Glad to see your subs above 5K Fam! Let’s go to 10K!! 🎉
Thank you! ❤️
What is it about a Tesla that makes you want to put so many miles on them? My wife's Model Y has 30k in 10 months. My Model Y has 10k in 4 months.
Haha! Road trips!
My model 3 has 11k miles in 6 months. I’ve done so many long road trips 😂 great car.
The fact that you know how cheap charging is. 😂
Interestingly, I was talking about tyres today. I've done 30k miles on original M3 tyres and still going strong . So much for Tesla is heavy on tyres
More EV is driven the lower the overall costs is
As both a driver and owner of a Tesla and a gas vehicle, I can say that the Tesla is fast, fun to drive, and cheaper to maintain and operate when charging at home. However, the ride comfort is below average for long road trips, and the insurance is expensive, along with very high annual registration fees. Additionally, equivalent gas vehicles are often more affordable for road trips. Many people don't realize that public charging is quite costly, usually more expensive than fueling a comparable gas vehicle when you factor in cost per mile. Also, the Tesla app's comparison of gas versus electric costs is inaccurate.(I live in Midwest for reference)
Insurance and registration is very dependent on a lot of other things
@@vegasteslafamily Right, insurance vary on coverage and options of what is covered. But would identical insurance coverage costs differently from one state to another? Yes, DMV registration is 3/4/5 times higher than an ICE vehicle or hybrid. That also depends on the BS add-on state fees.
We use Tesla at our driving school. Our insurance is $14,000/year. Yes, $14,000. Berkshire Homestead has monopoly over commercial car insurance specific for driving schools. It’s counterintuitive but driving schools have actually less accidents. In 25 years we had zero accidents. I really wished Tesla offered commercial car insurance. They offer a “business” insurance but it’s not commercial.
That’s a unique circumstance for sure but that’s is insane!
@@vegasteslafamilyMicro businesses or small businesses have zero chance against the big corporations. $14,000/year is insane but that’s how they use data mining and AI to find vulnerable businesses. I have contacted the department of insurance here in California but they don’t consider that a monopoly. Even though the only company offers it is Berkshire (GEICO, infinity, Allstate, Biberk, etc…they all go to Berkshire.)
As a result few driving schools have gone out of business, many instructors are now out of work despite heavy demand. So I had no choice to raise our rates. Feel bad for parents, but it’s either higher rates or not offering any lessons at all.
Sad part is my instructors need and deserve that money a lot more than Berkshire who is totally taking advantage of micro businesses with no voice.
@@vegasteslafamilyYes. Big corporations take advantage of vulnerable small businesses. They use data mining and AI. Many schools have already gone out of business despite strong demand. $14,000/year!! I contacted department of insurance and a person who couldn’t even speak proper English said they can’t do anything. GEICO, biberk, redwood, infinity…etc…they all go through Berkshire. Sad days for consumers. I had to raise my rates and parents are shocked…$747 for 6 hours of instruction.
I purchased my Tesla MYP early last year. I am a CPA, and I crunched the numbers prior to making my purchase for around $58,000. With the nonrefundable tax credit of $7500, that brought me down to $50,500. I purchased the vehicle through my company, which allows additional front loaded depreciation. That brings the total net cost down to about $40,000. I am saving about $1200 per year in gas, an average of $1000 a year in oil changes and repair costs as I had a BMW prior. I am also saving $60 per month in insurance, since Tesla‘s are cheaper to insure. If I keep my Tesla for eight years, my total cost of ownership is $220 per month. Don’t listen to all of the Tesla haters, this vehicle is a workhorse and many people are over 200,000 miles without having to replace anything beyond the tires. A Tesla is a good investment if you hold onto it for at least five years, preferably eight. The problem is everybody wants the latest car, so they buy new cars and sell them two years later for a big loss. That has nothing to do with Tesla, and more to do with people’s poor lifestyle choices. Most people are financially illiterate.
This is an awesome comment, thank you. Unfortunately those who need to hear it won’t be reading it
I don't take most comments at face value with these kinds of things because there are so many factors that are often overlooked. I find it hard to believe that you have 52000 miles on your tires on your Tesla. Weight is a huge factor in tire wear. All the Tesla owners I know say they go through tires like they are going out of style. Generically tires last 30% fewer miles than equivalent gas cars driven the same because of the extra weight due to the battery pack in them.
Supercharging is nasty expensive. I ran some numbers. If you only charged at home you would indeed save on fueling up costs. But if you charged on the road it gets way more expensive. Charging is apx. 3-6 times more costly when you have to pay superchargers for the electricity.
Except for the battery, there is little else you have to maintain on an EV. However that battery gobbles up a ton of those savings shown in these figures. I dare say it may exceed them when you have to replace the battery pack. And that calculation is not shown anywhere. Granted the battery may last between 8-12 years. But it is also diminished in performance and distance as it starts to go down, just like batteries do.
When I ran some hard numbers I found an EV was a great car for local driving cost wise. But on the road it suffered a lot in higher costs to charge and so on. There are many pros and cons with EV's. The biggest con is the battery and charging situation. Which reminds me too, you never factored a cost in charging times. That has to account for something vs. just filling up the gas tank and back on the road.
In the past there used to be a way to figure what the overall cost of ownership of a vehicle was per mile. I'd like to see those realistic charts and then compare apples to apples, total cost of ownership. If EVs can ever mature their charging/batteries to be faster and better cost, there's no reason they shouldn't be more affordable. But currently they are not. Not to mention the fire safety of EV's, insane crazy dangerous compared to gas cars. Insurances have started to adjust for that. Some insurances won't insure your house if you are charging EVs in your garage because of these dangers. Yet another huge ding for needing better technology in the battery and charging of EVs. Tesla has about the safest car that way but is not immune to the problems of fire. I'll stop here. Waiting for matured batteries and charging for EVs before I get more excited.
I was in the market for a Tesla, but after researching the financial aspect of the vehicle I discovered a lot of negative failures. You failed to mention the most important issue with Tesla. Your resale value will drop after three years over 50%, but my ford will only depreciate 25%. And I find it hard to believe that with over 50,000 miles your Continental tires aren’t bald. What about the cost of installing the charger outlet in the garage. My first three oil changes and tire rotation were free, also included windshield wiper fluid. After that it cost me $60 for a oil change and tire rotation at GoodYear. I don’t see the savings. Oh and on a road trip it will only take me a couple of mins to fuel up. How long does it take a Tesla?
Sounds like you were not in the market, or did some terrible research. And didn't watch this video. Resale is low because the price of new ones has dropped - great for new owners. My tires are at 54k, doing well. I showed them. No need to install an outlet in the garage - i charge on a 120v. We've taken 3 cross country road trips. If you use the restroom and eat like a human, it doesn't add much time at all.
If you plan on reselling after three years, then sure the vehicle resell price would be down like any other ICE vehicles. However, the current cost of the new MYLR for example is has been hovering around $48k. Thus the refresh MY would make the current models depreciate just like any vehicles. So if you think of buying a similar model above, wait until after the refresh and pay attention to the prices and interest rates if you plan on financing.
Regarding road trips, don't you stop to eat, take restroom breaks, etc? For road trips, you can search for Tesla Superchargers nearby. If you use the navigation, the software will direct you to a SC along the route you're on. You can charge to 80% which take only 20-30 minutes or to 100% which would add another 20 minutes due to lower charge wattage above 80%.
@@Steve-sx2tr I’ll comfortable disagree, .5 hrs to charge fully, or less @80 recommended, 345mi, i am ready to rest stretch legs and eat a bite, but dont be fooled.NOTHING COCERNING TRANSPORTATION “is free”. You paid for it when you purchased you car/truck, it just isn’t ala-carted so you see it, yes oil changes are 60-70bucks, and the tesla is far more comfortable than any GAS GUZZLER
@@Sluggo01 5 hours to charge fully? Maybe at home overnight with a level 2 charger. But if you charge at a SuperCharger, it will take by average 20 minutes depending if low your battery is. The lower percentage you're at the faster it charges.
@@ArthurManon-z9w look again. .5 hr. =30 min
Real saving is about 20% of your number, but depreciation on that TMY will wipe it out completely.
Depreciation only if you sell!
This is a great comparison and I will still stick to gas. Not saying that I hate electric cars, in fact I love them. The problem is where I live I do not have access to be able to charge at home. Therefore I will have to rely on the supercharging network/public chargers out there. In your comparison supercharging was a lot more expensive than charging at home, which is great for those who can charge at home. Not so great for those who can't. Our hybrid lasts us two months before needing to go back to the gas station to refill. I don't get the hate between gas and electric, both cars are different and suit people depending on their needs. In my case electric would be worse since I cannot charge at home. Great video!
This is fair. The comparison changes a lot when you can’t charge at home obviously. Takes a whole lot of the convenience out of it. To each their own!
Right now I’m trying to buy a used Tesla model 3 they go for 17k-19k at Tesla used cars around 20-50k miles. I’m trying to buy one because year of 2024 I owe a lot of taxes and every week I fill up on gas twice in one week. I drive a four cylinder but just imagining how much money I can save on gas and then that $4,000 tax deduction. Tesla offers around 290 a month payments which is way less than what I spend on gas.
Yup! Used is always the way to go in this case. We’ve got a video coming out this week that will hopefully help you out!
In California PG&E rates are among the highest in the country. In Nevada the rate for electricity is around $.14 per kilowatt……
Crazy!
Nice video. I really thought you had an ICE vehicle you're comparing the cost to. People like to brag about EV's costing less, but that saving comes in the short term. My question to all EV owners would be, how does that cost compare after 10 to 15 yrs. of ownership. (Both mileage and time considered)
We own a 07 Toyota Camry XLE w/165K plus miles and a 01 Dodge Grand Caravan EX w/349K plus miles. Our Camry gets 29 to 34 MPG and our DGC gets 17 to 23 MPG.
I do all of my own maintenance, so we save a lot of money. With basic yearly maintenance, here is a cost breakdown for both vehicles.
01 DGC EX:
1) Oil/filter change - every 10K using fully synthetic motor oil and filter (2 per year) - $108
2) Wipers (3) - $90
3) Air filter - $8
4) Cabin Filter - $14
5) Tire Rotation - Free
6) Insurance (Comprehensive Coverage) - $726
7) Windshield Washer Fluid (3 gal.) - $12
8) Car payment - $0
Total yearly cost - $958
07 TC XLE
1) Oil/filter change - every 5K using fully synthetic motor oil and filter (1 per year) - $35
2) Wipers (2) - $60
3) Air filter - $10
4) Cabin Filter - $12
5) Tire Rotation - Free
6) Insurance (Full Coverage) - $2,528
7) Car payment - $0
Total yearly cost - $2645
Fuel for both vehicles in 2023 was $4,105 and in 2024 is $3,250.
No to be far, I didn't include Trans. fluid and filter change, coolant, power steering and brake fluid flush. These are not done every year, but at a higher mileage. Also, not included are the things that break or wear out. (Alternator, battery, hoses, sensors, etc) These come with age at a higher mileage
We don’t own any ICE vehicle!
Doesn’t the cost of the vehicle itself also need to be accounted for here? Buying a Tesla itself is a lot of money.
I didn’t include it. But it’s less expensive than the average new car today
what is the tesla app basing gas prices on? what type of car and gas mileage it has will affect the cost of gas.
25mpg, gas prices in nevada

Awesome, very informative and helpful video. You should also do another video at 100,000 miles again. If people can get the price you bought it at, that's how much it's depreciated from and you would have to get a few quotes and look at private sell prices. Tesla trade-in would be the worst deal.

Thanks for sharing. I followed the exact prompt you used to ask ChatGPT for maintenance costs after 52 K, but I got only between $1200 and $1600. I even added Las Vegas, where you said you are, and got a bit higher range, $1500 and $2000, but still very low compared to your range.
Can’t explain that one lol idk
Very informative. My next car will be a Tesla. But I think it is important to include the depreciation cost. I don't understand why Teslas depreciate so much, considering they feel like new for do long. But it is important to present the facts.
Anyway, cool video. Good luck with the channel 👍
Good point. A big part of the depreciation is likely due to the cost of new Teslas coming down so much. When you can buy a new M3 Long Range for
@@opinionator3884 Exactly. You beat to it sir, prices for new models going down and tax credit is huge for a new buyer.
Also, batteries life shortening may be a concern for new customers, and we don't have data for 10+yo cars yet.
Mentioned already, but the reason for depreciation is cause of the new prices. Great for new buyers, not so much for current owners
They don’t depreciate that much. The previous year Tesla’s were simply overpriced and so the market adjusted.
A Model 3 in 2022 was like $55k out the door for a car that was worth $35k at best (based on comparable gas counterparts).
So you would have paid $20k of brand premium which has zero value given Tesla caters to the mass market rather than an exclusive club.
The only reason why they depreciate a little more is only because Tesla is continuing to offer a better car for cheaper. The prices have come down over time which then brings down the used market with it. That being said for the M3 and Y those haven't seen as much of a drop off as the S and X's did.
The other thing that Tesla gave you was proof of your car being hit. I had a similar issue, returning to my 2 month old M3 RWD and finding the front bumper badly damaged. The offender had driven off and now witnesses. Reviewing the video showed the whole event. So no cost to me and I had a Tesla as a replacement car. Had it been another car it would not have saved me. I would have lost no claims, paid for repairs via the excesses and not had a replacement car. Good savings for you and I am saving a fortune on fuel in the UK, it is roughly 10% the cost of buying fuel.
@@Jaw0lf this is also a good point. Sentry mode is a life saver

@ Been a long while since I was last in Vegas, but I do have two quick questions: Does the coolant for the battery ever need to be replaced at any point and how much does the regen braking replacement cost? Typically not replaced till after 100K?
Not sure how he saved $2000 on maintenance cost. I myself own a hybrid car. 7 years of ownership 170,000 miles so far. I have spent $1870 for oil changes at the dealership, $700 for all new brakes and rotors, on my 2nd set of new tires cost me $1350, $35 for a set of wipers. Spent $15000 on gas average cost $4 per gallon. Total $18955. Every 50000 miles cost me $5575. That's only a $327 difference
Because we are comparing to a normal gas car not a hybrid car that apparently exists and lasts forever
We just bought a MYLR thanks for the video dude
Congrats!! ⚡️
Installation of the home charger and charging equipment is also should be on the expenses , since you don’t buy any equipment to the gas car to fill up a tank)
Maybe, but for us our charger came with the car and we just use a standard outlet!

A Corolla is more comparable in terms of size with the model 3, mpg combined is of 35 and 50 when hybrid. At 35 the gas cost is around $5.5k
At 50, gas is $3.8k

Great vid. I have a quick question: Does the 'total spent' shown on the Tesla app account for charging inefficiency? For example, if I have a 10 kWh battery and it takes 12 kWh of electricity to charge fully (because even wired charging comes with some inefficiency) , is the 'total spent' reflecting the 10 kWh used by the battery or the full 12 kWh consumed during charging? I paying 12 kWh worth of electricity to my electricity provider.
Hmm I’m not sure to be honest, good question.
Do you not consider the amortization of the cost of the car? Cause the initial price is more significant that most gas powered cars.
Model 3 and Y are cheaper than the average sedan/SUV tofay
Are you able to use any type of tires on the Tesla? The ones I have on my gas vehicle is the average tire but they can do 64,000 mi so they are little thicker.
Yeah! There’s some tires that brand themselves as EV tires but any tire that’s the right size will work. People like to say that teslas are heavier and require special tires. They’re heavier than the average car sure, but there’s a lot of gas vehicles heavier than teslas too.
@vegasteslafamily yeah that is true, I am thinking about getting a Tesla for my second vehicle next year I've noticed the model 3 are really at a good price for the used ones they are only a couple years old
Great job detailing the estimates for your costs.
Missing the biggest factor in depreciation.
Second biggest factor is what’s the car comparison?
A nice Toyota or Honda sedan is not going to cost almost 50K like dual motor model 3. It will also not lose 50% of the value by year 3 of ownership.
assuming $3.50 per gallon.
Newer Tesla’s don’t depreciate nearly as much! Old ones do only because the price of the newer ones has come down so much
Great write off of depreciation for businesses
Then buy a 3 year Tesla at 50% off. You need to compare one sports EV to another EV.

@vegasteslafamily I live in Kentucky they charge an extra fee on your license tabs if you drive an electric vehicle. You don't pay the road taxes the people pay when they buy fuel.
I don't understand how it compares it with gas if I got a model 3 performance and I'm doing supercar numbers then what in a gas equivalent get 10 mi per gallon or less?
Model 3 performance is very efficient unless you are driving like a maniac. That apply to almost any car
Cost breakdown sounds reasonable, it is possible could save a bit doing your own maintenance. But then there is the hassle of doing that. Having an EV you don't worry about putting high milage on them because the cost to charge is so cheap. My next car will be a Tesla for sure.

I think one thing to add is the Tesla factory is in Austin Texas, in the US. As of today, its the only one thats fully in the US, no unions, and their warranty is better than most ICE cars ive seen. Their Software stack is 10x way more advanced than any other car at the moment. They have FSD years beyond any car manufacturer. Over the air updates. not like ford where you gotta bring it in. additionally, youre getting the safety. meaning it will not rollover since the battery is underneath. additionally, the supercharger network. Name 1 other car manufacturer that has a supercharger network? and honestly, im tired of car dealerships price gauging me and haggling me, id rather just get it online. So I think youre no doubt getting a great vehicle as of today, but that could eventually change once others catchup. Lets see who can catch up.
This is all true. Excited for the Tesla future
I like my Tesla Y
Love it!
For your insurance with Tesla, how many miles do you claim to drive a year?
It automatically does this for is. It was 25k+ for awhile until we got the Y because it used to be our road tripper
if you have low insurance costs, it would be lower on a gas car. You would need to check with your own insurance company.
I had progressive in my Kia and it was more expensive than Tesla insurance for my model 3
Why did you exclude the car registration fee?
Maybe should have included it
I always see comments about registration fees, I have a model Y and in Canada it’s $120 a year or $86 usd. Is registration in USA really as high as I have heard?

@@vegasteslafamily wow! That just blows my mind that it’s so much cheaper here.
If you paid that much why didn’t you mention it in the video….. oh because your channel is based on viewers, watching Tesla content…
It depends on the state. Some states are adding EV registration. The $1,000 is for 4 years.
Is registration in the US / Canada similar to road tax in the UK which we pay annually? My Infinity EX30 was £600 per year and my Tesla is £0. (Free for EVs but that going to change in April 25, we will all pay £190 pa). On the subject of insurance mine went from £500 to £980 for the Tesla 3, that said the value is £25k to insure based on 8k annual miles vs £2k value and same miles. Tesla insurance in the UK is a joke, nobody uses them eg for my age group it’s £2700 pa… 😢
Great video! What is your at home electricity rate plan for charging? Mine is .11 cents per kWh. We don’t have off peak hours option. Wondering if that would affect prices greatly or not.

Not bad!
Thanks for putting this together. I am looking to potentially take the ev plunge, BUT this is a bad comparison. The numbers chatgpt gave you include ALL gas vehicles instead of just NEW ones like your tesla. I've bought nothing but new cars over the past 2 decades, and none of them have cost me anywhere near 500 in their first 60K miles (total). They've all come with free oil changes, maintenance, etc. for the first 3 years, too. Gas is also highly variable - the west and east coasts tend to be more expensive, while the Midwest and South are much cheaper - it just hit $2.80 /gallon in my area.
That’s fair - for simplicity sake for a UA-cam video, I don’t know a better way to pull general numbers. My previous gas car cost me about $2k in maintenance at that point
That was an excellent comparison to an Escalade. I can beat every one of your numbers with my Camry hybrid. And it cost's 30% less to acquire. This is the first Tesla I've seen go that many miles on a tire. And since I live in an apartment I can fill up at any gas station in less then 5 minutes.
It’s also a Camry hybrid. And that’s 5 minutes more than it takes me to plug in every day!
We have a Rav4 hybrid and a Y Performance. I don't look forward to driving my hybrid. I never get tired of the Tesla. Take my daughter to softball games like a family car and dust Camaros at the stop light if need be. I literally trickle charge, level 1, every night and I maintain a 200 mile or greater daily.
Really? Because you live in an apartment you can fill up at any gas station in less than 5 minutes? Please, take a video and post it here for us!
I want to see you with a stopwatch, you get in your car at your apartment, and then go fill up at any gas station and do it all in less than 5 minutes. Of course 'fill up' should mean at least, what, 12 gallons? Normally I would say to keep the stopwatch running until you get back home, but I will give you that time.
Answer back here with a link to the video for us please. Oh, and if you don't mind showing the price per gallon too that would be great!
I wonder what if any savings would be in California with electricity being outrageously overpriced. A hybrid would probably cost less to own. But I don't know since I haven't calculated it.
Good point but idk about that
Are you comparing to a same size Gas car. Your car looks the size of Camry or Accord.
For those insurance would be same.
A 25mpg car!
My model Y is 4 months old since I Bought it and I put 20K miles already

Wow, that’s 166 miles per day x 7 days per week. The average driver does 8000 miles per year or 166 miles per week..
The sooner FSD is perfected the better, then you could at least get some sleep whilst at the wheel 😅. Drive safe bro!
Good video. But I think comparison should've been to a comparable vehicle not average cost. I probably would've used a BMW 3 series as it is comparable in price and size. Just my thought.
Ha! Most people would poop on Tesla if I compared it to a BMW
Tesla uses price for premium in the app, which is OK for X/S but misleading for 3/Y. In MA regular at Costco is $1.2 cheaper than Tesla price currently. Can't belive a "reviewer" didn't know this.
Sorry I’m not familiar with Costco gas prices in Massachusetts!
Which app? On the Tesla website you can calculate the savings by inputting your own gas price and electricity costs so you get a true representation of the savings.
My savings usually seem to be around $1000 per year
My previous BMW X3 and 3 series used premium gas. Each person's electricity rate is also different plus off-peak charging discount.
