My man. This is gold. I’m in your Facebook investment group and I’ve been enjoying the conversations. This channel is gonna be big. Keep up the good work 👍🏽
Great video James ! I see your almost at 2K, your probably going to hit 2K by the time you read this 😄. Keep up the good work ! Investing in Yu-Gi-Oh for me definitely takes time, money and calculated risk. I couldn't agree with you more about buying in cases to profit. The Yu-Gi-Oh secondary market can be shaddy at time, like with all businesses and cases ensure your chances can't be tamper with. One tip I have learned about buying in cases to maximize profits are taking into account cost per booster box ratio and FREE SHIPPING. Shipping cost can easily add up especially in cases. I recommend always support your locals and ask if they would price match and if pick up possible. Worst case scenario is they say no to the price match.
Appreciate it my man! Yea, 2k is a great milestone. Thanks for all of the support man - you've been supporting for a long time. And your tip is great -- working out arrangements with your locals is very smart. Getting cost down is extremely important
Good advice man! I'm getting more serious in investing, but I'm really just looking to break even or go a bit above just to pay for the cards/materials I want. Tbh, things like stocks and bonds are as good investments with way less work required. So buying cases and selling the cards will just be for my collection and play hopefully.
Great video. The separate bank accounts really is a solid tip, I should be doing it but I am not super deep yet, maybe for 2021. I am so pumped to see that case opening, I only ordered 2 boxes just for myself and to collect, cant wait to see it.
AtlantaFan21 haha! Fair point 😂 I was saying more to play rogue so you don’t have to keep investing into new decks. Now that I have the hero core, it’s manageable for me to keep up with the deck versus dropping big bucks on new archetype cores
Also another kind of product to invest in are megatins and march reprint sets. This is where I start, I usually buy three cases of each and see for ratios and either keep going or stop. I recommended not starting with anything that is a core set, but collector set works if you don't open it. Buy cases and 1 box just for you to open, other than that I usually only buy boxes just for fun.
Some solid wisdom nuggets in here. Core sets can be risky, but can be worth your while too. I do think keeping sealed collector sets are solid investments though
@@ChazBlanks Interesting you say core sets - why so? To me, holding onto it sealed passed one year seems very risky because of reprints in mega tins and other sets.
Good video. I think being ahead on buying out singles is huge. I make a lot of money from buying out singles, I make ALOT of extra money from that but it does have a huge start up cost for high value cards.
Very good point. I'm still getting my feet wet on investing in singles. Definitely takes some capital and understanding of the meta/ collector markets.
Another great video, some really good tips raised. A lesson I can share from my experience is to trade smarter and move your set bulk. I’ve been able to trade play sets for archetypes like speedroids and madolche from duel overload (I.e. low value per card) to get 1-2 cards from other people that will sell much quicker and easier (e.g. world legacy guardragon). That way you can turn cards that you would otherwise be worth a couple cents from a vendor into quicker to move cards.
That is a great lesson and makes sense. Whenever I buy cards for a new deck, I try to get as many from lesser amounts of sellers as possible. Thanks for the input!
Oh damn....I only had money to buy 1 case of Phantom Rage pre-order and not enough for 3-4 cases. You are right though. If you have the money, cases are better. Too bad I'm not rich XD I was too late for Rage of Ra. Everything was sold out in seconds and I have my actual work to focus on first....Also, thanks a ton for posting links to materials you use for vending. Really means a lot. Thanks for trying to help others with investments man. I really appreciate your content.
Appreciate it man, thanks for the kind words. Trust me.. I'm not buying multiple cases, but only because I don't have the extra spending money 😂 Best to use the money you have and keep growing it. Eventually, I want to go all in on a product, but probably wont be until 2021.
I would also highly suggest to look at sports cards. There's a lot of retail boxes/packs that are selling for double the value right now. 2020 Topps Chrome Baseball is one. They're selling for double the value on 3rd party sites like Ebay.
Wait a week until the product releases to buy your own... Is Colorado just crazy because in the 3 states I've lived while doing this the best I ever got was 2 days before release and that was only because I grew up with the owner of the shop.
Definitely good video. Another idea for a video would be to take a small amount say like $100 and buy penny stock or cheaper singles that are getting more support and flip them and see what the outcome is
That is actually a very good idea. I have already bought into some singles and some have gone very well, others not so much. I may want to hone in my singles investing skills, but dont be too surprised if I actually do this 😂
@@rogueduelisttrade7043 I actually got the idea from watching your channel lol I invested in a bunch of Ra stuff like sphere mode and Ra's disciple and they keep going up everyday. I also bought a ton of PK stuff and that's going up to
Of course we are Interested, from day one ofcourse. And man I didn’t think about these kinda points it really is truth that you should separate things 👌🏻🙏🏻
Here is another point you should make, talk to your post office about shipping cards. My standard process is to sell my cards with 70 Cent non machinable stamps & have a red stamper that reads "NON-MACHINEABLE" so that way I don't have to worry about cards getting shredded in sorting. In terms of selling all the cards you pull, I do that for all the cards $10+ however I save the other cards for when I go to locals & try to trade for higher pricing cards. I spend less money on shipping & give people good deals on cards now to get better deals later.
Great video and great advice. But how much can you approximately make if you invest, for example, 200 USD a month, or if you buy 5 boxes of the newest set?
Best profits are preordering cases and it depends on the set you buy. Some product is best kept sealed (collector product like legendary duelist sets), some may be best opened like core sets (RODT as an example). Profits really vary. On core sets, probably ~$100-$250 per case if you open it, but if you buy several cases you should expect starlight rares which increase your profits in large multiples.
Hey I just wanted to ask if you think legendary duellist rage of ra is worth it at 55 dollars a box ? Or should I wait for it to possibly go a little down in price ?
I agree with box, I've only bought 1 box (and a friend too) and we pulled shit. I won't be buying a case anytime soon, but 12x tins is actually reasonable so I'll start there (I got 6x 2021 tins and got 3x Triple Tactics and 1x Crossout so I guess I'm based :p)
Really can depend on the product and what price you get it at. You can always make some margins on flipping sealed boxes, but you want to get them at preorder prices. Some collector product like legendary duelists sets are best held longer term, but most product you can flip and sell at market price
Hey Rogue, where is a good place to preorder cases or larger sums of product? I can only find ways to preorder by box IE tcgplayer and would like to make more of a investment to have returns seeming as I dont play just trade. Also what should you do with bulk? I'd like to cash it out in some way even if it's not a ton of money.
I just started a Patreon in partnership with PPG and we are helping provide cases of product for applicable Patrons (starting at $655/case, case = 12 boxes) 😄 Our spots are full right now, but we should be opening more soon. Outside the Patreon, I normally went to GameNerdz -- they are good for preorders
Keep these videos up! I just got back into yugioh after not playing for 10 years. I pre-ordered a box of ra and 4 of the lost memories tins. Next pay check I'm probably gonna use it for a case of ra lol.
Assuming you don't buy from a distributor, best prices are if you preorder ~3 months ahead of time and buy at least a case. Comes out to about $58 USD/ box or ~44£
You should be able to grab boxes at ~$58/ box at presale if you buy cases (GameNerdz has been a good resource for me). Flipping boxes though is probably the least risky way to flip product and ensure a return. I'm actually thinking to go more towards that route too or do a mix
Is buying 1 case a good starting point for starting to sell? Or should I wait till I can afford multiple cases without putting myself in a financially difficult position?
Hi man I've just started watching your videos and subscribed, I am very impressed and just wondered if I could have some more advice and opinions of yours? So I have been a collector of many different collectables since I was a kid, I love it and I'm wanting to potentially turn my love for collecting into a second job. I want to be a very trusted seller (which isn't like many) I won't sell cards that are damaged or if are damaged price will be deducted, stated and shown in pictures from different angles so they know exactly what they are buying. I am now wanting to start an eBay store which sells different collectables but mainly Yu-Gi-Oh cards, these arnt going to be holy grails or PSA graded cards but more like affordable cards of the past few years and recent cards which I can get a high stock of for relatively cheap and re-selling. I realise I am going to have to do some extensive research before I set this up, I was thinking of checking deck profiles over the past 3 years to see which cards are vital and used in a lot of decks then buying those of a high rarity when they come out for a cheaper price and selling them on for small profits each but because I have a big stock of them I am making a decent profit. Just wondering your thoughts on and advice on how to start up a store? Wether I should buy multiple booster boxes and other products on pre order and sell all the cards, this is risky because I might get losses or keeping track of sets coming out checking price fluctuations, buying off other eBay sellers when they are at the lowest at release/few weeks after releasing and then selling a month later for slightly more profit? I just don't know how to go about this and it's hard to explain over message. For example today I brought 9 copies of miscellaneousaurus premium gold for £5, 4 of the new reprinted blue eyes alternative for £5 each and then sell these a month later for slightly more profit?
