The Waking of the Dragons arc truly had some amazing archetypes that were transferred poorly to the TCG. E.g. Backup Gardna never being printed despite being integral to the Guardian Archetype, the whole neutering of the Orichalcos etc.
@@johnnyTimothyRokket If something can be put in place to handle the assault charges that would come from punching your opponent, then I would live to see the cards printed
I like how Konami didn't add the soul stealing effect not because they couldn't add dark evil magic that steals the very essence of a person to feed a devil god creature but rather, its cause they thought it was too broken. Konomi got some crazy power tbh XD
There was a UDE promo version of the Seal of Orichalcos where it states that the soul of the losers is forfeited lol good luck enforcing that? Also the illustration of that card wasn’t as well done as the playable version of it.
Personally, I think an Orichalcos archetype using all of the neutered effects from the anime (excluding the soul-stealing effect, along with Shunoros' and Geh's overall overpoweredness) would be pretty solid. You could remove the Golem with a kaiju and the Mirror Knights could possibly have a coin toss or dice roll to determine if they can attack or not to reference their unwillingness to attack at times.
it would suffer inherently because of inconsistency I think. Relying on the seal of oricalcus means that you would have to run 3 copies of it to have reasonable chances on an each duel basis, but then you run into the problem that if youre lucky enough to draw it in your opening hand then every seal you may draw after that becomes a brick. All the extra ring levels (deuteros & tritos) are pretty much automatic excludes since they suffer even more from these problems since they have even more situations where theyd be bricks. Youd have to give every one of the field spells some kind of secondary effect that you can opt for if the Seal is already active so you can run multiple copies of them and still get some alternative function from them if you draw one while the seal is already active. Some searchers with effects that also do something to the board state beside the searching would. Doing that would greatly solve the biggest problems I could see with the theme/archetype deck
a cycling effect for the seals (i.e. if this spell card is activated while another Seal of Oricalcus is already active in your field spell zone; draw 1 card instead) ould arguably be the simplest and also most impactful way to add consistency to an archetype that needs it more than anything
Imagine a card based on Raphael that summons the seal on your opponent's side of the field. Nuking your opponent's Special Summoned monsters and locking out their Extra Deck
And yet you cannot attack with it either, so you'd just be sitting there with your ∞ ATK monster, waiting for your opponent to deck out as well. That would be hella anticlimactic.
@@translationwtf9232 The anime effect of Geh states that as long as Geh is on you field you can't lose the duel but you lose automatically if Geh is destroyed basically making loss of life points or cards in the deck a non-factor.
i really wish we had cards that negate loss conditions in real life. the only one i really want though is infernity zero. it's my favorite card in the anime, and it has no card effect protection so it probably wouldn't even be that good. i just love the effect that you cannot lose the duel, even if your lifepoints hit 0.
I think they should’ve left the use of the spell and trap zones for monsters in the seal’s effect. With the extra deck being locked up, there isn’t a massive threat with that effect since the user won’t be able to link and synchro their way into multiple monsters. If anything, it makes summoning harder for the one using the seal. It also gives more reason to release the other cards in the archtype because of the limited protection you’d have without use of the extra deck.
I mean they could still do it if they release the upgraded seals. And especially when they would take maybe 2 slots of the backrow. 3 additional monsters wouldn’t be a big deal.
I really like the lore for the Orichalcos archetype and I think that the rest of cards of the anime should be printed soon. It would be interesting to see how their effects would differ from their anime counterparts.
kyutora could have a similiar effect to Ras Sphere mode, bringing out shunoros while ignoring its summoning condition, also giving it atk 300 points higher than whatever it battles, by removing kyutora-counters it places on the seal of orichalcos, everytime it absorbs damage. these counters could also protect the seal of orichalcos further, as it cant be reactivated. gigas could also place gigas-counters on the seal, to keep track of its atk, while also protecting it. malevolence can have its anime effect, but i´d also make him a field searcher akin to neo-space pathfinder. orichalcos sword of sealing isnt really worth the discard, maybe banishing a card from your deck instead, and if sword of sealing leaves the field, you can activate the banished card similiar to diamond dude effect.
My theory behind the weaker RL versions of the cards, is that when Dartz/Leviathan was defeated, the Orichalcos as a whole simply lost a lot of its power. But yep I agree, the archetype has always fascinated me, and the arc was one of my favorites despite being filler. I'd love to see 'em come to the game.
Doubt such a deck could ever work. Geh,Shunoros and the seal all are entirely serperate to one another Be funny to see how they would salvage this into a deck if they tried doing that
You forgot to mention the illegal Upper Deck promo card version of the Seal of Orichalcos, which DID in fact copy over all the anime card’s effects: “This Spell Card is impervious to negation, destruction, and removal. Increase the ATK power of all your monsters by 500. You control a back row of monsters that cannot be attacked while a monster is in the front row. Send this card from your hand to the Graveyard to negate and destroy any card. The soul of whichever Duelist loses this Duel is forfeit to the winner.”
@@wingedhussar1453 the fact it can negate anything makes it meta on the spot. most decks would only run it for that. there would probably be a deck that uses it for the 10 monsters though, and probably a deck that just takes the soul of everyone they duel. there might also be a deck like earthbound immortals that uses it because they need a field spell and it can't be destroyed. the attack boost would be basically useless though, since any attack boost under 1000 is probably not going to matter.
@@wingedhussar1453 and? infinite impermanence still sees play, and it only negates monster effects, and you can only use it from your hand if you have no cards on the field. this can negate anything, and you can use it whenever you want. also it's a field spell, which is basically the most easily searchable type of card in the game.
@@jaspertyler4557 not bad I'd say it's deserved since it's the seal of oricholcos. I wouldn't mind the seal breaking meta .it's a one time use effect which most people wouldn't even use the seal most of time
Had a DVD which was basically just the Mai vs Joey fight from this arc and I swear to god I know now every move of that duel better than I know my mother's face
11:18- I like this monster as it serves as a villainous version of how the heroes’ monsters seem meek but have incredible potential and serving as a Chekhov’s gun- a figure that seemingly has no real purpose other than absorbing damage and looking weird- hiding in the shadows of the more impressive monsters and waiting for the right time to blossom into its overpowered potential- showing how long term and manipulative Dartz is through his duel.
I would definitely like to see the rest of the Orichalcos cards printed, if only to see their effects changed to synergise with the pre-existing cards so that one could actually build a Dartz deck IRL. Heck, while we’re at it, I’d love to see Alister and Valon’s cards get printed as well. I presume it was because the season was filler, but Konami have really been slow in getting the Doma Arc cards out.🤔
Interesting enough, Orichalcos Kyutora had two additional effects, that were seen in a PC Yu-Gi-Oh game (that I can't remember the name of); Kyutora could not be destroyed by battle. As well, in addition to it's effect where it couldn't be Normal Summoned or Set, it could only be Special Summoned by paying 500LP and if the Field Spell, Seal of Orichalcos, Orichalcos Deuteros or Orichalcos Tritos is face-up on the field. Edit: I just remembered what the name of that Yu-Gi-Oh game was. Yu-Gi-Oh YGOPro.
No I'm pretty sure the battle destruction immunity effect was made up, the rest is true On PC there are only 3 official games, if you played one with Kyutora then it must've been a custom made version of those 3, cause I once played one where the 3 dragons were turned into 2k level 4 beaters
the one in ygopro doesn't require you to have the field spells on the field, and also the other person is correct whoever told you it couldn't be destroyed by battle lied
The game Omnicidal Clown is talking about if YGOPRO: Dawn of a New Era. I use Dartz’s cards on there and they absolutely suck on there. Kyutora could be destroyed by battle, but in that game, it can’t be. The inability to summon him without the Seal is unbelievably stupid. Mirror knights don’t work ANYTHING like in the anime. Shunoros’s original ATK is 20,000. Again, not right. Aristeros and Dexia are a joke, they don’t even do what they’re supposed to do. Geh breaks the game because even if you kill your opponent with it, it tricks the game into thinking your opponent and you are tied (since you both have 0 LP). All in all, they’re just a mess on DOANE. EdoPro is they way to go if you want to play a Dartz deck.
I once won against a guy who claimed to be using a “pure orichalcos normal monster mash aggro”. After he lost, he slammed his head on the table and remained motionless for about 10 minutes, scaring the living shit out of me
This archetype is so cool Man, I really wanna see some of those cards be printed right now. I hope the next Animation Chronicle pack will featured more supports for the Orichalcos archetype
Slowly but surely they will create all the cards and like they’re still doing with the god cards make extra cards that unlock almost all of the anime effects if not all
They should’ve kept the whole “you lose the duel you lose your soul” thing. If you lose, you become a Konami intern, specifically working on Metal Gear.
This archetype reminds me of the Yubel monsters, where they get destroyed only to get transformed into a stronger monster. Also I like when Konami does retrains of cards that reference their anime effects, like raidraptor-revolution falcon-air raid.
I think my favorite detail from this archetype is the fact that, according to at least one writer involved with the original anime, the in-universe version of the Seal of Orichalcos *isn't* entirely immune to effect destruction and actually has the same "only once per turn" immunity as the real one; it's just that Gurimo lied off his ass in the season premier, saying it was completely indestructible to psyche Yami Yugi out, and then literally no one ever tried to destroy the Seal with card effects again for the rest of the season.
I would probably call it narrative convenience just to keep the stakes high for the sake of story. Incidentally, I hypothesize if there was one protagonist who could have discovered it can be destroyed after the first attempt failed on the same turn, it might have been Joey by finding out completely by newbie accident (a la Roger Wilco).
To be fair, a once per turn immunity was probably pretty strong back then and if the Seal could be destroyed they probably didn't want to write the narrative hoops the characters would have to go through to get rid of it.
However the losing the soul thing seems to have been a permanent effect as seen when the seal attempted to reappear just as Atem was activating relay soul only to fail when he didn’t actually lose yet. I could see that being a kind of plot twist they worked in that despite the visible destruction of the seal it was still active the whole time so there was truly no escape.
Seal was completely immune to anything except of course BS plot armor and legendary knights. Áleister played Spell Canceler which is basically like an imperial order effect… Seal was still in play and with its effects.
The mirror knight tokens remind me what happened when Yami had his final dual against Yako Tenma where he used the Wicked Avatar to make it seem like Yugi hated Yami and wanted to kill him
I also see many other similarities between Yu-Gi-Oh! R and the Orichalcos Arc. In both cases Yugi needed a monster which could boost its own ATK to infinity (Obelisk the Progenitoe or the Fusion of the 3 Legendary Knights) to counter another Monster with infinite amount of ATK (Wicked Avatar or Divine Serpent Geh)
This one of the coolest anime only arcatype and I wish we got everything it offered. Also one thing I find really interesting is that, imagine how powerful the legendary knights were if turning them into dragons was ment to nerf them
The 60-card deck limit hadn't been introduced yet when Dartz's duel aired on tv, so it's likely he had well over one hundred cards in his deck to allow Divine Serpent Geh to perform plenty of attacks.
The Orichalcos Arcetype would most likely considered as Gemini/Normal Monster Support with the Orichalcos layers and Qeutora as Continuous Spells and the rest of the Orichalcos Monsters all having a main gimmick effect of treating themselves as Normal Monsters while in certain areas.
Kyutora could easily work as a meat shield. “As long as it is on the field while there are monsters on your side of the field, you take 0 battle damage.”
@@kyutora1024 Don’t be so harsh. You’re NOT garbage. What I would add would be additional protection from effect damage, so you can’t be hurt period. Also make him untargetable for attack or card effect while he’s in the back row and you control a monster(s).
@@Divine_Serpent_Geh Every card of the Orichalcos so far has been nerfed into oblivion when implemented into the TCG, because... I dunno, Konami too afraid of its power or something. I highly doubt it'll be different with Kyutora, a buff would be even less likely. I appreciate you trying to cheer me up though, I'll never take a warm gesture for granted.
Considering I love using life points as a resource especially with my psychics I would love for more of the Orichalcos cards to get released and those that are currently out to have retrains to bring them a little more in line with their anime depictions.
I would 100% build a full deck for Dartz He's probably my favorite OG villan in the series and also I mean come in, the dude was terrifying for an entire season
Nostalgia lvl 100000 , btw the Orichalcos Deuteros mean second in Greek ,( Δεύτερος ) and Tritos (Τρίτος) is third . Check the Google translation for the correct pronunciation. I found it kinda clever and funny that Konami used Greek word for this names in the anime and this is why I mentioned it ☺️ Plus the hands of the Shunoros are Aristeros (Αριστερός=Left ), Dexios (Δεξιός=Right ) but I feel that many people know that or even thought that so not big deal but since we mentioned the above why not this one too 😝
Technically their was one seal that came out before legendary collection 3 if I remember correctly it was a tournament reward it was unplayable from what I understand and it literally had the text that the one who loses the duel loses their soul
Honestly the orikakamalakolos archetype could use alot more cards, while it is a fairly barren archetype in the anime, it is from one of the most iconic arcs in the series and I could see seal upgrades being a really interesting gameplan leading to some sort of wincon with the great leviathan or something similar
I believe the other two field spells could get see a real world debut, but more on the lines of either continues spells or traps that can’t only be activated if you have the original active. That way it’s not just a constant field chance and you don’t have to dig through your GY to hand the first layer so no one can try and do some sneeky plans by adding old monsters to your hand
The extra layers of the orichalcos reminds me a lot of the Empty/Infinite machine traps that Timelords use, with the buildup to Infinite Light creating a one card win con. Given how tricky it is to set all of that up, I can see Deuteros and Tritos being a thing. The only issue as is though is the Orichalcos itself have that shitty "once per duel" thing.
The irony is that given how common effect monsters are in modern Yu-Gi-Oh, an anime-accurate version of Divine Serpent Geh would actually be a MASSIVE liability. In the anime, Geh has no self-protection (at least from what's told to us). A single Raigeki would make you lose the duel if you actually had Geh on the field.
Every so often, I come back to the Orichalcos archetype and try to figure out how exactly it would work in the real game. Taking into account the existence of the real cards, the Seal, Shunorus and Geb. It's a real challenge. Since the Seal locks you out of the extra deck, you would have to make the remaining cards *excellent* for the deck to stand a chance... And I think that the best card in the archtype is actually Kyutora . It has a special summon effect, it floats, and it stops you taking damage. I'd say the deck would need two things on top of what it shows in the anime. The first is a much, much higher consistency. The second thing it needs is a better win con than Geb or Shunoros. Still, they did eventually do Golden Castle and the Valkyrie. They'll probably do the rest of the archtype eventually.
With the hardcore removal we got in the current meta, the field spells would have to have equally hardcore protection. Kyutora - also really broken back then - who is gonna get stopped by something like that nowadays?
@@kyutora1024 I think having the field spells require stacking is a big mistake. It would be better if they had one of the following two effects. 1: When you play one, if the lower level wasn't already on the field then it returns itself to the deck and activates that one from the deck/gy ignoring activation requirements. 2: It only copies the effects of the others if they're already in the GY, but otherwise keeps the same general effects. Additional protection for the field spells is a must have, though. I also think that the cards should all float into each other. Kyutora already summons Shunoros. So how about Malevolance floats into Kyutora? And so on. The equip card needs a major upgrade given how naff equip cards are now. The discard requirement can go. Negate the effect of the equipped card, plus it cannot attack, be tributed or used as material, plus if an Orichalcos field spell is in play the controller of the equipped card cannot summon from extra deck. That would be just about playable. The main thing that throws me off whenever I do think this through are Shunoros' arms. My gut makes me want to make them have effects related to Shunoros, but that makes them pretty... not great. I also considered making them level 4 pendulum/normal monsters as Shunoros could make good use of that. But then again, you cannot summon them from the extra deck if they get destroyed while Seal is on the field. I had considered giving them some quite odd effects as well: One arm could read "if an effect specifies Normal monsters, it affects Orichalcos effect monsters the same way" and the other arm would go vice versa. Thus turning any Normal support into Orichalcos support. That's basically the core of my thought process here for the archtype, and it sort of fixes some of the issues - but I don't think it quite goes far enough to make up for the obvious issues.
I personally think they adapted the effects of the Seal of Orichalcos into the OCG/TCG quite well. Being permanently unaffected by card effects would be a bit much even though the card is far from meta breaking, and I feel like having an imaginary second row of monster card zones or treating the spell/trap zones as such would be too awkward.
I'm mad they nerfed the god cards and SoO so hard on physical release. They should have let those cards have some of the OP effects and banned them if they were too much of a problem. Then if you look at the ban list and see things like the god cards and SoO, people will just think it's cool.
Actually, it might be pretty cool if the god cards were purposely made so overpowered that they were limited. I don’t think even be very hard. Give them all protection effects and high attack points. Ra could get a board wipe effect, slifer has the same effect but can effect monsters in defense mode, and Obelisk could stay the same effect wise, but get better protection.

I understand why they didn't bring over the whole "Monsters in the Spell and Trap Zone Backrow" effect from the anime but I think it could have worked with these effects/limitations * You can only summon monsters into your Spell and Trap Zone when all 5 of your Main Monster Zones are full. * Any monsters you have in your Spell and Trap Zone cannot declare an attack. * Another way of balancing it is that if the Seal of Orichalos is removed, you have to destroy/banish all monsters in your backrow and you take 1000 Damage for every monster destroyed by this effect. Makes it a risk vs reward type of thing and makes you think twice about crowding your backrow.
I personally think that an architype built around upgrading a field spell is a cool idea that Konami could explore. It could be possible to translate the effect where you summon monsters in your back row since while you have the seal of orichalcos out you have no access to the extra deck. The deck could have some potential however I don't see Konami genually trying seeing as how the other cards in the " Architype" were treated
While the Infinite attack thing is a little crazy, the idea of the Geh saving you from losing the duel no matter what unless its removed sounds like a fun gimmick that the Konami should definitely add.
@@Salamence20SH yep, as it said, as long as the card is on the monster zone, the player can't lose the duel. Considering the numerous powerful cards that exist today, I can definitely see this as a valid gimmick for just one card to have

I fucking died at the live action skit. A way to "Save" this series would be to print the Orichalcos monsters to have an effect that always treated them as normal monsters while thy still had access to their effects. That way they can still work with Shunaros. That is wishful thinking though. I expect the Clear archtype to be printed soon at least. Or eventually as they are just going down the line of the tag force games.
Will admit I nearly choked at the small scream when he 'activated' his hand drawn seal XD also kind of wish the other archetype cards would get adapted. The 2nd and 3rd seal layers need to be insanely nerded but it would be an interesting deck to play with or against if they could balance it well.
They definitely neutered this card too much. Yes 10 monster zones sounds unorthodoxly strong, but so is everything that can otk or even ftk you rn. Moreover, they added the extra monster zone and the ability to extra link to steal the opponent's extra monster zone...So it's not as if they didn't continue to play with the idea of additional monster zones for ppl to use. Honestly, they should make an updated version that unleashes more of that original power, the way they altered it unfortunately doomed the archetype to be 3 cards with 0 updates since their release.
Yeah, 10 monster zones isn't a big deal when they take up spell/trap zones AND lock you out of the extra deck (and by extension your own extra monster zone).
@@dontmisunderstand6041 its probably more useable if they CAN be used as monster zones. Still, i dont think the archetype would be that broken even if that were the case. In fact it might even cause interesting interactions with the advent of link monsters and their arrows. Theyd just need a lot more support that has yet to exist.
Make the 10 monsters on the field a valid thing. But on for the Seal of Orichalcos, also have the restriction where you can’t play an extra deck or do some bullshit link abuse. It would keep the card from become annoying and it would force you to calculate your resources well so you don’t run out of spots for backrow.
I think I audibly said, "Oh, come on!" Several times watching that episode. That season was chock full of shenanigans and that duel was the cherry on top of it all.
Huh. So *THATS* where the snake eye effects to throw monsters into the back row originally came from. Honestly I need to read the manga all the way through. I forget that it even exists past DM 😅
in the real card game Orichalcos monsters are destroyed by the seal of Orichalcos's effect to destroy special summoned monsters. so the archetype would not actually work
I like the combo of the seal that destroys your own monster and Meklord Emperor that gets special summoned using the seal's effect. Also being able to protect your smaller monsters behind the Meklord is really useful. Only problem is that it doesn't do that well to protect from non-synchro monsters. But it is still a fun idea to have two antagonists cards mix pretty well.
The seal of orichalculos was my favorite card just because of the 10 monster zone. The possibilities were so endless for that time period. however it was pretty cool in the games giving all monsters a nice bonus attack.
So, some ideas for real-world effects of Orichalcos cards, and a bit of an explanation as to why: Orichalcos Kyutora: Pay 500 LP: Special Summon this card from your hand. While this card is face-up on the field, you take no battle damage. When this card is removed from the field: Special Summon one Orichalcos Shunoros from your hand, deck or graveyard, ignoring its summoning conditions. I decided to actually buff Kyutora, at the expense of not boosting Shunoros when it's summoned. Kyutora now summons Shunoros whenever it's simply removed from the field rather than just when it's destroyed, this way it can't just be bounced, kaiju'd or banished without still summoning Shunoros. It also summons from anywhere so that Shunoros doesn't just end up as a garnet. Orichalcos Gigas: When this card is destroyed: special summon it in attack position, it gains 500 atk. Your opponent cannot target other Orichalcos monsters for attacks, ignoring the effect of The Seal of Orichalcos Didn't want to just let this thing gain absurd amounts of attack. This way you can still use it to Dartz-stall without it turning into the world's biggest beatstick. The Orichalcos archetype definitely needs to be able to stall to get its important cards since it has zero search capabilities, but it definitely doesn't need any more big beaters. Orichalcos Malevolence: you could print this thing as-is, no one would play it. Mirror Knight Calling: Ritual Summoned by the ritual spell card "Orichalcos Mirror". You must also tribute monsters who's total level stars equal 6 or more. When this card is summoned: special summon 4 Mirror Knight Tokens (Warrior-type/DARK/Level 1/0 ATK/0 DEF,), put a Mirror Counter on each monster summoned by this effect. Each of your turns during your standby phase: put a Mirror Counter on every Mirror Knight Token you control (max 1). If a monster with a Mirror Counter would be destroyed, remove 1 Mirror Counter from it instead. As long as you control a Mirror Knight, this card cannot be removed from the field or targeted by attacks. When a Mirror Knight Token battles an opponent's monster, it gains ATK equal to the opponent's monster's ATK. Anime Mirror Knight Calling is a bad card, but it's a really fun card to use. I decided to buff it a bit to give it some better surviveability, now you have to get rid of the knights before you can get rid of Calling. Orichalcos Dexia: Cannot be normal summoned or set. Can only be special summoned by its own effect. When Orichalcos Shunoros is summoned by the effect of Orichalcos Kyutora: You may special summon this card from your hand, deck or graveyard, you can only special summon 1 Orichalcos Dexia per turn. Cannot be removed from the field or targeted by attacks or effects while Orichalcos Shunoros is on the field. When this card battles an opponent's monster: It gains ATK equal to the opponent's monster's ATK + 300. If Orichalcos Shunoros is removed from the field: destroy this card, this counts as being destroyed by your opponent's card effect. Orichalcos Aristeros: Cannot be normal summoned or set. Can only be special summoned by its own effect. When Orichalcos Shunoros is summoned by the effect of Orichalcos Kyutora: You may special summon this card from your hand, deck or graveyard, you can only special summon 1 Orichalcos Aristeros per turn. Cannot be removed from the field or targeted by attacks or effects while Orichalcos Shunoros is on the field. While this card is on the field: Orichalcos Shunoros you control cannot be destroyed by card effects. Your opponent cannot target any other monsters on your side of the field, ignoring the effect of The Seal of Orichalcos. You take no battle damage from battles involving this card. If Orichalcos Shunoros is removed from the field: destroy this card, this counts as being destroyed by your opponent's card effect. Ok, these were kinda tricky. Because the real Shunoros doesn't summon them, they had to be given additional effects that allow them to be special summoned from wherever. Aristeros was also given a buff to protect Shunoros, and to negate battle damage instead of just making its defense equal the opponent's attack. I feel this would make Shunoros actually decent instead of the pile of garbage it is. Additionally, because both Dexia and Aristeros destroy themselves and pin the blame on your opponent, they can then bring out Geh even if Shunoros gets kaiju'd. However, Geh has issues of its own, so I'll be retraining it as well. And now for the retrain: Divine Orichalcos Serpent Infinite Geh DIVINE/Level 12 Divine Beast/Effect Cannot be normal summoned or set. Cannot be special summoned except by its own effect. When Orichalcos Shunoros is removed from the field: you can pay half your LP, special summon this card from your hand or graveyard. Cannot be removed from the field by card effects. Cannot be targeted by your opponent's card effects. Cannot be tributed. Cannot have its ATK or DEF reduced by effects. While this card is face-up on the field: You cannot lose the duel, this effect cannot be negated. This card's ATK and DEF are equal to the highest original ATK or DEF on the field. When this monster declares an attack: mill 5 cards from your deck (this is not optional). When this card is removed from the field: You lose the duel. ? ATK/ ? DEF I mean, it literally says "divine" in its name and it's supposed to be this huge serpent god, so of course it's going to be a Divine attribute Divine Beast type. And yeah, this thing's a pretty broken card, albeit limited by the fact that you have to run Shunoros to bring it out. There's only one way to get rid of it - attacking it with a monster with non-original ATK higher than the highest original ATK on the field. However, it has to be the opponent's monster that has the buffed ATK, you can't reduce Geh's ATK to get around it - I will admit that that particular effect was done explicitly as a "fuck you" to Borrelsword or any other easy attacking outs.
I like some of these. I’d personally make use of Malevolence’s effect and turn it into something more powerful/trolly. “Once per turn (quick effect): switch the battle position of 1 monster on the field”. This is particularly good because it’s a quick effect, you could activate during either players battle phase, and wording it this way doesn’t target. The way you did Geh is honestly kind of how they should’ve done it from the beginning. Pretty much unaffected by anything, can only leave the field if it’s destroyed by battle. However, I think you should’ve kept his TCG effect where he negated effects/cut ATK or DEF in half, this way he’s a guaranteed kill on anything, OR you could’ve given him the effect where he couldn’t be destroyed by battle with a monster with the same ATK, so the opponent couldn’t just crash a monster into him and win. Either way, your card renditions are way better than what we have. They honestly did Dartz VERY dirty. We did his cards freshened up and we need his two giant bosses to be rehashed :)
@@Divine_Serpent_Geh I was trying to make Geh accurate to the anime while still being effective in the modern TCG. Anime Geh doesn't have the negate effect. (Also, we already have tons of boss monsters with negates and I kinda wanted to get away from that)
@@VestedUTuber Yeah, I absolutely get that. In that case, shielding him from being crashed with equal ATK would be the solution for your version. You know, so that way your opponent can’t just summon Moki Moki and kill our Serpent God just like that lol. As for others, Dexia would be ideal for giving Shunoros destruction immunity, while Aristeros would give him targeting immunity, in my opinion he absolutely needs this because he’s usually very weak while in the field (3000 ATK or less). Make Aristeros where you can force your opponent to attack with every monster they control, burning them for 300 LP for each battle. Kyutora could be placed in the back row and negate all battle AND effect damage (ya know…for Trickstars). While you control other monsters, he can’t be targeted by card effects, and if your opponent clears you monster zones and goes for direct, simply send him to the graveyard and you take no damage that turn, from here make him float Shunoros out (Waboku on steroids essentially). Many ideas while still sticking to the core effects of Dartz’s anime cards.
"The Seal of Orichalcos" could be erratad to get rid of the downside that you can only activate it once per duel. That was a bit much. "Orichalcos Deuteros" and "Orichalcos Tritos" might need other effects so they are not bricks if you draw them to early. Maybe have you return them to the deck or discard them for effects. "Orichalcos Gigas" effect is useful but now there are more ways of banishing monsters and bouncing them. It does make you miss your draw phases which is a high price. The only issue is how to keep track of it's ATK increase. Maybe have it add counters onto "The Seal of Orichalcos" (which could be transferred to "Orichalcos Deuteros" and "Orichalcos Tritos") to determine it. "Orichalcos Malevolence" might need a boost since just changing a monsters' battle position isn't all that great an effect. "Orichalcos Mirror" and "Mirror Knight Calling" have a high cost to get on the field like any Ritual Monster. And since the real "The Seal of Orichalcos" doesn't let you play more then 5 monsters "Mirror Knight Calling" and the four "Mirror Knight" tokens would take up all your monster card zones. The Mirror Shields could be counters "Mirror Knight Calling" replaces any missing ones during the End Phase. This would work good with "The Seal of Orichalcos" since they all have the same ATK the opponent would not be able to attack. "Orichalcos Sword of Sealing" would need a buff since just negating one monsters effect at the cost of discarding a card from your hand is a bit much. Especially since it is an Equip Spell Card so your opponent could just destroy it to get their effect back. "Orichalcos Kyutora" could gain counters each time it negates battle damage. We would need a retrained version of "Orichalcos Shunoros" for it to summon and the number of counters that "Orichalcos Kyutora" had when it was destroyed would determine it's ATK and DEF. "Orichalcos Dexia" and "Orichalcos Aristeros" (and maybe even the retrained "Orichalcos Shunoros" ) might need other effects so they are not bricks if you draw them to early. "Orichalcos Shunoros" might need some more protection to since I am assuming that "Orichalcos Dexia" and "Orichalcos Aristeros" are destroyed if it leaves the field. We'd need a retrained "Divine Serpent Geh" to be closer to it's anime portrayal. Since infinite ATK isn't a thing in the real card game maybe have it so if it battles with an attack position monster its' ATK becomes equal to that monster's ATK and the opponent's life points, if it battles a defense position monster its' ATK becomes equal to that monster's DEF and the opponent's life points, and if it attacks directly it's ATK becomes equal to the opponents life points. If having a player not lose the duel with 0 life points is to much it could just be that you can't take battle damage or effect damage while it is face-up but you lose if it leaves the field. Might need some more protection to if that is the case.
The Orichalcos arc was and still is my favourite from the anime and my favourite card is The Seal of Orichalcos. I've always wanted to run an Orichalcos deck, but considering there are only three cards in the real TCG, I just didn't see the point. Sure, it was OP in the anime, we all know they can nerf things. Funny I should see this after just finishing the Duel Monsters anime.
I can see Aristeros and Dexia being printed with following effects: Aristeros: If Orichalcos Shunoros is special summoned, you can special summon this card from your hand, deck or Graveyard in attack position. This cards attack becomes equal to the attack of the summoned Orichalcos Shunoros. This card cannot attack directly. If Orichalcos Shunoros would be destroyed by battle, you can destroy this card instead. Dexia: If Orichalcos Shunoros is special summoned, you can special summon this card from your hand, deck or graveyard in defense position. This cards defense becomes equal to the attack of the summoned Orichalcos Shunoros. If This card battles, you take no damage from that battle. If Orichalcos Shunoros would be destroyed by a card effect, you can destroy this card instead.
Nice video! I commissioned someone to make ultra rares for my dartz deck. Yeah a lot of media uses occult stuff or Sumerian etc. so the sword and shield are not monsters, they’re essentially tokens. If you highlight on dartz duel disk you just see shuneros. I put the arms in his extra deck. They made a dogu card and I was like oh cool. I sometimes comment to konami to fix the archetype lol
Some of those cards we're crossing into the Dragon Ball Z category. Goku and Vegeta Super Saiyan levels lol A match between Yugi and Kaiba vs Goku and Vegeta. I use the Dragon balls and summon Shenron the Dragon in attack position. lol
The Waking of the Dragons arc truly had some amazing archetypes that were transferred poorly to the TCG. E.g. Backup Gardna never being printed despite being integral to the Guardian Archetype, the whole neutering of the Orichalcos etc.
If Sam does a Guardian Archetype video, then Backuo Guardna would be covered, and maybe it'll be a real card after that

Imagine a card based on Raphael that summons the seal on your opponent's side of the field.

i really wish we had cards that negate loss conditions in real life. the only one i really want though is infernity zero. it's my favorite card in the anime, and it has no card effect protection so it probably wouldn't even be that good. i just love the effect that you cannot lose the duel, even if your lifepoints hit 0.
Nerfing the oricalcos from taking the losers soul is a major miss step on Konami part if you ask me
I think they should’ve left the use of the spell and trap zones for monsters in the seal’s effect.
Also this would would well with rituals and non-extra deck sets.
I think they removed that effect due to the potential ruling issues they would encounter
@@filipvadas7602 i mean, dark sanctuary made it work with placing spell cards in the monster zones.

They should’ve kept the whole “you lose the duel you lose your soul” thing. If you lose, you become a Konami intern, specifically working on Metal Gear.
Silent Hill has it worse.
Not sure why the dig at the only other franchise to really make Konami money aside from Yu-Gi-Oh and the Gambling market.
Kinda offsetting that a card elaborated from ancient magic that seals people's souls in cards would be destroyed by 2 MST.

Full power Orichalcos still losses to some funny level 2 monster archetype we have today 😆
It’s pronounced “Oricacamalos”!
Don’t you mean the Orichalcamolos? That’s how super special awesome people say it.
"DPE Is a hard card to get rid off "
Me:Call by the grave that nonsense
The Seal of Orichalcos sounds like it would do pretty well with the Gemini Monsters (monsters who need to be normal summoned twice for their effects).
Wait why? I don't see the synergy
@@totalwartimelapses6359 if you have monsters in the backrow with monsters in front, the gemini will be safe to be normal summoned again without being destroyed by battle.
@@MrMariosonicman But each Gemini monster still requires two Normal Summons to pop off.
I actually remade most of these cards, primarily the anime cards.
Orichalcos Gigas

not all of these are really good but i am happy to have made them and for them to be a bit closer to irl/ meta
looks op, but good enough
That’s really good but the leviathan effects is really bad they need to be much better.
I understand why they didn't bring over the whole "Monsters in the Spell and Trap Zone Backrow" effect from the anime but I think it could have worked with these effects/limitations
* You can only summon monsters into your Spell and Trap Zone when all 5 of your Main Monster Zones are full.
I think the likelier reason it wasn't included is because it would be a ruling nightmare and require way too much text on the card.
They changed it to much, they should have left the losing soul affect
6:43 That scream tho... lol
While the Infinite attack thing is a little crazy, the idea of the Geh saving you from losing the duel no matter what unless its removed sounds like a fun gimmick that the Konami should definitely add.
So what would happen in the case of a deck out? Would the Geh owner just keep playing?
@@Salamence20SH yep, as it said, as long as the card is on the monster zone, the player can't lose the duel. Considering the numerous powerful cards that exist today, I can definitely see this as a valid gimmick for just one card to have
@@d-skullgaming696
Would've been hilarious if Atem still had Exodia, got all the pieces to his hand, and Exodia comes out, only for Geh to stop it in its tracks, lol.

Anime version of Geh (and Soul Relay) prevents the user from losing the Duel in any way while it is on the field. Not merely from damage or Deck out and such.
I still have the seal of oricalcos duel disk unopened in box from my childhood.

Please do a video on the Darkness archetype from GX.
I really do hope we get more orichacos support
Will admit I nearly choked at the small scream when he 'activated' his hand drawn seal XD also kind of wish the other archetype cards would get adapted. The 2nd and 3rd seal layers need to be insanely nerded but it would be an interesting deck to play with or against if they could balance it well.
weird way to spell ori-cack-ah-mah-los
This is such a dumb little kurebo reference.
Never realized how much shuuteros looks like shakkoumon until today

Aahhh yes, the Orichalcomalous-Archetype
JOEY!! IF YOU LOSE THE DUEL, YOU LOSE YOUR SOUL!
Yeah but it probably be hard to code in games and their no way of actually doing that
Make the 10 monsters on the field a valid thing. But on for the Seal of Orichalcos, also have the restriction where you can’t play an extra deck or do some bullshit link abuse. It would keep the card from become annoying and it would force you to calculate your resources well so you don’t run out of spots for backrow.
The part when you drew the star killed...and also took my soul.

I knew what joke was coming yet i still laughed a lot xd
I think I audibly said, "Oh, come on!" Several times watching that episode. That season was chock full of shenanigans and that duel was the cherry on top of it all.
I was so disappointed that Master Duel didn’t even give it a summoning animation.
I just like that it was “For Legal Reasons, Konmai can’t add that effect”. XD Implying they could if they were allowed lol
Huh. So *THATS* where the snake eye effects to throw monsters into the back row originally came from. Honestly I need to read the manga all the way through. I forget that it even exists past DM 😅
Man, I really hope this archetype gets more IRL support in the future!
Ok Drawing The Hexagram And Slamming it and Turning Green and Screaming killed me lol
Your introduction made it look like this arc type just has absolute raves.
I like the effect the TCG The seal of Orichalcos has. I UDE Seals from Duel the masters back in 04'. The OG days.
in the real card game Orichalcos monsters are destroyed by the seal of Orichalcos's effect to destroy special summoned monsters. so the archetype would not actually work
When you think about it, Orichalcos Kyutora has the WEIRDEST evolution line ever.
Look at me! I start from a weirdo eyeball, then I turn into a Dogu statue, then I break and release a giant snake! lol
11:14 bro yugis face was like “little boy if you dont stop right now ima bout to make you see the shadow realm”
It’s been one year. The scream after he drew the star still makes me laugh 😂
This is one of the absolute most overpowered Yu-Gi-Oh! Archetypes to ever exist period.
The seal of orichalculos was my favorite card just because of the 10 monster zone. The possibilities were so endless for that time period. however it was pretty cool in the games giving all monsters a nice bonus attack.
So, some ideas for real-world effects of Orichalcos cards, and a bit of an explanation as to why:
Orichalcos Kyutora: Pay 500 LP: Special Summon this card from your hand.
Your opponent cannot target other Orichalcos monsters for attacks, ignoring the effect of The Seal of Orichalcos
Didn't want to just let this thing gain absurd amounts of attack.
And now for the retrain:
Divine Orichalcos Serpent Infinite Geh
DIVINE/Level 12
Divine Beast/Effect
Cannot be normal summoned or set.
? ATK/ ? DEF
I mean, it literally says "divine" in its name and it's supposed to be this huge serpent god, so of course it's going to be a Divine attribute Divine Beast type.
@@Divine_Serpent_Geh
I was trying to make Geh accurate to the anime while still being effective in the modern TCG.
Everytime I hear "Orichalcos" i say "The Seal of Orichacamalos" from Yugioh abridged xD and Leviathan I always say "The Gweat Wavaiafin"
"If you loose the duel, you loose your soul!"
The Seal of Orichalcos Quadros: The player that loses the duel is forever banned from dueling ever again.
6:44 I’m swear I was dying 😂😂😂
The Orichalcos arc was and still is my favourite from the anime and my favourite card is The Seal of Orichalcos. I've always wanted to run an Orichalcos deck, but considering there are only three cards in the real TCG, I just didn't see the point. Sure, it was OP in the anime, we all know they can nerf things. Funny I should see this after just finishing the Duel Monsters anime.
Time to watch that one episode of yu-gi-oh abridged iykyk 😂😂
I can see Aristeros and Dexia being printed with following effects:
Aristeros: If Orichalcos Shunoros is special summoned, you can special summon this card from your hand, deck or Graveyard in attack position.
“if orichalcos shunoros is special summoned” we don’t want it to miss timing
