I don't make these plastic poles anymore - I switched to using wire (hardware cloth) I'm going to make an updated tutorial when I go to make more! Here's a link to my moss pole supplies: www.amazon.com/shop/plantsbymelissa/list/27D4Z5CKST4WL?ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d
Great video! I made 3 poles right along with you. I see your comment that you dont make these plastic poles anymore so i need to find your updated video. Mine turned out okay but 2 things i notice - my poles are leaning and the soil seems too compacted. I need to fix my mixture and hope my plants dont hate me for it 😅
What's the reason to only put plant in the front even with a pole like this (vs a plastic pole where only front is accessible of moss)? I've always wondered (and left another comment) about whether these pole plants can only have one strand in the front or can go fuller around. Thanks!
That’s what I’m wondering too. I think as long as you rotate the plant or have a grow light above or something you should be fine to have it go all around. That is what I’m going to try with my micans, brasil, and two pothos anyway. 🤷🏻♀️
@@jeramietolbert6699 I've come to realize I'm not good at these . I'm not very consistent in maintaining things other than watering. So I've given up on these. Lol
Melissa, where do you buy your black plastic to make your poles from? Do you get that also off of amazon? IF so, can you give us an Amazon link please?
Hi, I don't use plastic poles anymore but I can share the link for you here and you can find all the moss pole supplies: www.amazon.com/shop/plantsbymelissa/list/27D4Z5CKST4WL?ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d
Oh yay!! I’m glad it helped!! I tried to make it easy to follow but it was hard to film some lol. But yes, I love this netting so you can make your own sizes! 😁
Hi there! Sure :) This is the plastic one I use www.amazon.com/dp/B000HMA6W8?tag=onamzmeli0992-20&linkCode=ssc&creativeASIN=B000HMA6W8&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.27D4Z5CKST4WL
Great video, Thanks for sharing! 🤗🤗💚💚Wondering if it would be ok to add a garden stake to the back of the moss poll for larger plants? Also, would you mind sharing the link to the netting ? I have seen some chicken wire but they seem harder to cut and shape.
Hi, thank you! Haha yes I can share the link to my moss pole section. I add a stake to the back of mine they get kinda wobbly the taller they get. www.amazon.com/shop/plantsbymelissa?listId=27D4Z5CKST4WL&ref=exp_plantsbymelissa_vl_vv_mw
what quantity of spagnum moss do i need to make a 36 inch moss pole? the small one i can buy is for 8 liters and 36 inches is pretty big pole? will that me enough? the pole will end up being 50 bucks. but maybe in don't know how much spagmun moss expands too and that is the problem. thanks so much
Omg your cat! I’m cracking up 😂 love him! I don’t know how you do it though, my cats are plant destroyers! Plants have to be up or doors shut, it’s our sad reality.
😂😂 they’re pretty good for the most part. I’ve moved since this video but I have 3 and a separate plant space now. They’re not too nosey but I try to keep everyone out of reach ☺️
is there certain things to look for with the spagnum moss for the poles. there is like a month delay with the brand you recommend. i have never bought this type of thing and can't firgure out what to look for with a different brand maybe because of the delay. thanks and i love your videos, plants and all your help. i appreciate it.
Thank you! Any moss will be fine for poles you don’t have to get really expensive moss for it. The bag I use makes several 3 foot poles but I’m not sure how many liters it is 🙈
hey Melissa, I am new to moss poles and making them and all their supplies. I was having a hard time finding some and i inquired with a company called Mosser Lee and they said that it is a seasonal item! So that makes alot of sense why the price is so high. Do you think that the Mosser Lee moss would be ok to use? I do not want to put you in a spot to say anything negative. but perhaps if you could identify what to look for in a long fiber moss product then i can pick the best for the environment and the plant and my pocket book? i guess some advice on that topic is what i am asking. if my question is too much... I totally get that too. Time is very precious. I appreciate your channel and would truly understand. i appreciate your advise and have bought many of the products you have recommended. thanks again?! Especially the soil mix!!!! and bug spray stuff.
Hi! I’m just seeing this :) I’m not sure what the mosser lee moss is I’m not familiar with it. I’ll have to look that up! The orchid moss you can get at the hardware store is perfectly fine to use. I get some off Amazon and then the orchid moss so whatever I can get my hands on. Thank you for that!! I hope it went okay for you! 🥰

Why don't you use plastic anymore, if you don't mind me asking?!
Thank you for switching to wire!!
You can use paperclips to attach it to the pole too if your out of the pins

All the way from Sweden, thank you for all your tutorials. Really appreciate it and i’m learning so much🙌💚.
I have always wanted to learn thank you
Hi)) super lovely video 🥰How many separate plants are here? I counted 2))) i mean how many should plant in one pot?) 😘
The bloopers… I’m cracking up 😂😂
Thanks lovely for taking the time to show us🔥🔥❣️🌱 I’ve placed my order and for my very first Mican! I can’t believe I don’t have one yet.😁
You’re welcome!! Yay!! You’ll love having one! They’re so gorgeous! The leaves are velvety and love how big they are getting! ☺️
One of these days i will try this. Gona wait till spring! 🌺
Thank you so much for this video! Now I can make a moss pole for my climbing plants 🌱
You’re welcome! I make mine with wire now but I still loved using the plastic :)
This was interesting. I have seen plant people use moss poles, but never really knew how those were made. Maybe bobby pins would work on those?
The bobby pins do okay for the smaller vines but the they can squish them lol 😂
Love your Tutorials great job Your instructions are clear And I think your cat wants to be in your videos
Thank you! 😂🙏🏼
Thank you for such a detailed and helpful video! ☺️🌸
Loved the bloopers 😂
You are so welcome! lol I need to bring them back!
Hi Melissa thank you so much I enjoyed it very much.
i'm going to make my own moss pole🌿Muchas gracias! desde Argentina 🥰
🌸 thanks!!

Just wondering if you placed the pole against the back of the pot, would it give it a lil more stability? 🤔
nope! tried this! I don't make plastic poles anymore they're way too wobbly!

Can you show how to stake it so it doesn't fall over
Hey! This video is super old and I don't make these like this anymore. I have a dedicated playlist to "moss poles" with a lot of videos :D
