    These pieces are spotlessly beautiful. I’m mostly terrified of using a sprayer. So I really appreciate it’s the detailed all-through of using the sprayer by someone without much experience. Thank you!

    Maybe I’m wrong Jamie but I noticed using the sprayer that you used a serious amount of paint more than you would with a regular spray gun. There did seem to be a lot of waste with it too. The three pieces that you done turned out amazing as usual a brilliant job. Thanks again for sharing ❤

      @@allisonstevens7141 Thanks! This is an airless sprayer, which uses more paint than HVLP sprayers. Filling the pump and hose requires more paint, which can be a downside. However, the finish you get can be 'professional' since the paint atomizes better. Thanks for watching!

      No prob, and thanks Matt! Furniture is probably the smallest project I'd go with this sprayer, but any cabinets, fences, siding, walls, etc... anything that takes a bit of time, you'll finish it up quick with this sprayer. Perfect for house work! I think I'm going to get my dad one lol

      This is an airless paint sprayer, which is different from an HVLP sprayer (HVLPs are more common in furniture painting).
      Typically, airless sprayers are great for large projects because of their speed. So, you often see professionals using them to paint walls, ceilings, cabinets, fences, decks, etc.
      Other airless sprayers require the same steps as this one. Are airless sprayers the best for furniture? Well, that's subjective. They can arguably produce a more professional finish than HVLP sprayers. There is a bit more prep work, cleaning, and a few safety steps recommended when using airless sprayers. I chose to go into every bit of detail, so it may seem difficult with more steps, but once used a couple of times, airless sprayers are pretty simple! My biggest negative about using airless is the amount of paint they use
      -it can be costly. That's why I chose to paint three pieces of furniture in this video. Sponsorship aside, this airless sprayer works great and is affordable compared to similar big brand name models. Thanks for watching!

      @@FurnitureFlippa I did notice that it seems to waste a lot of paint, but as you so rightly point out, no size fits all. If this works for you and you find it does a great job, it is cost effective and hard wearing, then go for it. Everyone has their preference. I think my problem is that I’m lazy at heart. I just want something I can point and squirt lol. It did make a lovely job of the drawers, well done xx

    I am not a furniture painter, so this looks all very complicated to me. Going through the steps of setting up the spray painter seems like a lot.

    • @FurnitureFlippa
      @FurnitureFlippa  4 місяці тому +4

      The thing about paint sprayers is that they do require more prep work/cleaning than brushing or rolling (obviously haha) but the finish you get with a paint sprayer, when done correctly, is the best finish you can get when painting furniture. When I make paint sprayer videos I do my best to go through each step, showing exactly what to do, so someone who owns the specific sprayer can follow along. Here I go through everything so people don't have to ask many questions :) thanks for watching!

    Not trying to be condescending, just want to give you a few words of constructive feedback. Airless sprayers like that are essentially made for commercial and industrial type applications such as spraying entire houses or very large commercial or industrial spaces where you are using large volumes of finishes like paint or stain. Using one for finishing furniture is a huge waste of your finish, with the amount of overspray as well as the amount of paint or finish that gets cleaned out of the machine and hose is outrageous. You most likely could have used the paint and finish that was wasted on overspray or cleaning on many more projects. If you like using a sprayer to finish small projects use a HVLP, or spray gun with a compressor you will save a ton of wasted material as well as save a huge amount of time cleaning it out. I know it’s exciting to have companies want to give you free tools to showcase in your videos, but be picky and mindful of what you show your audience as well as recommend. The final products looked really good though! Can’t wait to see what’s next!

    • @FurnitureFlippa
      @FurnitureFlippa  4 місяці тому +3

      Thanks for your feedback. I know airless sprayers use a lot of product, I mentioned how much paint was used and told people to keep that in mind.
      I’m also aware of the difference in sprayers, I have videos on the Wagner Flexio and the Homeright SFM.
      Airless sprayers do give a great finish on furniture, one of the best furniture painters, That Shabby Guy, uses one and has been for years!
      I wanted to note that I don’t do these videos for free products, working with companies allows me to do this as a full time job - with that being said, I am mindful of what I share with my audience and what partnerships I take on - I aim to provide a variety of helpful tips and tricks for refinishing + restoring furniture, with tools of all different price points. Thanks for watching, I have some restoration videos coming up and hope to see you there!

      To each his own. I am a furniture restorer and cringe at the sight of folks painting some antique furniture, but it’s theirs to do what they wish with. You can’t argue that they turned out amazing! Plus the furniture he was painting weren’t solid wood, mostly pressboard and plywood with veneer on top none of it was antique.
