I'm still so mind boggled how this game axed Wonder Woman in the same story they introduced the character after her being the one hero in this game that isn't the butt of weird edgy humor.
Most of the crew who worked for Rocksteady at the time the og Arkham Trilogy was made had long since left anyways. So of course anything Arkham related coming out now is a pale imitation anyways. Any passion for DC comics or Batman himself is long gone. It's all about the paycheck and pushing messages now.
Unfortunately yes. The higher ups who pushed this game, whether it's just the co-founders who left (and took a bunch of their prior teammates with them) or the top WB executives (Depends who you ask who pushed it) damaged the reputation here.
@@DegenerateJay Based off of everything I've read about this games production, there's plenty of blame to go around whether it's Warner Bros forcing Rocksteady to make another super hero game when the developers were dealing with burn out, the developers having no prior experience in making a live service and decided to not consult anybody who did have experience about what to do. The team that wrote the story and decided to leave the reveal about the Justice League being alive hidden in DLC. There's just so many examples and if it wasn't for NDA's I'd love to see a documentary about this games development with interviews with various team members about everything that went so wrong.

Actually I posted a comment about this game on a community post and someone responded to me that I should try to give this game another chance even though I've never played it due to the poor handling of pretty much everything. I didn't really think about it at the time but that was probably one of the few people who loved this game. Before you ask I let them down as gently as possible telling them why I couldn't.

I always thought that one was a bit up in the air though. Unless I missed something all they found was a little blood and his mask. He might be dead though and that was a dangling plot thread for whatever reason.

It's still forgotten anyways. That's the laughy part. As Jay said, only when someone mocks it is when people bring it up. It failed so miserably, 'tis glorious. Anyone with half a brain knew the JLA wouldn't actually be killed off. Not really. This was just another stunt pulled to push some messaging through.
Anyone else find it hilarious that Green Lantern, the flash, and even Superman needed the squad to cause enough damage to brainiac’s ship to free them… but Batman was seemingly able to escape on his own Damn. Even the game that tried to kill him in the most humiliating way possible can’t help but give this guy MVP status

Respectfully disagree. I honestly think Paul Dini’s plans for Arkham Knight were very shallow and Hush’s buildup in City doesn’t really make sense after re-evaluating. The people who wrote KTJL list their edge after Arkham Knight.
Kind of crazy how heavy his involvement helped elevate the prior games before Knight too. Idk if you're aware, But he did work heavily on the Batman The Adventures Continue DCAU comics in recent years. So if you're a fan of his work, I know a lot of people don't know about those comics, I would check them out. Pretty fun.

@@DegenerateJay There was never a full confirmation of everything he planned outside of Scarecrow, Hush and Harley having a baby. But honestly, I don’t think his ideas would’ve been good either way. Like the Hush mission in Arkham City relies on a lot of contrivances like Hush leaving bodies out in the open for Batman when he could’ve hid them in much better places like the sewers and Batman giving up on chasing Hush when it can take him like three minutes to catch up and catch him. So it’s my unpopular take that we’re better off with what we got in Knight.
If there is any justice Red Hood will kill Harley. It was absolutely gross seeing them glorify Arkham Harley who is without a doubt the most evil version of her.
Here’s my question: is Robin still dead? Technically, we don’t see a body, but the scene with his bloody mass on the ground definitely is supposed to imply he’s dead. Although I guess you could argue, maybe Robin was bleeding a lot and lost his mask, but managed to slip away from clone Batman. I mean, if this Batman can lose to four morons with some rusty old guns, something tells me the clone doesn’t quite live up to the original.
I'm glad the Justice League is alive, WB now have the option to redeem themselves with some stand alone games for the JL members. The OPTION. Although now they have a Batman with no voice, which is heartbreaking.
Which brings me to my next point if Brainiac can clone metahumans like flash and a green lantern ring and a freaking Kryptonian then why not make an Army of them???
I think the Arkham Shadows Devs, Camouflage, should develop the next Batman game or just any DC Game in general. Rocksteady has tarnished their own reputation.
Makes sense to head canon this out of the Arkham franchise, because it already does that on it's own with the amount of contradictions to the previous games, and it wasn't created by the people that made the trilogy.
Even Wonder Woman's "death" doesn't have to be permanent. Sure, their universe's version of her is dead, but with the multi-verse now open to them as a deus ex machina, couldn't they just find a version of her who lost everything but survived and bring her to their Arkham World as a replacement? Not that it matters. I, like Jay, knew all along there wasn't a snowballs chance they'd let the JLA's death in it's entirety last. They knew they couldn't stand the backlash so of course they'd be forced to backpedal. Why do you think most of the management in charge of the early game production fled long before? Thankfully, this game isn't even real in my eyes. Just another "what not to do" model for a gaming IP. That's all. It's not cannon, it doesn't exist. I'm still waiting on a TRUE Arkham Knight sequel, thank you very much. And I'd like some Arkham pre/sequel games that fill in some timeline gaps between Origins and Asylum. This last, sad "nail in the coffin" for KTJL just confirmed that this game really was a lame joke from the Woke crowd. Another loss in their column.
Sadly it will still not be the same Wonder Woman from that earth that was familiar with that earths green lantern, Superman, Flash, Batman. Just cause another Wonder Woman exists doesn’t take away the history that Wonder Woman had with that league. Vice versa it’ll be a whole new league to even Wonder Woman and the Diana that was killed is permanent.
I don't care what Rocksteady says, I will never accept this game as my head canon. For me (and most likely majority of Arkham fans out there), this game never happened. I do think the devs; well at least the ones at the top, such as Rocksteady founders Sefton Hill & Jaime Walker, deserve to get the blame though? I mean people love to shift the blame towards WB with this matter, but at the end of the day, Hill & Walker both knew what the story of this game was gonna be, given it was done with their supervision. It's just that they jumped ship to form their company so remaining devs are left to take brunt of the blame. Honestly, even if this game had Suicide Squad collaborating with Justice League to fight alt universe villains like Justice Lords, I'm not even sure it would have sold as well, cause I just don't think people care about Suicide Squad all that much. Probably should have just made it a Justice League game instead I think. Well, at least it's put out of its misery now lol.

They "killed the Justice League" in the most shocking and disrespectful ways possible and pissed people off, but they don't even commit to it in the end. So the game was pointless essentially.

8:56 honestly I thought the same thing after playing the story mode. Since they decided to involve the Multiverse in this game, why not just have the evil justice league be from another universe? Heck, I would love it if there was a “choose your own adventure” style narrative, where the boss fights play out where the good and the bad version of a league member fight, and you get to choose in real time who you want to support Do you want to bring kryptonite to the fight between Ultraman and Superman to help the crime syndicate (since kryptonite actually makes Ultraman stronger) or will you bring solar light guns to weekend Ultraman and make Superman stronger?
I had a hunch they were gonna pull this trick...kill the heroes for the as you said it shock value...but then expected people to actually stick around, buy ALL the season pass stuff play more of the exact same game using DLC characters that all again play exactly the same only to get to the end and learn...ta dah see none of your heroes are dead! Now you can stop being mad at us...this entire game was a mastercraft on what NOT to do game mechanic wise (another hero shooter in the sea of hero shooters) and writing wise (killing off favourite heroes, expecting the player to STILL stick around after doing so and only then can they learn everything got taken back)
When the teaser dropped I knew for a fact that it was not a good idea and that it was gonna flop. And it was so disheartening seeing so many fans being excited for it because the idea for the game really just makes no sense.
To answer your question, no I do care that Batman is back. I do not care that the evil Justice League were clones and I do not about any games that takes place after KTJL. No amount of backtracking will fix how dogshit this game already. Batman is already character assassinated by coming out of hiding after Arkham Knight, the Suicide Squad (not to be confused with the Squad from Assault on Arkham who are arguably way better) are awful characters after they done stuff like putting bombs into kids and Wonder Woman, Earth 1 Lex Luthor and Robin are still dead. This game has the worst story I’ve ever seen in fiction and nothing can remedy that. I honestly don’t think this game had any good ideas in paper and the Suicide Squad probably aren’t good enough to even carry their own game. If they really wanted an evil Justice League game, I would’ve done two options. One is a Teen Titans vs Justice League game that isn’t set in the Arkhamverse. It would be about the young heroes facing impossible odds in saving their mentors. Two is make an actual sequel to Arkham Knight, but it’s about Batman emerging from the shadows to save the mind controlled Justice League. It would be called Justice League: Doom and I know it’s not original, but it fits since it’s Batman using contingency plans against the League. Also, either option would have Starro or Despero as the villain. Brainiac doesn’t really work as the mind control guy outside of Lego Batman 3 and that one episode of Superman: TAS. As for the Arkhamverse right now, I would only be excited for a game set between Origins and Asylum involving the Bat Family. Otherwise, they should just leave this universe behind.
Ok, this seems to be my last chance to say this but I’ve had an idea of what they could’ve done if Rocksteady made a Justice League game, ideas about characters, gameplay, even a bit of story: Background info: Takes place 5 years after Arkham Knight, earlier the JLA reformed to stop a massive threat (which forced Batman back into the light again), the JLA was formed once before but disbanded shortly before Arkham Asylum, the playable League members are the same in SS but there will be references to other JLA members that just aren’t there. Story: My idea for the story is that the Justice League opens the Hall of Justice for the people to celebrate the League returning, but that same day there’s an invasion. The crime syndicate have invaded Earth 1, later after meeting Lex Luthor from Earth 3 we learn they are trying to build a bomb that could destroy an entire planet (I’m taking most of my ideas from JL animated movie). At the end after the League each defeats a member of the Syndicate, Owlman takes the bomb to a different Earth & Batman follows, so the final fight will be Batman vs Owlman. Characters: - Batman: He will have similar gameplay that was in Arkham Knight, free flow combat, predator, etc. the only thing I would change is his traversal, instead of gliding or driving the Batwing, he will have a jetpack that uses his cape for the wings so he can fly, this is so Batman can keep up with the rest of the League - Superman: He will have free flow combat too & his powers (heat vision, super breath, etc.) Superman will obviously fly but I he will have a health bar - Wonder Woman: Very similar to Batman, combat & all that, she will also be able to fly as well - Green Lantern: GL can use his ring for basically all his moves for combat, traversal, & he’s the only character that can generate a shield - Flash: He will be the fastest character but also the only character that can’t fly, so he will use his speed to jump across buildings & large distances Enemies: The bosses of the game will be the Crime Syndicate, each member will mirror a League member, and the goons in the map will each have a power belonging to a random DC character (Black Canary’s scream, Flash’s speed, etc.) that way characters that are usually invincible *cough* Superman *cough* can take damage, and this will be a threat only the Justice League can stop Sorry if it was a bit long, I’ve just had this on my mind for a while now, and the reason I’m making it so the JLA was formed once before is so if this game had been made we could’ve gotten another game where the JLA first forms to stop Starro
This game should be scrubbed from the Canon, and make a game where batman comes out of retirement and goes to metropolis with the batfamily to save the justice league and the world from brainiac. (Nutshell version of my idea for the next game). As you find justice league members, they are added to characters you can play as.
I'm ready for the Arkhamverse to be done. My dream is for the Arkham Asylum remake to secretly end differently and take new sequels in a whole new direction. That is, since that's a thing we're getting anyway. The pros to this would be 1) you can entirely get rid of the final boss and replace it with something else. 2) you can continue "Arkham" without the baggage of the preexisting games. I'd like to just reboot and get away from Arkham and have a new Batman game series that evolves the combat and stuff further, but Arkham is such a brand of its own, I think of it as a good compromise
Honestly Jay, I stopped caring for this game when it was announced that the gameplay would be looter shooter based and a live service model. Just goes to show that most games are lazily made and aren't made for people who actually care to have a good story and good gameplay to match. I'm afraid of whatever future this franchise will have going forward.
I think it's too late the damage is already done, a lot of people will meet this with apathy, remember that this is basically kevin conroy last performance as the Arkham Batman and the character didn't get to go on high note and when the character returned, it didn't return with his voice, so it's just not going to be the same.
I mean, technically yes, I do care because I love the arkham series and I want batman to live. The issue is, what's even the point now? Where can they go from here? They could make a new arkham game, but, idk. I guess maybe an arkham game set before batman joins the Justice League. See how he met them and was convinced to join.
Considering this is the ending they decided to go with, if they hadn’t essentially drip fed the main story people likely still would have been disappointed in the game but gone ah that’s stupid and then been interested to see the els-worlds which then could have been given in the live service format, but they wanted the shock factor of Killing the Justice League in hopes that’d draw people in to fund the rest of the story
Plus they really should have gone more out there with the els-worlds and done zombies, vampires, everyone’s a fish person or a robot, even if they didn’t have ideas for new stuff theirs so many different variant universes in the comics already to pull from
This game is a joke - revealing that the Justice League is still alive in a motion comic rather than a cutscene is just the cherry on top for how little this studio cared about their own characters
Batman does fake his death a lot so I don’t think this is like a problem or anything it’s just that fan bases they get all upset before stuff gets any reason why it happened and I understand. I just glad that it’s canon and that he didn’t actually die.
At this point the dumb flashpoint ending that was going around before release would've been preferable; Them being alive doesn't mean much. Batman's Family is possibly still dead, world is in ruins, Wonder Woman is dead, and Arkham Cannon has lost any sense of Groundedness it had along with it feeling disrespected still. Also don't know if he has a Audio tape or something added in this update but I don't think we've heard any of the recordings Kevin did for this game's post game that they said they did.
It's insanely depressing to think sucide squad started off with a beautiful ggi trailer that persented a fairly promising game to ending off with a cheap 2D art cutscene, narriated by harley's annoying ass dialog. They really did waste rocksteady's 10 years of work and time, and that's a downright tragedy.
Am I alone in saying if the enemy variety and writing was far better the game would have lasted much longer? It would have also been far more respected.
They may have tried to write themselves out of the corner they originally wrote themselves into... But the damage is still kind of done. Wonder Woman is still dead dead so unless you want to do stupid multiverse stuff again, you can't do anything with her already. You could use Flash, but that would again contribute to the problem of him only ever being pulled out when WB is panicking and needing to hit the reset button. Arkham Knight still had the perfect ending set up for a Batman Beyond-esque followup, and ending for this Batman in general, but they decided to do a "he's dead, wait nevermind he's fine" which is just _dumb_ I just don't understand why WB is so allergic to Batman Beyond. You could get even more games/stories/you know, money out of the torch being passed to the next generation (and not to mention, Arkham Shadow and the rumored Asylum remake prove other studios could pick up the slack) and getting games on other characters, but they just decided for the most nuclear solution possible and tanking any goodwill the studio had
I would say it gives peace of mind to fans that I believe we deserved and I was not to angry with the ending I believe that we should have gotten more closure maybe a 3d animation and not a motion comic

I couldnt WAIT to get a PS5 to play the new Rocksteady game. Finally got a PS5 over Christmas and have NO desire to play this game. Im hoping Gotham Knights is a sleeper like Arkham Origins was. People ripped it but I enjoyed it. Ill play it when I can pry the console outta my sons room

Honest I think this game could have done better as an Injustice 3. Superman became Brainac in the bad ending so killing already evil versions should be less outrageous. In truth this game wasn't given the budget to be good which makes me sad because I bought this game from the jump expecting it to be great.
I was watching this video on my TV and I don’t know if I’m the only one but just watching the gameplay the UI is giving me a headache. How did anyone play-through this to the end without pain medication? Lol. Great points by the way, I don’t consider this cannon at all personally. I think it’s gonna get retconned as there’s no value in keeping it cannon. I thought Arkham Knight’s writing was a little lackluster but it’s not so bad I’d consider it non cannon. This though? Sorry for the length For me, the game didn't disrespect Batman, or Kevin Conroy, it disrespects the Batman Arkham fans who loves the character(s). I truly believe that there can be another good live service superhero game (outside of Marvel Rivals). It just needs a good studio that worked with live service games before and good communication/marketing. I do like the gameplay (traversal and gun handling) but there was no mission variety at all. I do like the Performances, with Lawless being an exception. I do like the graphics but it is a little worse than Arkham Knight. I do like that the Justice League is back but its weird to me that Wonder Woman is not back. I would have thought that they would have brought her back. (She still can as she was made from clay). Bad characterization: I believe that Batman still went to the Brianiac ship as he knew he would get outvoted by other JL members. He wanted to meet the Brianiac in person. Superman sees the good in people. Always. That is why he's so trusting. He sees the bright side of everything. Would also be weird to the public if the JL didn't go to the ship. "Who and what is that in the sky?" type thing. For future games after this one: Batman Beyond game, a proper JL game, more prequel games (none of these being live service) I do think that the game has its problems though (the lack of content, mission variety, in game store cosmetics). the story is mid. Final game score: 5 or 6 out of 10.
Glad to hear Arkham Batman isn't dead. But really, it's irrelevant. All the OG's from Rocksteady are with other companies and RIP Kevin Conroy 💔. I would love a sequel to Arkham Origins with that cast. But I don't trust current Rocksteady at all

Ive been playing the arkham games since i was 7 years old. Beat each cou tless times and originally hated ssktjl, but i find it fun to js free roam as the joker or deadshot and kill shi I decide to ignore this game due to the asa writing. But i really think arkahm shadow was peak arkham, i think camouflage could really so something good with this universe, weather it be vr or console
This game needs to be studied on how to turn your fanbase against you how to fail a beloved series how to be completely disconnected from your playerbase and how to horribly design a hud your gameplay and your story the characters suck everything about this game utterly sucks
I’m gonna be the weird one I liked the game. It was not perfect but I did enjoy it I loved playing with my friends we had a good time and that’s maybe why I did like it. I don’t wanna argue I’m not saying “oh yall are dumb it’s good” me personally I enjoyed this game.
Hey mate I didn't leave even though I enjoyed the game, I wouldn't say its amazing but I found enjoyment also I didn't get butthurt by the taking out of the JL because I'm not an arkham wankboy I never got into the game for me it was boring to the shock of my best mate who is a mega DC guy lol. I'm happy for the people who love SS that its going to at least still live and not be deleted for me also because I am 2 story arch's behind in it but yeah to answer you nah I don't care they are alive or not I enjoyed the game and thought it was a great twist that they took them out and not being big into comics but from what I understand they have all died 100 times already anyway so i never saw the big deal 😁👍

You control how you make them by them Dying by your hands,,,other Orcs and they come back better & different and their stats improve too.... Plus you youself create special Orcs by letting them kill you or they legit kill you. They get promoted..... Now i wanna replay SOW....iT HAS THE 4K patch on XboxOne SX. Actually I posted a comment about this game on a community post and someone responded to me that I should try to give this game another chance even though I've never played it due to the poor handling of pretty much everything. I didn't really think about it at the time but that was probably one of the few people who loved this game. Before you ask I let them down as gently as possible telling them why I couldn't.

Respectfully disagree. I honestly think Paul Dini’s plans for Arkham Knight were very shallow and Hush’s buildup in City doesn’t really make sense after re-evaluating. The people who wrote KTJL list their edge after Arkham Knight.
Kind of crazy how heavy his involvement helped elevate the prior games before Knight too. Idk if you're aware, But he did work heavily on the Batman The Adventures Continue DCAU comics in recent years. So if you're a fan of his work, I know a lot of people don't know about those comics, I would check them out. Pretty fun.

@@DegenerateJay There was never a full confirmation of everything he planned outside of Scarecrow, Hush and Harley having a baby. But honestly, I don’t think his ideas would’ve been good either way. Like the Hush mission in Arkham City relies on a lot of contrivances like Hush leaving bodies out in the open for Batman when he could’ve hid them in much better places like the sewers and Batman giving up on chasing Hush when it can take him like three minutes to catch up and catch him. So it’s my unpopular take that we’re better off with what we got in Knight.
If there is any justice Red Hood will kill Harley. It was absolutely gross seeing them glorify Arkham Harley who is without a doubt the most evil version of her.

Technically, we don’t see a body, but the scene with his bloody mass on the ground definitely is supposed to imply he’s dead. Although I guess you could argue, maybe Robin was bleeding a lot and lost his mask, but managed to slip away from clone Batman. I mean, if this Batman can lose to four morons with some rusty old guns, something tells me the clone doesn’t quite live up to the original.

Makes sense to head canon this out of the Arkham franchise, because it already does that on it's own with the amount of contradictions to the previous games, and it wasn't created by the people that made the trilogy.

Even Wonder Woman's "death" doesn't have to be permanent. Sure, their universe's version of her is dead, but with the multi-verse now open to them as a deus ex machina, couldn't they just find a version of her who lost everything but survived and bring her to their Arkham World as a replacement?
Not that it matters. I, like Jay, knew all along there wasn't a snowballs chance they'd let the JLA's death in it's entirety last. They knew they couldn't stand the backlash so of course they'd be forced to backpedal. Why do you think most of the management in charge of the early game production fled long before?
Thankfully, this game isn't even real in my eyes. Just another "what not to do" model for a gaming IP. That's all. It's not cannon, it doesn't exist. I'm still waiting on a TRUE Arkham Knight sequel, thank you very much. And I'd like some Arkham pre/sequel games that fill in some timeline gaps between Origins and Asylum.

Sadly it will still not be the same Wonder Woman from that earth that was familiar with that earths green lantern, Superman, Flash, Batman. Just cause another Wonder Woman exists doesn’t take away the history that Wonder Woman had with that league. Vice versa it’ll be a whole new league to even Wonder Woman and the Diana that was killed is permanent.

I do think the devs; well at least the ones at the top, such as Rocksteady founders Sefton Hill & Jaime Walker, deserve to get the blame though?
I mean people love to shift the blame towards WB with this matter, but at the end of the day, Hill & Walker both knew what the story of this game was gonna be, given it was done with their supervision.
It's just that they jumped ship to form their company so remaining devs are left to take brunt of the blame.
Honestly, even if this game had Suicide Squad collaborating with Justice League to fight alt universe villains like Justice Lords, I'm not even sure it would have sold as well, cause I just don't think people care about Suicide Squad all that much.

They "killed the Justice League" in the most shocking and disrespectful ways possible and pissed people off, but they don't even commit to it in the end. So the game was pointless essentially.

Heck, I would love it if there was a “choose your own adventure” style narrative, where the boss fights play out where the good and the bad version of a league member fight, and you get to choose in real time who you want to support
Do you want to bring kryptonite to the fight between Ultraman and Superman to help the crime syndicate (since kryptonite actually makes Ultraman stronger) or will you bring solar light guns to weekend Ultraman and make Superman stronger?
I had a hunch they were gonna pull this trick...kill the heroes for the as you said it shock value...but then expected people to actually stick around, buy ALL the season pass stuff play more of the exact same game using DLC characters that all again play exactly the same only to get to the end and learn...ta dah see none of your heroes are dead! Now you can stop being mad at us...this entire game was a mastercraft on what NOT to do game mechanic wise (another hero shooter in the sea of hero shooters) and writing wise (killing off favourite heroes, expecting the player to STILL stick around after doing so and only then can they learn everything got taken back)
When the teaser dropped I knew for a fact that it was not a good idea and that it was gonna flop. And it was so disheartening seeing so many fans being excited for it because the idea for the game really just makes no sense.

To answer your question, no I do care that Batman is back. I do not care that the evil Justice League were clones and I do not about any games that takes place after KTJL. No amount of backtracking will fix how dogshit this game already. Batman is already character assassinated by coming out of hiding after Arkham Knight, the Suicide Squad (not to be confused with the Squad from Assault on Arkham who are arguably way better) are awful characters after they done stuff like putting bombs into kids and Wonder Woman, Earth 1 Lex Luthor and Robin are still dead. This game has the worst story I’ve ever seen in fiction and nothing can remedy that.
I honestly don’t think this game had any good ideas in paper and the Suicide Squad probably aren’t good enough to even carry their own game. If they really wanted an evil Justice League game, I would’ve done two options. One is a Teen Titans vs Justice League game that isn’t set in the Arkhamverse. It would be about the young heroes facing impossible odds in saving their mentors. Two is make an actual sequel to Arkham Knight, but it’s about Batman emerging from the shadows to save the mind controlled Justice League. It would be called Justice League: Doom and I know it’s not original, but it fits since it’s Batman using contingency plans against the League. Also, either option would have Starro or Despero as the villain. Brainiac doesn’t really work as the mind control guy outside of Lego Batman 3 and that one episode of Superman: TAS.
As for the Arkhamverse right now, I would only be excited for a game set between Origins and Asylum involving the Bat Family. Otherwise, they should just leave this universe behind.
Ok, this seems to be my last chance to say this but I’ve had an idea of what they could’ve done if Rocksteady made a Justice League game, ideas about characters, gameplay, even a bit of story:
Background info: Takes place 5 years after Arkham Knight, earlier the JLA reformed to stop a massive threat (which forced Batman back into the light again), the JLA was formed once before but disbanded shortly before Arkham Asylum, the playable League members are the same in SS but there will be references to other JLA members that just aren’t there.
Story: My idea for the story is that the Justice League opens the Hall of Justice for the people to celebrate the League returning, but that same day there’s an invasion. The crime syndicate have invaded Earth 1, later after meeting Lex Luthor from Earth 3 we learn they are trying to build a bomb that could destroy an entire planet (I’m taking most of my ideas from JL animated movie). At the end after the League each defeats a member of the Syndicate, Owlman takes the bomb to a different Earth & Batman follows, so the final fight will be Batman vs Owlman.
Characters:
- Batman: He will have similar gameplay that was in Arkham Knight, free flow combat, predator, etc. the only thing I would change is his traversal, instead of gliding or driving the Batwing, he will have a jetpack that uses his cape for the wings so he can fly, this is so Batman can keep up with the rest of the League
- Superman: He will have free flow combat too & his powers (heat vision, super breath, etc.) Superman will obviously fly but I he will have a health bar
- Wonder Woman: Very similar to Batman, combat & all that, she will also be able to fly as well
- Green Lantern: GL can use his ring for basically all his moves for combat, traversal, & he’s the only character that can generate a shield
- Flash: He will be the fastest character but also the only character that can’t fly, so he will use his speed to jump across buildings & large distances
Enemies: The bosses of the game will be the Crime Syndicate, each member will mirror a League member, and the goons in the map will each have a power belonging to a random DC character (Black Canary’s scream, Flash’s speed, etc.) that way characters that are usually invincible *cough* Superman *cough* can take damage, and this will be a threat only the Justice League can stop
Sorry if it was a bit long, I’ve just had this on my mind for a while now, and the reason I’m making it so the JLA was formed once before is so if this game had been made we could’ve gotten another game where the JLA first forms to stop Starro
This game should be scrubbed from the Canon, and make a game where batman comes out of retirement and goes to metropolis with the batfamily to save the justice league and the world from brainiac. (Nutshell version of my idea for the next game). As you find justice league members, they are added to characters you can play as.
I'm ready for the Arkhamverse to be done. My dream is for the Arkham Asylum remake to secretly end differently and take new sequels in a whole new direction. That is, since that's a thing we're getting anyway.
The pros to this would be 1) you can entirely get rid of the final boss and replace it with something else. 2) you can continue "Arkham" without the baggage of the preexisting games. I'd like to just reboot and get away from Arkham and have a new Batman game series that evolves the combat and stuff further, but Arkham is such a brand of its own, I think of it as a good compromise

Honestly Jay, I stopped caring for this game when it was announced that the gameplay would be looter shooter based and a live service model. Just goes to show that most games are lazily made and aren't made for people who actually care to have a good story and good gameplay to match. I'm afraid of whatever future this franchise will have going forward.

I think it's too late the damage is already done, a lot of people will meet this with apathy, remember that this is basically kevin conroy last performance as the Arkham Batman and the character didn't get to go on high note and when the character returned, it didn't return with his voice, so it's just not going to be the same.
It's not Rocksteady's fault. It's WB's. They did the exact same thing with Shadow of War.
Rocksteady still did one thing right, the environment and architecture but that isn't enough for them to gain our trust again.

Considering this is the ending they decided to go with, if they hadn’t essentially drip fed the main story people likely still would have been disappointed in the game but gone ah that’s stupid and then been interested to see the els-worlds which then could have been given in the live service format, but they wanted the shock factor of Killing the Justice League in hopes that’d draw people in to fund the rest of the story
Plus they really should have gone more out there with the els-worlds and done zombies, vampires, everyone’s a fish person or a robot, even if they didn’t have ideas for new stuff theirs so many different variant universes in the comics already to pull from
This game is a joke - revealing that the Justice League is still alive in a motion comic rather than a cutscene is just the cherry on top for how little this studio cared about their own characters
Batman does fake his death a lot so I don’t think this is like a problem or anything it’s just that fan bases they get all upset before stuff gets any reason why it happened and I understand. I just glad that it’s canon and that he didn’t actually die.
At this point the dumb flashpoint ending that was going around before release would've been preferable; Them being alive doesn't mean much. Batman's Family is possibly still dead, world is in ruins, Wonder Woman is dead, and Arkham Cannon has lost any sense of Groundedness it had along with it feeling disrespected still. Also don't know if he has a Audio tape or something added in this update but I don't think we've heard any of the recordings Kevin did for this game's post game that they said they did.
It's insanely depressing to think sucide squad started off with a beautiful ggi trailer that persented a fairly promising game to ending off with a cheap 2D art cutscene, narriated by harley's annoying ass dialog. They really did waste rocksteady's 10 years of work and time, and that's a downright tragedy.
So does this mean we'll get the next real installment in the Arkham series from Rocksteady and DC, Batman: Arkham Apology?

But the damage is still kind of done. Wonder Woman is still dead dead so unless you want to do stupid multiverse stuff again, you can't do anything with her already. You could use Flash, but that would again contribute to the problem of him only ever being pulled out when WB is panicking and needing to hit the reset button. Arkham Knight still had the perfect ending set up for a Batman Beyond-esque followup, and ending for this Batman in general, but they decided to do a "he's dead, wait nevermind he's fine" which is just _dumb_
I just don't understand why WB is so allergic to Batman Beyond. You could get even more games/stories/you know, money out of the torch being passed to the next generation (and not to mention, Arkham Shadow and the rumored Asylum remake prove other studios could pick up the slack) and getting games on other characters, but they just decided for the most nuclear solution possible and tanking any goodwill the studio had

Honest I think this game could have done better as an Injustice 3. Superman became Brainac in the bad ending so killing already evil versions should be less outrageous. In truth this game wasn't given the budget to be good which makes me sad because I bought this game from the jump expecting it to be great.

For me, the game didn't disrespect Batman, or Kevin Conroy, it disrespects the Batman Arkham fans who loves the character(s).
I truly believe that there can be another good live service superhero game (outside of Marvel Rivals). It just needs a good studio that worked with live service games before and good communication/marketing.
I do like the gameplay (traversal and gun handling) but there was no mission variety at all. I do like the Performances, with Lawless being an exception.
I do like the graphics but it is a little worse than Arkham Knight.
I do like that the Justice League is back but its weird to me that Wonder Woman is not back. I would have thought that they would have brought her back. (She still can as she was made from clay).
Bad characterization: I believe that Batman still went to the Brianiac ship as he knew he would get outvoted by other JL members. He wanted to meet the Brianiac in person.
Superman sees the good in people. Always. That is why he's so trusting. He sees the bright side of everything.
Would also be weird to the public if the JL didn't go to the ship. "Who and what is that in the sky?" type thing.
For future games after this one: Batman Beyond game, a proper JL game, more prequel games (none of these being live service)

I’m gonna be the weird one I liked the game. It was not perfect but I did enjoy it I loved playing with my friends we had a good time and that’s maybe why I did like it. I don’t wanna argue I’m not saying “oh yall are dumb it’s good” me personally I enjoyed this game.

~ROGER CRAIG SMITH & TROY BAKER hit a home run with Batman & Joker in my favorite Arkham Origins game...
~Someone else needs to handle Batman. Doesn't even need to be 'Arkham' Batman. Just the ARPG & combat style we love..
****My ultimate wishlist/want= Batman using the NEMESIS SYSTEM from Middle-Earth SHADOW of Mordor/War..
Imagine Batmans Minor Rogues Gallery being the Warchiefs. Think Mad Hatter,,Firefly,,Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum,,,
Calendar Man ,,,Victor Zsasz,, Killer Moth etc etc= They would be Warchiefs (it's random/Rogue Like & different every time..
~The captains who can be promoted to Warchiefs are regular unknown thugs who stand out for (insert RNG reason/stats)
~The Killer Crocs,,Joker,,Grundy,Freeze,,Penguin & ToeFace are part of the
overall main story so they wouldn't be part of the Nemesis system..
~There was an amazing Redit thread around 2019 about this.
After Monolith studios announced the LAME WonderWOman game nobody wanted.
That uses the Nemesis System. 5 YEARS and not 1 drop of Gameplay revealed..
BTW,,,If you never got into Middle-Earth Shadow Of War= it's an amazing game that has
so many hours of never ending gameplay becaus emaking Orc Captains & Warchiefs is addicting.
You control how you make them by them Dying by your hands,,,other Orcs and they come back better & different
and their stats improve too....
Plus you youself create special Orcs by letting them kill you or they legit kill you.
They get promoted.....
Now i wanna replay SOW....iT HAS THE 4K patch on XboxOne SX.
And PC takes it even further w/ mods.
