Jacob it's worth repeating, Vegas parties on a Monday night harder, longer and with better liquor than my town here of Indy. Vegas Sunday through Thursday is a damn good time.
Oh, hell yeah! Sunday - Thursday is the only time I go to Vegas. I can get on a craps table easier, lines are shorter, not as many boneheads and lop ears in town either. And it gets pretty cheap starting in April. Rock on!
This is my usual strategy to look for cheaper hotel rates after large events. There usually are good deals during Easter week and after. There were really good deals the week after the NFL Draft in 2020, but I cancelled due to the quarantine.
I've been going twice a year, one of those times for SEMA, so I don't get much choice on dates, but I also like March-April. Weather is good, prices still not bad, and a decent crowd.
@@jenniferwise8515 Thanks. that is where I intend to stay if I ever go to Vegas but first to pay off bills, get my cats their shots and then head back to Pittsburgh to see my family in 2022. I will see about going to Vegas in the winter. Air fares are cheap.
I remember Valentine's Day weekend 2021 was the first large uptick in the number of people coming to the Strip. May have been more pandemic-related than holiday-related. The crowds kept growing larger each weekend.
Used to attend annual Luxury Travel Expo held either the first or second week of December & rates were excellent. Other major event in town was the rodeo.
Booked a trip to Vegas on February 2nd just because I discovered I have over 11,000 Rapid Rewards points with Southwest. I remember losing a bunch of those points a few years ago because I never used them. My flight there is free, except for the tax. Hopefully, I got a good deal on my room, too.
I've been to Vegas several times during Christmas and while not "busy", there are certainly people there. Driving on Las Vegas Blvd at night is jammed. But getting around on foot or during the day is manageable. Indeed, it's a little colder at nighttime.
Another thing to factor in is The Raiders games. Like you said weekdays are cheaper that used to include Sunday nights because people there for the weekend leave then. Now you need to check their schedule because it can cause Sundays price to jump. Also can cause Monday and Thursday price to be higher if a home game is on those nights.
Except for last year, I've spent Christmas week in Las Vegas for almost a decade. There are plenty of shows, I don't do clubs or pools, and I can get reservations at good restaurants. I'm going next week, can't wait!
Jacobs exactly right: everything was critically shut down while the Covid virus was threatening everybody but like you said on the video, me and my sister waited until the summer, right when the restrictions were lessened for COVID-19 and I met you in the Flamingo lobby-& I KNEW I SAW YOUR VEGAS VIDS ON UA-cam ALL THE TIME🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳. Meeting you was the absolute highlight of my trip😄😄😄😄
For many years I came out to Vegas during the winter months, (I live in far western Michigan and I was always escaping our snow and sub-zero temperatures!), but have not visited since the pandemic. I have been "turned off" from going back to Vegas because of the myriad reports of the increased crime as well as the ever increasing prices! Please reassure me that, for a senior like me, age +70, I will be welcomed back in safety and reassured that the old Vegas is still around and ready to be enjoyed again.
We have visited Vegas a few times just before Christmas and Valentines Day. While I don't like a massive crowd bumping shoulder to shoulder, I found the strip busy enough with enough people you don't feel crowded but also not sparse. I would like to try to go when the weather is a bit warmer though...maybe in late March or early April. As always Jacob, your videos are informative and interesting .
I’m here right now, nothing and I repeat nothing is cheap! We went to Extravaganza show tonight for $94 each, stopped at Cabo Wabo and had nachos and a margarita each $61 with tip. Helicopter ride over the strip last night $200 Louis San Juan Wednesday night $85 at the V Theater You will get a free high from all the potheads walking the strip, I can guarantee that!
Thank you for this, Jacob. I will take this all into consideration for my trip next year. My husband and I are older and we would rather come when it’s cooler. The pro bowl 2022 is going to be in Vegas . November is a good bet for us…
Good point Jacob, that conventions normally scheduled during Jan/Feb (ie. CES) may not have the same volume of people for 2022, so looking into those months can fare to be more affordable than normal 👍 A friend recently attended SEMA earlier in the month and said it was a lot quieter/less people than years past for sure!
Great Vlog thx Jacobs. Very informative for me in UK as prices to Vegas from UK have sky rocketed for 2022 😳 Waiting for sales but great to now know best times to travel. Miss Vegas soo much 🥰🥰
I’m going during NCAA Conference Tournament Week (March 6-13, before March Madness). I heard the PAC 12, WAC, and Big West Conference Tournaments are in Vegas. Luckily, my whole week is comped (except 4 nights of resort fees). I was told that will be a busy week but also told that is isn’t busy because most people are on Spring Break elsewhere……I’ll find out soon.
Used to vacay in LV 2X a year for 10 yrs 2007-2017. Stayed Sun-Fri and in Spring and Fall. Not too Hot or Cold then. But getting older, we tired of the all day air travel ordeal from back east here. You really pretty much kill a whole day just getting there and again going home plus losing 3hrs with the time zones. I can drive door to door to Atlantic City in my own comfort in 3hrs flat. Have done that since the late 90's before finally going to check out Vegas. LV is just Great and AC ain't LV but it'll do.
Love coming to Vegas around Christmas…nice holiday vibe and …BIRTHDAY!! Be there in 30 days!! Remember those mirrored ceilings at IP??…..woof!! Used to like to stop by LV in March to escape grim Chicago winters but hate March Madness prices and now living in SE so weather isn’t such a horror early In the year.
I never come to LV June, July or August. It's too hot & overfilled w yahoos. I avoid weekends altogether, as rates are much more favorable during the week. One other thing- If I'm going to fly, I check the hotel rate if I bundle w my flight vs hotel & air fare separate. Bundling is almost always cheaper!
I've gone in June, July and August (so that's MISTER Yahoo to you buster LOL) and I will NOT go ever again in July. In July of last year, I walked from Silver Sevens (Flamingo and Paradise) all the way to Ellis Island. Maybe a half mile. Went to the bar and drank a lot of water and I mean a lot. It was horrible. Just walking from Gordon Biersch's to Silver Sevens was miserable. Had to stop at Bahama Breeze for a rum drink. And I never go except Sunday thru Thursday. Nice and cheap and hardly any lines. Except at Starbucks at the Bellagio of course. And I will pay to NOT go to the clubs so that's not a problem if they are closed.
@@MegaMkmiller , live & learn! I must admit, I have been to LV June & August; never July. Besides the heat, I avoid the crowds & jacked up rates of holidays like July 4 like the plague! The June trip, we tried to lay out by the pool but there were no shade spots. I was roasting so decided to go in the pool, but there were so many people in it I really couldn't swim. The August trip...well...I think it was just the only week of vacation I was able to get that year. I'm with you- never again!
Thanks for the information Jacob 🥰 Really helpful. I'm going in January, so it's gonna be interesting. I usually go to Vegas in March, April and October and 2 times a year. It's been 2 years since I was in Vegas last time, so i just had to book my vacation early this year, just can't wait any longer 😄. Keep posting videos 🤗☺️
Ok I scored a killer deal on flights from Chicago to Vegas on Southwest the 1st week of February, our flight comes in after midnight and the majority of rental car companies are closed, what's the cheapest and safest way to get from the airport to a hotel that late? I don't know what the city is now doing as far as Uber and lyft at the airport now, I know there was a battle with the cabbies and I got screwed on a cab once and don't know if they fixed the rate now or what the deal is! Thanks for these great videos from the view of a local and not a tourist. It would be really cool to meet you and Norma I follow her now too thanks to you and Matthew! Lol Always entertaining, informative, and positive and smiling! Thanks
Before the National Finals Rodeo came to Vegas, the town was a dead zone from Thanksgiving to Christmas. The only visitors were groups of little old widows the blue hair.
I booked 2nd week Sunday - Tuesday of April at Mirage for 200 I always book early and if I find it cheaper I call cancel and rebook which I was told years ago to do by a casino worker as I was checking in
Thanksgiving thru Christmas week, (excluding Christmas) used to be a great time for bargains. Not as much anymore. Lots of 2 for one's on Strip shows as well as buffets, especially at the locals' casinos. Station Casinos has turned their back on the locals market, which is an insult because Stations built their brand on the local's market and now they have given us the shaft by eliminating the perks that made them the favorite in the first place.
I know this is unrelated but gonna be coming and was wondering if there r any good places near downtown that has laundry services because my hotel does not. Thanks. Love listening to u while I do my morning walks
Jacob... Halloween is a little busier than you assume, especially downtown when it between Thursday and Sunday . The SEMA convention (think gear heads and grease monkeys) happens around that time and most of the downtown hotels are pretty crowded as a result. I was there a few weeks ago (birthday celebration) and Fremont Street was an absolute circus and a half on Saturday night, and still pretty busy on Sunday. The week after Halloween is when deals can be found imho.
Sleep lol...In all seriousness, if you've never been, then I would just pick a hotel or two that you would like to visit. You're going to be there in the very early morning hours, so some things you won't be able to see (Bellagio fountains, Mirage volcano), but you can still see the LV sign, or check out Fremont street, etc..
I'll be there for New Years Eve I'll be staying at Ballys...how do you think the crowds are going to be especially during Covid? I'm hoping NOT that congested btw I'll be getting around with a scooter...eventho I'm able to walk.. I just want to be able to keep up with my younger sister and niece. 😆

We were in Vegas over Thanksgiving in 2001. Most evenings, we were the only people walking on the strip. It was a weird feeling.
Coming to Vegas (for the first time since 2000 millennium) in slow December
Less crowd, less covid, cheaper rate, nice & cool weather 🤗
Best times ANYWHERE are the day after a holiday. Unless it falls on a Sunday. Happy Thanksgiving Jacob.
This is my usual strategy to look for cheaper hotel rates after large events. There usually are good deals during Easter week and after. There were really good deals the week after the NFL Draft in 2020, but I cancelled due to the quarantine.
These type of informations is only one reason why I follow you Jacob!!!
Thanks for a lot of reasons!!!
Hey Jacob, great Vlog, I totally agree. I have been to Vegas in Nov or Dec every year for the last 5 and its dirt cheap
Thank you Lance! It's not a bad time to be here!
I've been going twice a year, one of those times for SEMA, so I don't get much choice on dates, but I also like March-April. Weather is good, prices still not bad, and a decent crowd.
Yes sir!
Vegas's holiday decorations are much appreciated. We always go following Christmas till New Year. The more lights, trees and menorahs the better.
January after New years. $60 air fare and $60 a night rooms at a casino with no bs resort fees just off the strip with $14.99 prime rib.
Ellis Island?
