Viva Las Arepas and Tacos El Gordo are my jam. Both are among the best eats -- cheap or otherwise -- in Las Vegas. Don't sleep on the arepas, people!
Pro tip: There are several Tacos El Gordo locations -- including a new one south of the Strip off Las Vegas Boulevard, across from the Town Square mall -- that are equally as good as, and usually far less crowded than, the Center Strip location.

I LOVED a sandwich I got at Eataly, at Park MGM. Focaccia bread with a roasted pepper relish and a delicious meat. I don't think it was under $9, but it was soooo good!

Coronado Cafe at Southpoint reminds me of old Las Vegas late night eats that used to be on the Strip when they had alot of cafes at the hotels/casinos.
My fav Strip cheap eat is In N Out.

In-and-Out is a life saver every time I'm in Vegas. The one in the promenade is always a welcome sight late around 1am on a Fri/Sat night, when you have been drinking a lot and you haven't eaten for god knows how many hours. Bonus: It's always pretty interesting around this time too...never know what you are gonna see!!!
Shake Shack kicks its butt, though. It's just too far to walk to NYNY when I'm staying at Mirage and I've been walking the strip up and down all day.

I love In and Out but i avoid going there when im in Vegas. In n out is in the walking distance from where I live and Im in California. I can have that any day of the week. But I am now realizing how much of a privilege it is to have in n out next to my house in a walking distance. I was shocked how packed in n out was in Vegas where linq is way more than in n out next to my house.

The nice thing about Coronado Cafe at South Point is that it's a traditional sit down place, with servers and everything. I live on the other side of Vegas, but frequently catch movies at the AMC, near the airport. If the movie ends at midnight or later, you can bet I'm heading over to SP for some steak and eggs. BTW, the same meal, the other 18 hours of the day, is &18.99! Same portions and everything. I checked, and so can you. That half-pound cheeseburger with fries for five bucks is something else, too!

We had the South Point midnight to 6AM specials, strip steak and 2 eggs and potatoes for $6.45 and the steak was tender and good. Also the 2 eggs and ham steak was $4.45, also great.

48th and Crepes in NY NY is my favorite for a quick breakfast grab. They are cheap and the crepes are huge, definitely can't eat more than one. They have sweet crepes, meaty crepes, breakfast crepes. SO GOOD!

My favorite go to cheap eats is In N Out, Shake Shack, Viva Las Arepas (literally everything is good there), and Tacos El Gordo (really only think there Al Pastor is EXCELLENT, everything else is ok to good). I still think Sayulitas and Hash House A Go Go should be recognized as value eats. Prices maybe higher, but the portions at those places are like for 2-3 people lol. I got a Sayulitas Burrito thinking it was going to be a standard Mexican burrito, but it was HUGE. Baby sized burritos lol. Only was able to down half and Im a big man.

Thanks for all the tips for cheap eats. My favourite is still Oceans One. Their biscuits and gravy are delicious ! I drink decal coffee it’s so rare to find a good but theirs is very good. I think that Hash House is a fairly good deal as the portions are huge and very suitable for sharing.

First of all Dad and I love you guys. From Toronto. There for SEMA. We stayed in a dumpster for the 4 days there. But Circus Circus was in are budget for the the first time in Vegas. Our feet kept sticking to the carpet. BUT they did have Denny's and McDonalds a few minutes away. Any idea's on a cheap hotel close to the food places you listed, that's not far from the Convention center? What do you think of using the mono rail? How often does it run? I went to "Blueberry Hill". It's off the strip...but I think the uber ride was only around 9$ to get there(it's been awhile). The menu was exspansive- but cheap...especially coming from eating on the strip. Everything is homemade even the cakes- I bought a whole entire strawberry cake to take back with me. Lol
They serve breakfast,dinner,lunch. Most of their items were 11$-12$ on average but big portions and good.
It's open 24 hours.

Ok, imma bring up a maybe too easy grab as one of my favorite cheap eats in Vegas but hear me out…up front it’s Popeyes chicken and here’s why…it was one of my first jobs ever in the workforce, definitely first service industry job at age 14-15…quick note my daughter recently started her first service industry job at the age of 21. Why were my gen so hard working and persistent? Cause nothing was handed to us. My favorite part of this new thing called work was the free shift meal for which we were allotted like 20-30 minutes. Well this “restaurant” was a fairly well kept secret in my sleepy town and this was my introduction so every shift meal I was making my way around the menu and I couldn’t believe how yummy this food was…where were the crowds? Popeyes never really popped off in my little town of eagle river and years later I would find out why…but the managers were a husband wife team who let us know that the restaurant was closing down for lack of business. The wife found another job and talked most of us into going with her when she jumped ship a little early and let her man go down with an empty ship so to speak as he had no employees, no customers, he just had to try to steer her home in the most elegant way possible, just right into the ground.
So they still had a couple open in our big ol town next door, Anchorage Alaska. Sometimes I would want the nostalgia of trying all these new flavors sensations no one I knew seemed to be catching onto…so I would get in line at the drivethru and minimum wait would be an hour, they’d be out of everything but chicken and they be trying to do all mixy Matchy…I swear there is something internally wrong with their ordering system because they have too many secret recipes to let anyone make the food and it all comes premade frozen in huge bags but they can’t seem to stock for just general daily sales, and no matter what they will frack up your order…the lobby is even worse, every table filthy, out of cups and napkins, looks like a day care full of children went through like a hurricane and it’s one lady and a monkey doing everything in the back and one shy teenager up front who barely knows the menu or how to ring it up and he asks the lady running the show how to ring something in every single time and every item you order they are out…I’ve still never gotten to have a spicy chicken sandwich there because they are out but I saw them at treasure island and I couldn’t believe it….the line was moving pretty efficiently, the lobby was clean and I decided to try my luck in Vegas because I can’t even tolerate how bad it is here at home. Man they had almost everything on the menu hot and ready to go and I got my order in about 15 minutes which is so much improvement from an hour 15. My friend laughed at me for choosing fast food in Vegas but I mean every meal doesn’t have to be posh. I can eat a lot of lobster but I also dig other textures and flavors in my life. Totally worth it.
