Visited there from UK in early March and loved it and is our new favourite hotel in Vegas. Don't let the north location put you off as the monorail more than compensates a centre strip hotel. Clean, modern with super friendly staff at half the cost of similar luxury hotels on the strip. A must if you've never been and a must we return for a second time 👍
It's pretty cool to look at the Sahara Hotel today. Back in 1972 and 1973 my band The Gringos headlined in the Casbah Lounge. Back then it was more of a night club style lounge and we performed three shows a night. It's a trip to see what it has turned into.
@@thischannelisdeleted Yes, in fact do in part to the pandemic locking everyone down, we managed to figure out a way to begin recording and releasing new music again. I always appreciate that you give the staff shout outs in your videos, Jacob. It's a really solid thing to do for the people who work hard to make your stay enjoyable and I wish more Vegas UA-camrs would follow your lead.
Hey Jacob! I just stayed for four nights at the Sahara two weeks ago. I was in the Marra tower. My room was spotless. I didn't have any bad vibe about security but I had a car and was able to drive around town and didn't walk the area. I had a really great stay and would recommend to others. Keep up the great work!
I agree 100% with you, we’re from Knoxville, TN and we’ve stayed at Sahara 3 times and it just seems like it gets better each time. their entire staff is AMAZING!!!!! we like the fact that it is not a mega resort and that you can get from point A to point B very quickly, we also like that they have EV charging right there on the top deck of the parking garage. Las Vegas is our favorite place to vacation in most cases 2 to 3 times a year and Sahara is one of our favorite places to stay.
Omg that shower science was fire 🔥! I love how you cover so many important details of the casino/hotel! This video literally saves a traveler several hours of research for their stay at the Sahara! Great job Jacob!
My mouth watered when I heard Jacob mention Kobe Beef Steaks. When I was stationed in Okinawa back in '72-'73, myself and friends used to go to the best place for it so often, they knew what chef we wanted and he knew how we wanted our steaks cooked. :)
Oh, my. You got our attention with the shower opening. Wonderful comprehensive review. I recall walking barefoot through the casino and plying video poker with real coins nearly 20 years ago. It had become kind of funky but fun. This looks fancier and still fun. I recall when Caesars Palace had mirrors over the beds. Must have been racy. Made me dizzy looking up.
Thank you Jacob! Heading into Vegas this weekend and staying at the Sahara. I was a bit worried about the property because of the price I paid, but I know the Sahara will be just perfect thanks to your honest review. Your videos have given me the confidence to explore the town and enjoy my weekend in Vegas. Great vids! Keep it up!
My wife and I stay there almost every time we come to Vegas. The location lends itself to a very short car ride to Fremont St, and that is when taking the side streets. Also, the dealers are very good like the other staff you mentioned.
I noticed that was really easy to miss by housekeeping, blended right in. Might be helpful if there was a light in the fridge. Honest mistake by housekeeping, easily missed. Glad he didn't freak out. We're all human. Better that than problems in the bathroom lol😊
Sahara did an amazing job with all the additions and renovations. I think the property overall is a great spot to spend your vacation and the management really does try and pays attention to details. The downside is the location but with all the additions to the north end it’s a great spot. Love your video of the Sahara. Also last time I was at Sahara I got to meet Selena’s brother when getting my rewards card!
@@lewizzrocks yes but Sahara then did EVEN more renovations by redoing the front valet, the new built restaurants in the front and the azilo ultra pool plus they only kept the taco place, bazaar meats and the rooms the same mostly. Good place for a conference or smaller convention. Nice rooms, nice atmosphere. Always liked it. Crime is creeping closer. They used to have a fun Roller Coaster and a Car-racing themed restaurant that had way better food & service than the NASCAR restaurant across town.

I stayed at the Sahara last February - the room was fine - the operations were a little "off". The mobile check-in via the app didn't work then either - so it's not just you Jacob. I booked through a third party app because it was a lot cheaper than booking direct. Despite the blurb on their website about it always being cheaper to book direct! I called Sahara reservations direct to check why the third party app was cheaper than their website to be advised "it was contractual and price matching was not allowed"! It was also novel to be charged a compulsory "daily room cleaning service fee" when daily room cleaning was not available. I stayed for five nights without a room clean - no dramas, I didn't actually need a room clean (fresh towels were delivered on request) - so charging a compulsory tip for room cleaning was a little over the top. I got the standard automated feedback request and mentioned these and a couple of other admin type issues and to my surprise (given that I really didn't think it would be read) I got a response apologising for the reservations agent's error in advising me that the Sahara wouldn't price match a third party app room price. I was also refunded the tip for room cleaning that I didn't get! I'm sure that the compulsory tip is mentioned somewhere on their website - I just haven't found it. It's not the dollars that got to me - it was what I think is an underhanded additional fee being levied by this hotel. Since this episode I have found that number of other properties are doing the same thing. I'm a pretty good tipper in Las Vegas and have always left a daily tip for housekeeping - but in the future I don't know. I be a lot happier if I thought that the fees actually went to the housekeepers! But, as I say, the room and the stay were fine - the admin/operations are certainly lacking at the Sahara. Nice report though Jacob.

That's the third video I have seen where someone found old food in the mini fridge. I think it was Ruby that was actually run out of the room by bad odor from the mini fridge. Had to change rooms.
I prefer the smaller hotels over the massive 4000 room hotels. Just looking at the food prices and entry cost some of the attractions, not sure it's just vegas but it's overly expensive even for an Australian. I love Vegas hotels compare to the normal standard hotels in normal cities but it's hard to stay a week and really enjoy the city. I might need to look into Airbnb or short stay apartment.
That food was a bonus. I go to the Sahara at least once a week. Have eaten at all but the steakhouse, every food place is a good price and good food. Sports book is small though.
The location isn't the best. My fondest memory of Sahara is me and a friend talking to a cabbie and remarking that we were going to walk to Fremont. The cabbie told us the hell we were and ordered us to get into the cab. And yes the homeless wander around that area a lot and occasionally go into the hotel.
