I made it exactly as stated for breakfast this morning - OMG it is perfect!!!!!!!! i have never made bread machine bread successfully before now this is my go to - thank you and God bless
Bread Machine Bread
1 cup warm water + 1/4 cup warm water
1 tbspn oil
1 tspn salt
1 tbspn sugar
3 cups flour + 1/3 cup flour
3 tspn yeast (make a well)
cook for 3 hour white bread
THAT IS EXACTLY THE RECIPE!!! Thank you for writing that down!!
I use my bread machine every week and I love finding new recipes BUT I get very aggravated when people don't leave the recipe and amounts in the description below. I always skip to the next recipe. See I write the recipes down and if they are really good I share them with others BUT I don't have the time to watch, pause and write the recipe down.
I understand Thank you for your comment, it's at the back, so just screen shot it, thnk yo for writing.
Here’s an idea if u have a printer do copy & paste ingredient & instructions then I email it to myself & print. Saves headache.
It's in the transcript.
I haven't used my bread machine in a couple of years because I couldn't find a good recipe. I came across yours a couple of days ago and tried it yesterday and I love it so now it is my go to recipe and my grandkids love it.
Thanks for sharing ❤
You are so welcome! I truly mean it's the best I've ever found and so easy!
I just wanted to thank you for your straight forward recipe I checked 5 different videos and none of them were as good as yours . So thank you so much ❤
My sunbeam bread machine has an option for 1.0 lb or 1.5lb, for this recipe which one would I use?
Just brought this machine- tried the recipe in the booklet and bread didn't turn out any good- so I was going to bring the machine back - but decided to check youtube - and came across your video- OMG - you saved it! I've used this recipe now twice and the bread comes out awesome! Thank you for posting!
I love your kind comment, thank you for your support on my channel Shirley Mosher ! I know EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT! I've made so many recipes from those books, and this one I figured out is THE BEST! I call it: FRENCH COUNTRYSIDE BREAD. I don't know how to make it go bigger on UA-cam, but wish I could really share everywhere... it's fool proof! Thank you.
Thank you, thank you Rebecca……I was about to give up on my bread maker, when I found your video tutorial. I’m in England (Cornwall) and I toiled through lockdown having no success with my bread, but today I cracked it thanks to you.🥰👏🏻. Here’s to another 979 loaves before I need a new bread maker!
(I’ll have to go some- I’m 83 now😂)
I love your kind comment, thank you for your support on my channel Cornwall Crochet ! how great you are making bread now!! I love mine!!
Rebecca - Can you share a recipe for making bread in an instant pot? I think a lot more people have instant pots than have bread machines. You are helping so many people everywhere everyday, thank you- you are so positive in this time of uncertainty. Perhaps
showing people they can make their own daily bread might reduce some anxiety.
Thank you for your comment 1629 Citizen - so nice!m Love the instant pot bread idea! I'llcheck that out!
Can I use tap water or from the kettle?
Hi👩🍳
What type of flour?
Thank You 🌻
All purpose
Today when I went to drop off my granddaughter, her mom had a bread maker on the porch that she was going to get rid of, I asked her about and she gave it to me for free. The booklet of instructions was inside and she said that it works but she preferred to make bread with out the bread machine. Guess who is going to learn make bread at home now?
That’s right, one of your viewers. Me. 😊
Thanks for your videos.
ahwhh, so nice! Thank you Janitza W THIS IS EXCITING! I just got wind from a viewer that breadmakers have almost sold out, the one I used is, and the others are $350!!! wow!
Is it better to use olive oil and butter?
I made it as you did with my daughter. She is obsessed with bread. I’ve had this bread maker for years and. Haven’t found a recipe I like. Hopefully this will be our thing!
Wonderful! How did you like it?
It was amazing! Loaf was gone last night. Making another now! I even printed the recipe out and put it on a magnet adhesive strip for the fridge. Definitely our new go to recipe!
Also, we also thrifted our bread maker ☺️ $2 at a thrift store in a small town nearby.
That is awesome!!! I tape the recipe on the machine for my helper to do now. I leave out the Flour, Sugar, Salt, oil in easy reach, right next! The yeast in the fridge easy to find. then, it only takes 1 min to put it all in! Measuring cups too--- I only clean out the oil Tablespoon, since the others are dry ingredients. I'm so glad you like this!
what flour do you use bread flour or plain flour
Just found your channel i love my bread maker ! Will be trying your recipe. Question tho why the olive oil ? Can I use regular oil is there a difference ?
any oil at all is fine! or butter!
Thank you sooooo much! Can I substitute whole wheat flour? ❤❤❤
Love this entire video. Your personality is a winner and I love the information you provided during the video. I bought a bread maker yesterday and currently trying your recipe. The dough is kneading as I type this into a beautiful ball. I’m excited to try this
I made the bread, it came out perfect, thank you so much.
Awesome! Thank you! TIP: IF YOU keep your breadmaker on the counter -- with your cannisters of flour, sugar, oil near and salt --then yeast in a glass jar HANDY in the fridge, you will get to a 30 second routine. The cost, if you buy your flour and yeast in bulk, is only 50 cents a loaf and you can have fresh bread every day. This is how I raised my kids, every day when they got home from school, this was their snack with peanut butter, honey, etc, or with dinner. It was so special, made the house smell good and so cheap! I bought all my breadmakers then from thrift stores, $5 each. they each lasted about a year and I was always on the look out for them and had them stocked up in my garage, no joke. I didn't care the age or the model they all work about the same. thank you for writing me.
I'm so happy!!
I just happened to find this recipe on my UA-cam news feed and I happen to have a bread machine and all the ingredients. Yep you guessed it I'm making bread right now using your bread recipe this is the second time I've watched the video LOL. It took me less than 45 seconds to put this recipe together.
Truly -- it only takes 45 seconds!! I TOTALLY AGREE!!! IF you put the ingredients on the counter, that's all it will ever be!! I keep mine RIGHT NEXT to my breadmaker and make this all the time!!!! So great to get your message, thank you.
This bread looks great! I have a machine that has maybe double the pan size with two mixing paddles. It can do 1000g, 1250g and 1500g loaves. I need to figure out how to alter the recipe, but im terrible at that... 😢
I actually proof my yeast with half of the sugar for about 10 minutes, and then I pour the yeast mixture into the bread machine pan. Then I add the oil, and the remaining ingredients. I also add 2-1/2 tsp. of dough enhancer to my flour mixture and you end up with a loaf of bread with a better texture and a long shelf life. Dough enhancer I purchased off of Amazon.
You bring up a good point @Ladydiodes , thanks for writing, I hope you keep commenting on my videos.
Love your energy and your explanation!
Yes! I bought two bread machines for $30 at the thrift store and one of them is a T-Fal! They are quite expensive, and I'm a newbie. So this is great! Maybe one day I will get a shiny new one, but for now I'm happy with it.
Great tip! This is so great, glad you got 2!! Those were both really good deals! Did you make this recipe yet? Get back to me I'd love to hear how you liked this recipe!!
@@RebeccaBrand Guess what! I made your bread, and it came out great! Thank you!
I just got a bread maker today and decided to look up some videos while i was waiting for it to finish making my first loaf and now I wish I had done that before! Definitely going to give this a try after this first loaf recipe from the manual finishes
I can't believe I finally made a good loaf of bread!!! Yay!
I have tried different cookbook recipes & a few bread machine recipes from videos, but always disappointed. I was beginning to give up hope...until I made this tonight & it's amazing. I'm happy to say I needn't look any further for a basic everyday go to homemade bread method.
btw, watching your video was like being in the kitchen with a good friend showing me how to bake bread. You have a way of not complicating the process, which convinced me it would be so easy. I walked immediately into my kitchen to try it. I appreciate that. Thank you.
I love your kind comment, thank you for your support on my channel @treeniemomma !
Made your recipe and it was looking beautiful while baking and next time I looked at it the top had falling just a bit. After it finished baking and I cut it there was a area where it was just a big hole. Taste is awesome, but can you tell me what I did wrong?
Sorry to hear that an air bubble???
What kind of yeast, I have breadmachine yeast and regular yeast. Which one do you prefer?
ANY kind at all! this recipe will take any! If you think your yeast is old, or there is a problem you can up the quantity. Like to 1 TBL. I do that sometimes
Im a newby and I just got my new bread machine! For my first loaf, I used the basic recipe that came with the machine...major disappointment. Even tho it tasted fine it was very dense and didn’t seem to rise much. The dough ball dry so I had to add a tbsp of water and it was still hard and non-elastic.
Ok! So! With THAT done I proceeded to set up YOUR recipe to auto start the next morning! What a delight! Even after sitting in the machine all night, the ingredients whipped up perfectly into a wonderful loaf of bread! The only thing I did differently was I removed one tbsp of flour and added back one tbsp of vital wheat gluten! Ohhhh, it was so soft and chewy! Thank you so much for this easy delicious recipe! You made this beginners first fore with a bread machine a success!!!🥰
I love your kind comment, thank you for your support on my channel Carol Moffett !
this is the recipe I truly use almost daily -- and certainly with my kids at home! I also always make this and take it to dinner parties, or used to!! It's amazing and EASY! So glad you had success!_
Rebecca Brand ❤️❤️❤️
I just made this recipe on my black and decker all in one horizontal B2300 and I was perfection!!! Setting was set at 1, 2 pound loaf, light browning. Omg I’m so happy I found a good recipe! I only tried one before and it was a flop so all’s not lost. Thank you so much!
Thank you for putting down that you did this for a 2 pound loaf. That's great!
thanks for the recipe...i tried it and its so good...soft inside but crunchy at the outside... if i will add a choco powder ?do i need to reduce the flour?
No need -- easy to add choco powder -- but I'm worried about the ratio with the sugar, if you want a cake, I'd change the recipe altogether.
The lady who does my massage ( Her son lives w my daughter) in the same building there is a 2nd hand store.. My Breadmaker was 6 bucks..Never been used..Great idea Rebecca making homemade bread! ..
I love your kind comment, thank you for your support on my channel John Gates ! That is awesome!
If you don't have olive oil can you substitute with veg oil ?
I use the same recipe but I use honey and an egg in it,and it will blow off the lid of the machine most of the time. I love it ,better then most of the recipe I have tried
Great tip! I'll need to do this method and recipe!! Thank you!
how much honey do you add please?
How much honey do you add?
New to my bread machine. When you say flour. What type? Self rising, all purpose, bread flour? Thanks.
any kind is fine!! I buy the cheapest!!
Can I use Avocado oil instead of Olive oil?
I'm a little late to the bread maker party but thanks for the tips!! i made my first loaf and it didn't rise as much as I wanted it to, but it was good! I hope to try again tomorrow
I just watched this video and loved it, but I was wondering what kind of flour did you use?
Truly ANY kind, and the cheapest, that's what I do! I buy 25 lbs bags at Costco or Smart and final because I make this recipe so often! As I write this, I got a loaf going in the breadmaker right now!
Rebecca thank you so much from showing that step by step I have a bread maker been a year I mess up some flour and stuff but thank you for showing that I know it easy but sometimes people have to see it step by step I'm going to make some bread tomorrow
After the second knead, you can remove the dough ball and pull out the kneading paddle, reshape the ball and return to the machine to rise and bake. Now you will only have a small holdd in your bread instead of a big one through the crumb.
You bring up a good point @Mr.56Goldtop , thanks for writing, I hope you keep commenting on my videos.
My bread machine on basic setting goes 3 hr 18 min... will this be ok
I am so happy you posted this today! I plan on making bread in my machine tomorrow but had no idea what recipe to use. I'm going to do yours! Thank you!
Let me know how it turns out for you, oK? I make this all the time!
I too, I just got a bread maker last week and I'm so glad I got this recipe 👍
awesome! It's the easiest and best!
I’ve tried so many times in my bread maker with no luck! But this one is perfect! Thank you so much❤ so glad I stumbled onto your channel!
Glad you liked it!!
I picked up a breadmaker for 5 bucks and its just like brand new! Thanks for sharing, I'm making this today!
Hi Rebecca,
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for sharing your incredible bread machine recipe on UA-cam. It truly is the best I’ve ever tried! Your instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the end result was absolutely delicious.
You are a diamond in the UA-cam community, and your passion for baking shines through in every video. Thank you for all the effort and love you put into sharing your knowledge and recipes with us. I look forward to trying more of your wonderful creations!😋🍞💎🎉👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I love your kind comment, thank you somuch for your support on my channel @simonecastillo674 !
Hi ms becca. I can't get my bread to rise, what could it be? I changed the flour, the yeast, water, etc. Any tips?
Cheers!
What happened? Oh gosh, follow the recipe exactly and it will work. The ONLY thing that could be wrong is the yeast is dead, or gets too hot, it needs to go in the middle of the flour. I keep my yeast in the fridge, or freezer.
Is the flour just regular plain/all purpose flour, or bread flour?
the cheapest you can find!!!
Never occurred to me to start making my own bread until now! Thanks Rebecca!💞
You are so welcome!
Thak you for sharing Rebecca 🥰🥰🥰🥰😗😗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
@@RebeccaBrand i that 2 pound:?
1 and 1/2 pounds
I just started my bread maker! Can't wait to see how this goes in three hours
how did it turn out?
First attempt failed lol I swapped my sugar and salt lol. Second attempt was great! It was so easy and was so delicious
Can you please tell me is that a large loaf or extra large or medium as I need to put in a size for it to cook the correct time
It is a large loaf, and truly it won't really matter enough to worry -- I've done all ways, and it's awesome... more crust if overdone.
You could have too little or too much flour because you do not use proper measuring cups. They do make 1/3 cup measuring cups, just a thought.
I always take short cuts, I guess from cooking so long, but you are so right!
I made this yesterday it’s so good and simple soft inside nice crust. It’s a repeat recipe for me too!!! 😊
I love your kind comment, thank you for your support on my channel Jayson Morin !
Are you using bread flour or all purpose flour?
All purpose flour. any flour will make this bread.
I see several people ask which kind of flour you used…all purpose or bread? I can’t find the answer but could if missed it. So asking…did you use all purpose or bread flour??? Thanks!!!
ANY, and truly, the cheapest is best.... I've made this recipe for decades! I buy the cheapest in 25 lbs bags, I make this loaf about 4 times a week and ALWAYS FOR DINNER PARTIES! Potlucks! My friends always ask I bring this!
I ordered my bread maker last week, cannot wait to try it out. Thanks for your tips. Love your style girl.
I love your kind comment, thank you for your support on my channel Eddie Vantailn !
Congratulations 🎉Which bread maker did you purchase?
What setting am I using for how many pounds? Thanks!
I love your channel you are awesome. I don't know why it took so long 2find you. They should have you on top of the search engine for making bread. However I did try to make this bread it must of triple in size it opened the top. I only have one paddle. It's a Panasonic old old model or maybe because I used instant yeast. What do you think? Do I need a smaller recipe it's a small bread box.
I think maybe you had too much sugar and too much yeast? that's my first guess, this size of recipe really works on all models.
Is the recipe with breadMaker flour and breadMaker yeast or rapid yeast? Or is it just regular white flour and regular Active yeast?
Great question -- and the answer is: ANY YEAST -- I BELIEVE THE RAPID YEAST IS JUST A MARKETING TITLE. ANY YEAST, JUST USE INTHE SAME AMOUNT!!
Do you put it on light medium or dark color?
either is fine! I did this on the 3 hour cycle which is light. I like to put it in a 200 oven if it gets done early-- now that will really crust up the outside! Leave it as long as you like, the crust just gets better and better!
just glad that someone is out there to help us prepare for this virus. not many people are willing to share their talents to help us prepare. if you take her advice you will be the few who are ready for the inevitable.
thank you
Finally going to use my thrift store purchase bread machine that I bought 3 years ago LOL that was deep in the recesses of my cabinet I just started it can't wait to taste it thank you so much for the recipe!
That is awesome! Finally, now, just 2 days ago I saw 2 breadmakers at a thrift store! They had been sold out everywhere!
G’day from Australia can you help with what type of flour you are using
The cheapest you can get! basic flour --- good question.
Hi Rebecca
New to your channel but have already made the Countryside bread. It turned out great, now my favorite recipe as I make all my bread.
Could you please do cinnamon raisin bread. If you have a video of it already please give the link. Thank you.
Welcome! I don't have that one yet!! Great idea!!!
can i use instant yeast in it instead of active yeast
I like the recipe post it idea on the machine, i won't have to search again.😊
Totally! It's so easy, so little ingredients. And- you can have others do it for you!! Assign the kids! :)
@@RebeccaBrand Right! Okay kiddies, get ready to make your dear dad a loave of RB's awesome white bread.👍
ha ha! Good training for them!
@@RebeccaBrand Yes. I consider them making me some RB bread good parenting skill🤣. Thankyou for your great video, it's very well presented.
Thank you for being so happy 😊 We need happiness in the world today ❤
@BeYou4You would rather be annoyingly positive than negative and hateful, or even to have a negative attitude to make viewers feel Less Than -- To me, cooking is fun and encouraging others with my videos makes me happy!
Is this for a pound or 1.5 pound. I have a smaller bread maker
it will work in any.
try it, it will be fine.
This is the best bread recipe I have ever made. Ty
Great to hear! AND I AGREE!!! IT'S FAIL AND FOOL PROOF, LOL! It ALWAYS WORKS, it is cheap and great! Thank you!!!!!
Hello Again. Today I made my first bread with your recipe. It taste awesome. But I did reduce the amounts of the flour and the yeast and the water. I only used 1 cup of water , 3 cups flour and 1 teaspoon of yeast. (Bcuz I don’t like a lot of yeast.) I left the oil the same, and salt and sugar. And guess what? I’m eating a delicious slice of bread. After watching this video so many times finally I got to it and it is a Wonderful work of artisan bread (to me). God bless you and your family. Thank you.
I love your kind comment, thank you for your support on my channel Janitza W ! I just saw your comment and thank you for your great revision!!! Yeast is hard to get so I hope people can do this one too!
Hi there, I tried you're recipe and it turned out great except the top collapsed a bit. I'm going to try again and if it drops again should I slightly cut the amount of water or oil?////update--Dud a second loaf and it came out good except for the top dropping a little. This time it fell maybe an inch but more uniformly. Last time just the middle of the top became concave. I must say your recipe makes wonderful bread. I can see why u use multiple machines. Would be nice to make more at one time.
If the top falls, it usually is too much oil. 1 Tblspoon exactly really works! I've made a loaf a day since my kids came home for Xmas! it's a great recipe! Thank you for your detailed comment!!
@@RebeccaBrand that's what I did. I wonder if being at high elevation affects it. We are at 4,500 ft above sea level.
@@RebeccaBrand I really appreciate you getting back to me so soon. I also love your upbeat videos. I think we both sare a passion for cooking.
Please answer I’ve tried so many recipes and none work so I hope it really works 😀
Wow 3 years makes quite the difference...your machine and the one on AMZ don't look at all alike so I am not sure abo9ut this. We would like to try bread machine bread making but so many variables. Really appreciated your recipe and tps. I'm sure the prices have risen quite a bit but per loaf this way is still very doable. Thanks much for sharing.
@kathytincler2446 I'm so glad you liked this! Thanks for your comment!
Simple and great recipe, awesome. My incentive is to know what's in my food.
Love that!
Love your PERSONALITY and you are a great teacher thank you
Thank you for your comment Cindy Strother - so nice!
I just did this recipe it only rise up halfway. but I realized I used bread flour for the flour does it matter?
I'm not sure about that answer @rangerjedi7322 it shouldn't matter
Oh my gosh! This bread looks amazing! All it needs is Apple Butter!
Love that suggestion!!
At tip: keep your yeast in the freezer. It last longer.
GREAT IDEA!!!!! THANK YOU!!!
This sounds like the same recipe that I use. My family loves it so much. I can’t have it since I have celiacs.
I should make a gluten free variety, thank you fo ryour comment
Rebecca Brand that would be awesome. It’s hard to find a good recipe that doesn’t taste like soap.
i may have missed it, but is this a 2 pound loaf? seems like the size is there...thanks RB!
No, it's the normal recipe for regular loafs... it's light and airy from the yeast. The flour 3 and 1/3 cups is exactly a pound.... Press the button for the regular loaf size
What type of flour do you use?, And my booklet tells me to add powdered milk, do you think that is necessary?
I use the cheapest, basic flour! You don't need powdered milk, this recipe is the best!
Made this yesterday and making another loaf today! :) Thanks for sharing.
Love to hear it!
What bread maker you recomend?
The one I use I like and it's priced pretty well -- I put the link on the video. iin the description
Just Made bread using your recipe. Turned out perfect!
Great to hear!
Just made it. Taste so good!!! Thank you so much❤
Glad you liked it!!
Mine came out doughy kinda thick. Any advice? Second time trying a recipe btw.
What happened? oh no, try again, and maybe your yeast was old? I keep mine in the fridge --- it's important the yeast is happy!
Great recipe. I did it, the bread delicious. Thank you.
Wonderful! I love your kind comment, thank you for your support on my channel Adriana Campbell !
I just made this bread last night it came out wonderful thank you for the recipe!
Wonderful!
What flour did you use self raising or plain
plain.... cheapest and GREAT! the yeast gives the rise
This woman looks like she starts every day with a half bottle of wine. But this is definitely a video about making bread.
Looks really good. Gonna make some now!
Thank you for your comment CJ Cheifer - so nice!
@@RebeccaBrand About 5 min left and it smells so wonderful! I'm gonna get my butter ready. Thanks for your wonderful video. Have you ever done banana bread in there? I'm going to subscribe, and hope that you'll post more soon!

You're welcome 😊
Haven't used my bread machine in a while... but will try your recipe....
You are very perky.... You remind me of my DIL from Boston Mass
Keep on baking xx
Did you use all purpose flour or bread flour?
all purpose, the cheapest you can get. It's a commodity -- so go cheap!
Thanks :). Where I live all purpose flour and bread flour are the same price.
What size loaf is this for, 1lb, 1.5 lb, or 2lb
I was looking at the control panel when she was selecting the cycle and the little arrow was pointed to 2 lb loaf when she hit the start button.
Just bought my Breadman Ultimate in great condition for $12.99 last week at the thrift store! Going to try your recipe.😊
Wonderful!
question. Is the flour, bread flour?
I used the recipe from the manual an didn’t work I used yours an it’s the best one yet thank you
