    Excellent video! I haven’t bought any bread from the store since February. I haven’t made English muffins or pasta yet but that’s next. I use the dough cycle all the time because it saves me so much time. Thank you so much for your videos, I actually divided my dough yesterday without weighing it. Yes I’m OCD but it was perfect. I believe harder times are coming so bless you for taking your time to show people how easy it is to take care of your families needs. Bless you

    I made this bread yesterday so we could have it with turkey noodle soup. My 17-year-old, who normally prefers crackers with his soups, tried this bread and put the crackers away. Today, we had leftovers, and he immediately asked for 2 big slices of bread. And when he realized the bread was almost gone, he asked me to make more. And I did. He told me that he liked all the breads I have made in the past but this is his favorite. This recipe is really easy and delicious. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

      Olga, I LOVE THIS! I love that your son liked this bread so much. I agree with him, this recipe makes a delicious loaf of bread. There is nothing more satisfying to me than making food for my children and having them like it and request more! I'm so glad you tried it and that it turned out well for you. Thank you so much for coming back to let me know y'all liked it!! I appreciate that!

    I watched your video and absolutely loved how you showed three ways to make bread. I can't wait to try this! I found my bread pan yesterday, I can't wait to try it! This is a wonderful way to make bread and it seems like it's healthier than store bought bread. I'm going to order some of the items you mentioned in the video to try them out. When you use the butter, do you use unsalted or salted for the recipe? Thank you for sharing!

      I'm so glad you found this video helpful! It really is fun and rewarding to make your own bread, I really hope you enjoy it. It's so satisfying to not have to buy it from the grocery store, too! I use salted butter. Thanks for asking, I never quite remember to mention that even though I should. I hope your bread turns out great! Let me know if you have any questions!

      Hi Bonnie! That is awesome your sister found you a good cheap bread machine, that's great! I'm so glad you made this recipe and you were happy with how it turned out. I normally use Lehi Mill all purpose and bread flours, my Costco sells them in large 25 lb bags, so it's the cheapest option for me and it's very good flour. But I also use plain old great value brand and other store brands, too! Thanks for making this bread and letting me know it worked well for you! I appreciate it!

    I am wanting to make the dough then freeze it. Would this dough work for that?

    • @RobynOnTheFarm
      @RobynOnTheFarm  11 днів тому +1

      Yes! You can certainly freeze this dough after the first rise/punch down. I like to go ahead and shape it into a loaf, rolls, buns, etc, then flash freeze them on the baking sheets, and then put them in ziplocks in the freezer. When I remove them from the freezer I just let them thaw and rise, and then bake!

    Robyn, can I freeze this dough for future baking?

    • @RobynOnTheFarm
      @RobynOnTheFarm  24 дні тому +2

      Yes! You can freeze it after the dough cycle is complete. You can punch it down and freeze it to shape later, or shape it into a loaf or rolls then. When ready to bake, let thaw, come to room temperature, then rise, and bake as normal. I hope that help! Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks so much for watching and for this great question!

    If I use fresh milled flour do I need to change the flour measurement?

    • @RobynOnTheFarm
      @RobynOnTheFarm  Місяць тому

      I usually substitute 1:1 with my fresh milled flour, but it’s generally thought that you have to use about 25% more fmf than than all-purpose, so it may be a bit more, but I like to start with less so it doesn’t get too heavy or dense. I hope that helps! I always autoyze when I use fmf, too. This is how I do that using the bread machine dough cycle: ua-cam.com/video/2_HZd6EmV6U/v-deo.html

      Okay I finely chop a 1/4 cup of onion and one can of salmon 14 1/2 ounce drained and I remove the large bones and black skin. I crush 1/2 to one sleeve of ritz crackers, one egg for a binder and mix. You want this to form a patty that doesn’t fall apart in you need to you add a couple spoons of cornmeal mix. I add half of squeezed lemon to take the fishy taste out. I form into patties and fry in a cast iron pan with 1/2 inch of oil for 3 or four minutes per side and flip and do the same on the other. I make buttery rice and a vegetable on the side, this is a cheap meal with high protein for shelf stable ingredients. I use cast iron at medium high heat or stainless steel once the oil is hot I drop them in. I really don’t have a recipe and you can really tailor these in many ways, I make them like crab cake at times but it feeds a lot and you can double it if needed. My grandmother feed us so many times with this meal and it kept us full for hours

    Hi, I am a first time bread maker and this recipe was my first loaf I made. I followed Robyn’s recipe to a T but instead of a nice flaky loaf of bread my loaf was extremely dense and doughy. I don’t what what I did wrong or if my bread machine is to outdated but I am looking for someone to offer some advice to me please. I was so excited for this but now I am frustrated and confused. Thank You Very Much for your help!

    • @RobynOnTheFarm
      @RobynOnTheFarm  13 днів тому

      Oh no, I'm so sorry it didn't turn out the way you hoped! Did you check to be sure your ball of dough looked just like mine in the video a few minutes into kneading? How was the dough when you took it out to shape it? Being either too wet or too dry/crumbly would have been apparent then. Did you remember to let it rise after shaping?? That could be the culprit. If you didn't let it rise to the top of the pan, that would cause it to be dense and doughy. Or it possibly didn't bake enough. If it was a loaf of bread, it needs to be baked at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Hopefully you didn't follow the directions for the rolls that only need to bake for 20. Lets see if we can get this figured out!

    • @Nibbie38
      @Nibbie38 13 днів тому +1

      @RobynOnTheFarm thank you so much for writing to me Robyn! My dough did seem a bit dry after I took it out of my bread maker, what can I do differently for that? The bread looked perfect after I baked it until I took it out of the pan and it started collapsing I was so disappointed! Thank You again Robyn!

    • @RobynOnTheFarm
      @RobynOnTheFarm  13 днів тому

      I'd either add a bit less flour or a bit more liquids, but it won't take much of a change! Be sure to check your ball of dough a few minutes after you start your bread machine. If it is sticking to the sides and bottom and to the paddle, it's a bit too wet and can collapse. Add about 1/8 c of flour, let it mix, and see if it needs more.If it's dry and crumbly and not coming together into a smooth ball, add about 1 Tbs of water and let it knead for a few minutes and see if it looks better. It may need more. Be sure your yeast is not expired, too, and that your water is warm enough but not too hot! Think warm bath water. Also, don't let it sit in the bread machine for too long after the dough cycle ends, it can over proof. Be sure to put it in the oven when it has risen just to the top or a bit above the loaf pan, or it could over proof and colllapse, too. Sometimes the first loaves are just learning loaves, and that is ok! Stick with it and I know you're going to have success.

      I baked these buns at 350 degrees for 20 minutes, but typically I will bake them at 375 degrees for 20 minutes to get them a bit more golden. Watch them until they are the color you want. Thanks for watching! I appreciate your question.

    Robyn, I tried to make this, and I followed along with you but it was crumbly when I checked on it. So I added just touch of milk and it never changed except for it got heavy,,,,what am I doing wrong?

    • @RobynOnTheFarm
      @RobynOnTheFarm  15 днів тому +1

      Hi Linda! I’m sorry you’re having troubles with your bread. Sounds like it is too dry like you were thinking. I’d add a bit more liquid and let it knead until combined (it may seem too wet and like it isn’t combining for a couple minutes), until it isn’t crumbly and comes together into a nice smooth ball of dough. If you added a bit more milk and it still seemed heavy, I’d add more until the texture and consistency gets lighter (I think it needs more liquids). I sure hope that helps.

    Robyn, in the recipe written in the description, you have 2 Tbsp sugar then 3 Tbsp sugar. I’m assuming we don’t need the 3 Tbsp sugar? Also, would you add extra sugar if this was a sweet application like cinnamon rolls? Thank you!

    • @RobynOnTheFarm
      @RobynOnTheFarm  Місяць тому

      Thank you! I don't know how I missed that. It is corrected now to 2 Tbs sugar. But yes, if you'd like to make cinnamon rolls, another 1 Tbs of sugar would make them a bit more sweet, so I'd do that. Thank you for catching my mistake in the written recipe!

    • @RobynOnTheFarm
      @RobynOnTheFarm  Місяць тому

      I’m sorry you had troubles with this recipe. Did you use warm water and check your ball of dough a few minutes into the dough cycle? It’s been a fail proof recipe for me when I do those things!

    • @TheBbowles888
      @TheBbowles888 Місяць тому +1

      @ the first one I did was perfect this was days before my fails
      Then I got overly ambitious thinking I would use the bread flour wanting to do one for dough to make hoagies and the other a loaf of bread
      I checked in the first one and the dough seemed like it needed some water so i added alittle prob not enough so I let that one go and started another one since I have 5 bread machines 🤣the next one same not soft like yours looked so I watched your video again and again 🤣wasn’t sure what I was doing wrong? So I’m needing bread and I want to try it and have them turn out like yours I will use the all purpose flour since it’s what worked before and hubby liked it!
      Thanks for your help!
      Hope you had an awesome Christmas🎄

    • @RobynOnTheFarm
      @RobynOnTheFarm  Місяць тому

      I’m glad you had success before the fail! It is common with bread flour to need to add a bit more water because it has a higher protein content, so I’m betting that is why the difference between your batches, or also changes in weather, temperature, humidity, etc between batches can also end in different results. I am glad that you had success with it and I hope you can get it to turn out as well again! Thank you so much for watching and for your comments. We did have a merry Christmas, and I hope your family did, too!!
