Today will be my first day making bread in my machine. Amazon delivered the machine yesterday 😊 I needed to SEE someone do this with confidence and not arrogance. I am a visual learner and the book is not the ultimate teacher for me 😅 This is my Goldilock video...all thanks to you for sharing and caring
8 years later and you’re still helping people cook bread! Thank you so much!! I can’t wait to eat this with my chili later. Only 2 hour hours and 49 minutes to go 💕
Thank you. This is possibly the most helpful bread machine video I've seen. Most people watching this video is because they are new at baking bread and want to learn how it's done. So I can really appreciate all the thorough explaining. I disagree when people complain that you talk too much. For me when people go off topic, like chat about getting their hair done or taking the dog for a walk, etc. is when I'll say, okay now that's talking too much.
I bought a bread machine yesterday saw your video and i said ok here i go and amazing to my surprise it came out beautiful! Thankyou so much for helping a newbie bread maker!
I tried your recipe for the first time a little earlier and i gotta say wow. I have struggled with making bread in my bread maker with not much success but i kept trying. This came out so well it didnt go flat or dense like mine normally does. I followed recommendation to cook on medium colours but i found that was to dark for me and the bottom end was a little to crispy but i have to say the loaf didnt last long. So tomorrows loaf will be a lighter colour. Thanks for a wonderfully easy and delicious recipe
I added a tbs of %100 honey. I made it in the bread machine and took it out after kneading. I then put the though in a bread pan and baked it in the oven. Best bread I ever tasted with your recipe and added honey. Thanks!
I first watched this video about a year ago....and I have made this recipe 10+ times! This is the first bread I had ever made....and it is still my favorite!! Thank you so much!!
Found this today when my bf brought over his old bread machine with no instructions. I’ve never used one before. I had no sugar so I used honey. It turned out amazing! Thank you so much. I subscribed.
Great job on your presentation I really love how you opened the bread machine and detailed everything I lost my book and don't remember the exact recipe thank you very much
Cutting the slices that way might be good for households with small children but this is not the size most people are used to eating, for say a sandwich. The reason I watched this video is I have a bread machine like yours, and haven’t used it in 5+ years, you explained it very well, the only thing I would not do is to cut it your way. I’ll wait till the loaf cools completely and then lay it on its side and use the serrated knife to cut slices, or use my bread slicing form I bought, it’s made of wood andirons cuts my sandwich style slices that I have enjoyed having for some 60+ years. Thank you for making this nice video. It has helped refresh me with my brand of bread maker and just how to put the ingredients in order. Thanks again for both of the recipes you give and the alternate amounts of yeast and the description of which yeast you use what amount for which yeast. This was very informative and friendly in nature😄😋
I recently purchased a bread machine at a local thrift store and it didn't have the manual with it BUT is in great working order......your video is a big help to me. Thank you so much for posting it!
I did this recipe and it was great! Using this bread to make a sandwich turned out heavenly. Thank you for making this video. It was nicely detailed and easy to follow. Totally recommend it!
As a bread machine owner I thank you for your video because I re-learned (Reinforced) a few things I had to learn the hard way on my own! This is a great bread machine new comer video.
Thank you for this recipe I tried it and it was perfect Soft and delicious Absolutely delicious The recipe was just right No extra water or extra flour was needed Thank you so much again
I just got my Oster bread maker today and i was still unclear about many things as i never used one before. Thank you soo much for your detailed instructions. I would have surely messed things up if i didn't view this video. I thought it was set and forget it, but when i checked the dough it was far too wet and sticky so i added the flour i would not have added without your instructions. Now it is absolutely perfect. Best know how to video on here by far.
Hah! Same bread machine I got at a thrift store for six bucks. I have about seven machines now that I have found in my travels. You really only need one but when you see one sitting there with all the manuals and extras for 5 bucks its hard to resist! Thanks great video right on target.
Thanks, this makes a wonderful tasting loaf of white bread. I was out of sugar and substituted 2tbs of honey and it came out great. Making another loaf to share right now.
You really saved my life i almost sold my bread maker since it was always hard. Later you told me that there are diff recipes for diff size of bread. And thag we should check on the second stage. You were right. THANK YOUUUUU....... now my bread always comes up great.
I’ve tried bread machine several times but this recipe was definitely the best. I appreciate your tips to watch the dough for dryness or wetness. I actually added some water. Next I’m going to take it out and knead a bit and take out the paddle.
Thank you so much! I got a breadman pro at a tag sale with no instructions, so followed your tips. Its rising now. Cant wait to try it in 2 1/2 hours fro. Now!
ok so I'm 33 and just recently got one of these given to me. omg! why am I just now figuring out how amazing these are?!!? I love it and I now know what the fuss is about. thank you for your video and helping me use my bread maker for the first time ever tonight!
Thanks for a great video. I just picked up a bread machine at the thrift store and wanted to watch a few videos before using it the first time. You explained everything so well and your hands are very expressive too. 😃
Thank You! This is so helpful. I just got a bread machine, it's the type with 2 things at the bottom to mix it, but my bread was just awful. I've made bread for years and this dough looked more like a batter. I was following the directions in the book. I had no idea that there is yeast for bread machines here, I haven't been able to find it. I'm in Norway and so far I have just found reg dry yeast, one for sweet breads, I have no idea the difference, and then the cake type. The bread tasted OK but it was pretty sorry looking. I ended up feeding the birds outside with it. So thank you again for this video.
Thank you for this. The bread came out great every time. Very straightforward. I have used this recipe many times now. I added sesame seed to miz a couple of times for added flavour.
Thank you so much for this video! My mother in law gifted me a Welbilt, and I had no idea what to do with it! Your video was very specific and easy to follow! Left me with zero questions and delicious homemade bread!
What a difference 8 years makes. In the UK we have become accustomed to US measurements, and our yeasts are sold in packets and Plastic jars. Until now, I have been using only pre-mixes in my machine. Looking forward to trying your recipe. Thank you.
Tried your recipe last night using an 8 or 9 hour timer so that it would be done this morning and it turned out really good! Note: Since I didn't have regular sugar, I used brown sugar instead.
I'm glad I found your video. I bought a bread machine at a garage sale and it didn't have any directions with it so I've never used it...Now I'm going to pull it out and give this recipe a try. 🍞🍞🍞 Thank you for sharing. 😊🌹
Your video really helped me alot. I have been making bread for many years but not with a bread machine..,but i have a bread machine that have never use before and i decided that i wanted to use, but i didn't have the manual, so i had no clue of how much ingredient to put in, so i started to search online and i found your video. So let me tell you that my bread came out perfect, Thank you for this video!!!.
Ok. Need to share. SUCCESS! My god, this bread is awesome! So easy. No more store bought bread. I have another one in the making right now. ( The first loaf was devoured at the dinner table - 2 pounds of it.) I am going to try your wheat breads next. Thanks for your guidance.
This recipe turned out great for me. I just made my first loaf, and it was GREAT!. The only thing I would modify, and usually this is to taste, is the salt. I prefer the bread to be a bit saltier, so I will up that a half a tsp or so for the next time around.
This was the first recipe I tried in my bread machine because I have everything without going to the grocery store. It is fantastic! I'm now making my second loaf of the same recipe.
Thank you so much for this recipe it turned out so good. I made another recipe that came with my bread machine earlier and then made your recipe. The other recipe called for dried milk. I had a hard time finding that. The other bread didn’t even come close to yours in both texture and flavor. I’m so glad that I came across this video.
Great explanation, really needed a basic recipe for my new machine. Mine dough is rising atm so hopefully it goes well. Greeting from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia!
Thank you , I had purchased a cuisinart bread machine at Goodwill last year .It came with the manual & recipe , but the first & last brick I made was very discouraging. With your recipe it turned out great 👍.
My first cuisinart loaf of bread came out like brick even I follow the recipe 's instructions very closely. Sad.... I will definitely try your recipe. Thank you.!
Hi, I always make bread by hand the traditional way. However I have just been gifted a bread maker. Thanks for sharing this demo with us. Your tutorial was very thorough and easy to follow. Thanks so much. Su x (UK)
Thank you for your video! During the winter storm (2021) we were all confined to the house and ran out of bread! Well, I used your video to make the bread with ingredients I had in the cabinet and actually had some instant yeast (was old.. but had no choice). For my first time making bread, it came out perfect, smelled great and tasted perfect. I've decided to do it more often and stop paying almost three dollars for a loaf of bread at the local grocery store and it helps get rid of my seldom used flour that I normally throw away because I have kept it too long.
Yeah buy a machine that you still gotta put flour, buttermilk, eggs, salt, baking soda, and yeast in. But, hey, at least you don't have to knead it. That's a few minutes of your life SAVED!!!
If you have an old Welbilt or DAK machine with a glass dome lid (you might find one in a thrift store), you must use the red rubber gasket then put your pan in the machine (twisting to lock in place), and put in the paddle before adding ingredients starting with yeast, flour and ending with water on top. This is the opposite of machines like hers where the pan is a sealed unit. I like the large glass dome because you can watch the process without opening the lid. It's hard to see through the small flat windows because they steam up and it's really dark inside. This is a really good instructional video for using a bread machine--you offer great tips!
i'm about to go buy one I have seen lots of videos on bread makers and no one seems to be screaming or going nuts doing it so I guess its my turn to try one thanks
I just got a secura bread machine yesterday. I've tried twice to make a loaf as per the soft bread recipe in the user's manual. First off; the loaf didn't have a rounded crown. Both times it had kind of a flat, almost sunken appearance. I used bread flour. Next time I'll try with a different type of yeast. I will also go by recipe in this post rather than what's in the users manual.
Thank you so much for explaining how to determine whether the dough was too dry or wet so well... I'm in the middle of my first loaf with the Welbilt (2 paddle) bread machine. I read about checking it in the instructions but I wasn't sure on exactly what is what... scurrying to find a video while it was still mixing I luckily happened on your video which was the first to really explain it. Most just mention it and give you a glimpse of their loaf. You really explained and showed the difference and what to look for and how to correct it. (my mix needed flour by what you said and I just caught it during the final of the mixing cycle) Hopefully it'll turn out right... I'll know in 2 hours 46 minutes. Again - thank you!
1st thing I would check is to make sure that the kneading blade and baking pan is inserted correctly. If not, then your bread will not be mixed properly. 2nd thing I would check is your dough consistency. If it's too dry, add a lil liquid. If it's too wet, add a lil flour.
I picked up a bread machine from a garage sale and only wish the previous owners had not added ingredients while the pan was in the maker! What a mess. Even the vents are gross. I have enjoyed your thorough video. Since I am new to this, I can use all of the tips I can get. :)

I cant believe ive never heard of a bread maker before. Genious, i cant wait to get one.
Just what I wanted to see before I use my bread machine. Thank You.
Thank you. After a number of failed attempts your recipe has been the GREATEST.
The bread that came out of my machine was the tastiest simple white bread I've ever made.
You're really sweet! You explained everything very well, thank you. Greetings from Sweden!
Can you use sourdough starter in the recipe ?? If so when would you add it??
Thank you very much. All your detailed explanations helps a lot. Great. Appreciated with thanks.
Glad it helped!
Great explanation, really needed a basic recipe for my new machine. Mine dough is rising atm so hopefully it goes well. Greeting from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia!

Glad it helped. Hope your bread came out good!
btw, that's a good basic recipe even if you do the whole process by hand. great video! !!
Thank you , I had purchased a cuisinart bread machine at Goodwill last year .It came with the manual & recipe , but the first & last brick I made was very discouraging. With your recipe it turned out great 👍.

I got one and I will get cooking my bread tommorow. I need the yeast and away I go. Thanks for sharing it.
thank you for a fast and easy bread machine recipe! its wonderful!!
That's awesome, glad it worked out for you! Nothing like fresh bread...
Thanks a lot !!! My first bread out of a bread machine came out perfect !!!
Great, glad it helped!
This video covered it all, i always thought you HAD to use bread flour. Every kitchen should have a bread machine to save "dough".
lolol thats funny
Thanks for the vid. Using my first bread machine today and this was extremely helpful!!

I made this bread with 1-1/2 tsp instant yeast, and it tasted great!
This worked out well for me. MY VERY first loaf I've ever made came out PERFECT. Thank you for sharing.
Glad to hear it!
This looks real easy thank you for the video
Yum. I think it’s time to drag out my bread machine for Lockdown Bread lol
i put my ingreants went to the corner bar came home and wala worked perfect
Great video. cant wait to watch more of your content :)
Make sure your yeast isn't too old because that would make it not rise properly
thank you for all your info . It's the most thero video on UA-cam.
Thanks to you, Made my first bread! Perfect recipe, great instructions...i loved the extra info because i'm super curious. Thanks again.
You're welcome, so glad you found it helpful!
I've just tried your recipe for the first time I hope my bred turns out ok
Yey!
I can tell you use your bread machine alot! I'm really glad I found ur video!
Thank you so much for posting this video! This is my first successful bread loaf!!!
ditto.. 3 bucks and basically new.... simple google search for the manual and recipes for the model and done...i love it
1st thing I would check is to make sure that the kneading blade and baking pan is inserted correctly.
great video!
I agree, this is the most informative and very clear video for making bread in the bread machine ! Thanks :-)
thank you, from Philippines
