  • For years I have used a drywall saw to cut in recessed light openings... but not any more! We splurged the $15.00 to purchase a carbide hole saw made just for 6" recessed lights. This new tool was a HUGE time saver and I am kicking myself for not buying one sooner. So, treat yourself and purchase this hole saw even for your first time installing recessed lights.

    I was hoping to see this saw actually being used and advantages or disadvantages. I didn't expect to see a speeded up video of someone using it.

    I was expecting a close up of how it works and how to use it.

    The problem I find with this saw is that it wants to kick out of the hole scarring the edges which needs repair before instaliing the light

      True, you can't be in a rush using it for sure because it likes jumping around.

    ugh, the whole reason I clicked on this video was to see how the bit was assembled.

      Hello!! How can we help with knowing more about this item? When you say assembled what are you referring to? I would be happy to answer any questions!

      @@RaptorRenovation Did some research and eventually found out the part is called an arbor. My arbor was old so I couldn't figure out how to open so that the saw would be secured.

    Can you show us how to use this? I have this when I keep it in my impact or drill bit, it falls of as it become loose. Not sure how to use this./

      Sounds like an issue with keeping the drill bit chucked on your drill. What kind of drill are you using? Some drills (like the dewalt I use in the picture) have a easy twist chuck so you can twist it to the right and the three medal pins will start to close around the hex shaped part of the drill bit. You have to keep turning until it clicks a few times which means it is tightened on.

    I got this 2 install some recessed lights but it's garbage. The kick is super bad, gets caught, and just won't get cut. I had to switch to a corded makita hammer drill and the drill started smoking when I was done.

    • @RaptorRenovation
      @RaptorRenovation  Рік тому

      Wow... so with these types of bits you have to turn the torque down on your drill so it doesn't kick. Then you have to go very slowly and let the bit do the work. If you are trying to push the bit through the drywall than you will make it jump and kick.

    Do you have to take snap ring off to install

    • @RaptorRenovation
      @RaptorRenovation  3 роки тому

      No you will not need to remove a snap ring. The sleeve should pull up as the chuck screws onto the hole saw then the sleeve slides back down into the small holes on either side of where the main chuck screwed in.

      @@RaptorRenovation nah not a doof, just a dude that made a video with absolute zero value, the only value this video has is to feed his ego.
      Complete waste of time, 99 % of the people who turn to UA-cam is due to wanting to be shown on how to do something. This video is useless and shows nothing. It's my fault for clicking and watching the video but I was baited.
      Anyhow, hope you feel better know that you shown a video that adds no value other than feeding your ego.. btw, be original and at least play other music in the background, that music is played in the majority of "how to" videos, of course, those videos actually show you "how to"
