      So, I used an 8 ton bottle jack I got from Harbor Freight and when turned on its side like that, it wouldn't work. What worked great was the screw style car jack from my WRX! it has large flat surfaces (still used scrap wood to avoid damaging the new floor joists) and it was smooth and fast and works regardless of its orientation!

    Excellent video! Which recess lights did you use? I have been reading that a 30 degree beam angle is preferred and a 100 ft candle at the working surface height but I can’t seem to find this in the specs for Halo or Juno. You should do a pendent light on an island video next 😄

      We just use standard 6" recessed LED disk lights. Light can be super complicated when trying to get the exact beam shape and light output... however sometimes just going simpler is the best solution.

    I recently bought one. My only complaint is Dewalt decided to remove the tripod mounts for some reason on the new ones. I also bought a few 9ah Waitley batteries (Dewalt knock offs from Amazon) to power it. They are a fraction of the cost of Dewalt batteries and work just fine.

    It’s everything you've said, it’s great. Couple suggestions. 1. use the app to turn the light down, with the app you can go a couple levels up and down from whats on the physical light. 2. The light schedule on off time has come in handy a couple times.

    Floors do not have to be level. They can be very sloped as a matter of fact they can be off by a matter of feet from one end to another. What they must be is flat and there is a big difference

      @@RaptorRenovation I think you missed my point son. I will give you an example since you seem to be struggling. A handicap ramp is not level at all. ADA likes to see them wth a 1:12 slope or nearly a 5 degree angle. They are however flat and would accept any kind of flooring, including weed planks just fine. They key once again is that the floor is consistently FLAT. Level, in and by itself does not matter.

    LUKE 17:2 1 Corinthians 12:1 1 John 2 King James Version 2 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. 7 Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning. 8 Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth. 9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. 10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. 11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. 12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake. 13 I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father. 14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one. 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. 20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. 21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. 22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. 24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. 25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. 26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. 27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. 28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. 29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

    I am looking into buying a new to me home and the inspector came across some wood (wedge style) shims that were sitting on the piers but nothing actually between the peirs and the beam, and the floors are slightly uneven in one closet and having some door latch issues, along with the girder (I think is what he called it) looks like 3 2x6s that are supposed to be flush together have separated on the end, would re shimming and possibly jacking up a little higher help this issue, the house is 17 years old

    • @RaptorRenovation
      @RaptorRenovation 5 місяців тому

      If the house is only 17 years old and has this kind of structural issues than you should run away from that deal. Just think about how easy it would have been for someone in the building process to see that issue and fix it (the answer is very easy). Now there are a hundred things just as important but much harder to spot in the building process. If they were doing that poor of a job in the foundation that there are way more issues else where that you just can't see just.

    Great! Thanks. Our house (built 1974) has cement tile siding as the shims. I have almost an inch of slope from exterior wall to center of floor on second story (discovered when I redid 2nd story bathroom). I won't get to level without cracks in that brand new bathroom, but can I at least mitigate further compression with this method? Maybe risk an 1/8" rise?

    • @RaptorRenovation
      @RaptorRenovation 6 місяців тому

      You can mitigate further compression with this method. You could possibly get a little extra lift to help level the home as well. You would have to do the jacking very very slowly over the course of a day to make sure no major drywall cracking occurs. However, when lifting a home up there is always some risk of cracking interior finishings.
