This last time I used it, it was extra dusty. I had some spare foam tape that i added to the lip and it greatly reduced the dust. Start slow so it gets is starting track in the cut or else it will stall and unravel the blades. The clips that hold the spring chamber broke when I pushed on it too much, but it still works.
This is an awesome, simple, and safe tool for cutting perfect holes without creating a huge mess. It also limits how deep you can cut preventing damage to pipe and wiring that are near the surface being cut.
How far does the drill bit extend beyond the blades? I have to cut a hole in drywall that has a PVC pipe right behind it for a bathroom light fixture. Thanks.
Hello from Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪. I had one of these back in the early 2000s it was used for audio Applications ceilings speakers were the order of the day. My one went up to 12 inch’s for bass ceiling speakers. I can’t find something that will do the same job.
I was putting mine together to see how it works I put the drill bit in and I did not put the cutters in and now I can’t pull it apart. It is all ready to use but the blades are not in. It is totally stuck, how do I pull it apart?
I’m looking to cut a hole 8.75” in fiberglass for a subwoofer on a boat any do you know of a tool like this that can get me to the size hole I’m in need of??
Can this hole saw be adjusted to different sizes such as 4 1/4” or 6 3/8” or just 2”, 3”, 4”...7” only. Oh wait, just saw the packaging which stated 1/4” increments. Thanks for sharing.
I'm looking to cut a 6" hole in my cargo van to fit a porthole window. Would you recommend an adjustable hole saw? or fixed hole saw? would they even be able to cut through sheet metal? Cheers.
Yes I think that would probably work. It may pull some of the cork apart. The best thing I could think of doing is sharpening the small knives on it for a cleaner cut.
TheDurbinCompound I wish it were that simple. The blades are literally ground down almost an inch shorter than they were new! They didn’t just dull. Anyway, going to see if it can be returned tomorrow - if not, I’ll be contacting Milwaukee. No tool should require as much maintenance as this would.
2:40 shit goes flying and he keeps going only like nothing happened... LOL I subscribed for this reason and the fact that the review was good as well And then you said that things made in China are better than anywhere else... dude wtf?
We gotta get off the made in China sucks BS. If this was made here, it would cost $250. We use China to do stuff that we don’t want. And they do it well.
@@91326 No, we really don't need to get off the China sucks BS. They are a communist country that enslave their people and try to rape the American markets with outrageous tariffs. Very informative and thanks for clarifying what it can be used on - appreciate the info and keep up the great work - thanks.

Is 7 inch hole max cus I need 12 Inc for speakers

I’m looking to cut a hole 8.75” in fiberglass for a subwoofer on a boat any do you know of a tool like this that can get me to the size hole I’m in need of??
I would use a jigsaw at that point
Can you use this on a pre existing hole to make a hole bigger?
No, it will not work in that application. You can however mount a piece of wood in your current hole to start the drill bit into.
Can this hole saw be adjusted to different sizes such as 4 1/4” or 6 3/8” or just 2”, 3”, 4”...7” only.

Was just about to answer you! Glad you got it figured out
I'm looking to cut a 6" hole in my cargo van to fit a porthole window. Would you recommend an adjustable hole saw? or fixed hole saw? would they even be able to cut through sheet metal? Cheers.
No. These do not cut through anything but plaster and gypsum based products.
@@TheDurbinCompound ah I'm probably better off with a jigsaw then. Cheers :P
Can it be used to expand an existing hole? For example converting a hanging light to a can light.
Do you know if this could be used to cut circles from a thin layer or cork?
Yes I think that would probably work. It may pull some of the cork apart. The best thing I could think of doing is sharpening the small knives on it for a cleaner cut.
interesting....i never knew milwaukee made this...but next time can you show a close up of the tool ?
Yeah it’s a pretty sweet offering from them. I was impressed!
think it will drill about 30 holes before dulling out?
In drywall and ceiling tiles. Yes.
Will this work for thin aluminum sheet metal?
No it will not. These cutters dull out in wood
Think it would work with fiberglass?
I wouldn’t think so.
A 6 inch hole saw in Australia would set you back well over $150 bucks.... fml
No..
Had bad luck with this tool, blades dulled after 3 holes in drywall ceiling
how well does it cut compressed wood?

Do you have a link to where you bought it?
2 in. to 7 in. Adjustable Hole Saw Cutter

Out the box it's not sharp.
I tried using it on 5/8 drywall and it struggled.
does this work on blaster?
Do not recommend for plaster
2:42 no f*cks given. Lmao
Can u cut 1/4 plywood
Nope, only drywall or ceiling tile. No plaster or plywood
Can it cut through mdf
No
Will it work with plywood
Nope. Not a chance. Has to be ceiling tile or gypsum board
I’m heading to Home Depot 😅
Cut 4 holes in my ceiling and the blades are already flat, and catches on the edges causing tear out. .
Wow, I had great luck with the tool! You should be able to sharpen them fairly simply

carguy1312 agreed! Oh goodness. Are you just cutting drywall?
@@TheDurbinCompound lol, sounds like he is trying to cut plaster (lathe & plaster)
It's too bad this won't work with plaster walls 😫
4 years later.. theyre short of $50 now. Still id take an adjustable over buying a dozen different hole dozers
Still worth it than spending 140 for a kit
What about enlarging doorknob holes
Not possible, this is for drywall and ceiling tiles only
I get really mad when people lie to my face but in your case I`ll let it slide cause you owned up to it.
😂🤣😂 i don’t even remember what I said in this one!

32$ now at my Home Depot!
