Awesome tutorial! My nb2 is still so new to me that I haven't even attempted to pull the hvac unit out to replace the bulbs haha. My confidence in sorting it out now knows no bounds thanks to you 👍👍
Really not sure what color I want to roll with, I admit the first time I saw the factory red gauge cluster light up I was astounded how much better the overall appearance was over the NA cluster!
Thanks mate!
I had one of my bulbs burn out last month and I got as far as taking the tombstone off but when I realized the cables had to come off I was stumped.
Cheers from the US!
Good job!
Excellent video, thanks a lot! Im going for orange leds tho, because I like the OEM look haha. What kind of LEDS do I need? T10?
very helpful.... learned a lot on your videos. i was able to change the lights on my cluster gauges and HVAC, used cool white LED’s for both. the gauges turned out really nice but the HVAC stayed the same. did i miss a step??
Thanks mate I was wondering if it was possible to change those bulbs.
Great set of videos! Really good tutorials! I searched a lot for a good video or thread to explain how to change the bulbs on the HVAC controls. Fantastic job! Thank you!
You don't, by any chance, have an NB original head-unit to fiddle with, do you? :) I searched all the web for some info on how to change the bulbs on that, but there is absolutely zero info on tampering with any kind of NB or NBFL original head-units... I have an NB Bose unit and one of the lights has gone dark and I'm kind of afraid to start working on it without knowing what the deal is...
Anyway, keep up the good work!
Hey man, awesome tutorial. I'm currently struggling with some broken background illumination in my fog, headlight-height and seat heater switches... Any tips on that?
Good explanation.
What lEDs size do you need?
Thanks
Thanks homie
bring these back!
can you please tell me what are the original bulbs are ?
i need to replace myn but cant find what i need .
TNX
Is it the same for USA models?
From the sale site added they are T5.
what is the model of that bulb?
sick removal vid dude.
where do I buy the tool to remove the HVAC? I can't find it anywhereeeee
It’s just a trim removal kit on eBay.
Could someone tell me is it the same kind of bulbs for the hvac lights on a 90 na?
Yes
Do you have a link for those pin tools?? Love the videos mate 👌👌
+Ben Kyriazis I got mine off eBay for about $2.
I've changed my bulbs but the dials and icons have an orange skin to them, apart from finding a hvac skin from another mx-5 what are my options?
You could try cleaning off the orange tint with acetone. I’ve read some people have had success but it seems risky to me.
Yeah i'm not too keen on on it, i'll live with a slight purple tinge below the orange
Are they dimable? Can the same be done to the Bose double din?
Yes they can be dimmed. Not sure about the Bose system. Sorry.
Is there any possibility to get those LEDs in red instead of blue?
You can get red ones but they don’t show up very well.
Are these T5 oder T10 globs?
T5
Hey mate how many bulbs hvac need and are thw bulbs same as gauge cluster bulbs?
Did you watch the video?
@@boostedmedia Just to confirm, after watching the video, I think it is 2 T-5 bulbs? Don't know much about cars, just bought my first 2003 NB Miata 3 days ago. I found your link searching for "Mazda Miata Lighted Gauges NB" so I think mine is the same configuration?
I brought the leds from your site and less are on however you can barley see then in the dark
Do you have the brightness turned up? The ones I used to make this video came from the same batch I’ve sent to customers.
What year is this miata
1999 NB8A
Okay guys. This is a real stupid way of doing this. Trust me. I learned the hard way by following this video. Here's the easy and quick way.... You will have to unclip the panel and just pull it out enough to clear face plate. Pull off the temp knob, the selector knob, and the fresh air slider knob. They all just pull off. The black face plate has 4 clips. 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom. Remove the face plate and the bulbs are right there. Just pull them out and insert your new LEDs . It's simple as that!
MVP. I was having trouble removing the unit and then i saw ur comment. U saved the day bruh
I wish you made a vid for it.. your way seems way easier. Did you even pull the whole thing out by doing the 4 pins? Or just remove the face plate?
To remove face you do have to pull the climate control out from the dash about half inch (maybe little more) to get to the clips to remove the front. The top two are easy, it's the bottom ones that are hard. Once the face is off, the bulbs are right there to pull out and replace@@wyattdebiase5352
very nice work, but the music is so disturbing to hear you .
Be warned: you panel WILL NOT look this good when you’re done. The NB Miata has gauge face inserts on the hvac with red filters and it won’t let blue light through. If you want to have a blue hvac panel you have to replace the face inserts, and that’s 100 extra bucks.
wish i read this before i spent hours of trying to get it to work
My HVAC won't come out. It's snug tight with wiring back there
