These old ground effect prototypes look so sleek and sound so good, the diversity of the field is also far above today's top tier prototypes. Hopefully the DPi category pulls in more manufacturers and continues to grow.

We have Acura, Nissan, Mazda, Cadillac, and all four different base lmp2 cars. I think IMSA will be good in 2018. I mean, 2017 was good too.

They need to bring back GTP racing, these cars could hit 250mph, today they could hit 300! They are the fastest race cars with the best steering and safest ever made!

@@homeperson11244 It won't be nearly as good as old Group C/GTP used to be though. The regulations are way, way too tight, and the class is already failing to draw anyone's interest. :(

IMSA GTP was class racing. Maybe not quite so good in 1993 due to the lack of a challenger to the Toyota's but still very enjoyable. Such a variety of engines. Nowadays most top flight series the cars are about 2l V6 turbo's. Miss the scream of the V12's. Keep these vids coming, can't get enough 👍

King Greeny GTP and group C are my favorite eras of prototype sportscar racing! GTP had a wide variety of engines but two of my favorites are the Nissan GTP v6 turbo and Toyota in-line 4 2.1 liter turbo. Group c was full of great engines of all sizes and configurations.V6 V8 V12, naturally aspirated and turbo engines. So many great engines and so much great racing. But I just love the group c Nissans with their 3.5l turbo V8’s capable of a cool 1000bhp in qualifying trim. All of the group c cars capable of 240mph on the right track. Their construction and materials on the cutting edge. Gawd what a time to be alive!!! I could keep ranting and going on and on but I’ll stop now. Love IMSA GT and GTP racing and group c!

@@austingriff5905 huge fan of group C as well. My dad was a mechanic for the mazda 757 in the early 2000s until 2008. That car was so incredible and it was awesome watching the historic race at le mans in 2008. The first race car he worked on was the 944 gtr in IMSA which is why I'm also a fanboy of that car. He is probably the reason why my first car was an rx7 vert and my second car is a 944.

O`connell is lucky as hell he didn`t get run over while falling over the guard rail. The Nissan backing up was a dumb thing to do on a "blind hill". cutting off any clear path for the next cars to get by. The Nissan ruined at least 3 car`s day and could have got one person killed.

This was the worst coverage of a race I have ever seen! The race was 2 hours long yet we only got 43 minutes of it, which means there were 77 minutes of commercials when this aired! With 67 cars and 7 classes this had the formula for some great racing, but you hardly get to see any of it. The replays generally didn't show what completely happened, as a lot took place out of shot, especially on the accident that was red flagged. Commentating was dispassonate, and despite having 67 cars and 7 classes you only got to see the 1st and 2nd place cars cross the line. And in the final interview they said that the lead Toyota got hit? When? Why wasn't that shown? You really get the sense that TNN didn't give a fuck about this event, only advertising. Its an absolute insult to motorsports coverage, the drivers and the teams! I have never seen coverage of an any sports event that was this bad. All the other 90s races on IMSA's youtube channel are pro, but not this one falls very very short of the mark.

this seems very cut up though to cut out excess space, for example the crash happened the red was out and not even 5 minutes later it was already completely cleared, millen was already airlifted, that was probably a 25-30 min ordeal that was just empty space
