I was an infant when this race happened. I never really knew much about the IMSA series until my early twenties. Its really interesting to look right into the past and see these machines compete in their hayday.
I'm a simple guy, I see IMSA posting old school footage of prototype racing, I hit like. Would definitely love if you guys posted as much old racing footage as yall have. I enjoy this just as much as the new uploads.
Please upload more of these. Maybe some from Portland Oregon. Some of the best childhood memories I have were going to the Camel GT at PIR in the late 80s early 90s.
Here: vimeo.com/search?q=GrandTouringPrototype.com+portland 1986, 1989 and GTO 1987 races. These videos were part of a site Marshall Pruett from Racer set up a few years ago, so more or less official/authorized uploads. Not in as good quality as these here on UA-cam.
This is excellent. The quality is so good, I can see every little twitch and shake when they power out of a corner. Really puts another layer of context on a period of motorsport I never got e see live. More of this please?
I Never actually knew Calvin Fish used to drive racing cars. I just thought he was only an enthusiastic reporter and broadcaster. Now that I found that out it's pretty cool tbh.
Thank you so much for the upload. Keep them coming. I would love to see more GTP and Lights cars at the track on IMSA weekends and / or at vintage SVRA or HSR events.
Wow, that's from before my time ! But I'm familiar with several of these classics racing in Camel GT from the FIA European GT series I started watching in the mid-90s as a little kid. It's amazing to see Calvin Fish or Wayne Taylor as young drivers long before I got to know them as today's sports commentators and race team owners. Super cool uploads, keep these coming !
Great stuff. Thanks for the upload. IMSA racing the in the 80s and early 90s was awesome. Got to go to several races at Del Mar and Laguna Seca and really loved the Nissans and Jags.
There's a nice selection of full races uploaded by Marshal Pruett on GrandTouringPrototype.com . Just look for the video tab. He has a LOT of mid 80's GTP and some 90's races as well.
Great upload IMSA. Good old GTP racing.

deggis4 Thank you. I’m hoping IMSA will for quality sake.
Best racing series ever! Loved going to Watkins Glenn and limerock watching the GTP Cars.

Great quality too! Fantastic upload, thanks.
We need more of these vids, keep them coming please. Need some early 80’s GTP with the T600’s Vs 935 army.
We also need some of the 90's PSCR footage, there's hardly any online
@@jeracerx Yeah, love love to see more of the WSC class like Ferrari 333SP. Kinda an underrated era of racing
This is just amazing ! Thank you so much !

I was at this race.
Woah .... quality upload ... thank you :)
I really miss hearing Bob Varsha's race commentary these days. What he does on Formula E is very minimal, to say the least.
1990 IMSA GTP race in 60 fps for free. Poggers.
I like this. Thanks!
Omg that zx pace car!!!
Awesome Upload
ジェフブラバムはいいスタートダッシュしていますね😆
Thank you!!!
thank you
The engine braking throttle control on the rolling front strait is very impressive.
The pit cameras have such a good quality with vibrant color compare to the others on the circuit
Great upload, I just realised that turn 11 doesn't exist 😆 3:50
Man oh man oh man!! Good times! ♥️
That Nissan NPT90 race car had a twin-turbo V6 - the type of engine the current Nissan Z has under its hood.
some Al Holbert & David Loring please
Eventhough the 962 was dominant in late 80's my favorites were March 83G and Lola T600
these are some extremely beautiful machines right here...are these the Group C cars? great share btw tyvm.
A mí me pillo siendo un niño estas carreras, ahora teniendo el Forza motorsport 7 las puedo revivir como si estuviera en esa época. 😅😅😅
Hope we can get some World Sports Car-era races from 1994-1998!
I like this
The japan racing machines were strong in late 80s - early 90s
Thanks for the upload, but I am among many who dont like the blurry weidescreen borders, just stock 4:3 is much more versatile and less distracting.

@IMSA. could you do the Columbus Ohio race from 1988

Check out the article: www.imsa.com/news/052019/throwback-gtp-thursday-1990-imsa-grand-prix-ohio
The event program cover is pretty awesome!
6:42 race start
Pure sound only please
how come Nissan ran two different models gtp?
One was the old car, one was the new car. Pole position was new car, square anime looking thing was old car.
F in the chat for the Jaguars. GG Nissan
1 question. Is it really 60fps or just converted to 60fps? Cause even in 480p, the video has more frames than 30fps.
Neeeeeeeeeeeeesan.
No 300zx GTP dang, or toyota eagle dang :(
Two
