Yep. I do it at times. Also in the old gun safe, and the tool boxes. But on the guitars... I feel like I have to be careful, because I also don't want to dry out the fret-board... and get that dreaded fret sprout. It's a balancing act, really.
$80 new? I cant find one under $180 - anyway does the wiring have anything to do with ohms, or could any speaker go in there (sorry, I'm not very technical)? Also I have a Tonkerlite speaker with 8 holes - would it line up with 6 holes in this cab without any modification? Great video - Thanks for the help!
I got this cabinet for about $60. Changed the speaker to Eminence Legend 1258. The cabinet is damn too boomy. I’m not liking it at all. How does one reduce the boominess?
Have you tried it in different rooms, different environments? Is it transferring sound to flooring? Try isolation from the floor with a stand, or placing it on foam. Does your amp’s eq not reduce it by turning down the bass? What do you describe as “boomy”?
all you had to do was rotate the speaker until the holes lined up. also it was upside down, also those screws on the inside hold the grill cloth on, removing those and you wouldnt have screw heads sticking out.
So the screw heads were sticking out through the grill cloth in the front where they could be seen? He went straight into the tone test and didn’t show the finished product, from the front at least. I’m curious because I was thinking about ordering a couple. ??
All you needed to do for the holes, was to mach up the original speaker as a template and carefully drill four holes in the new speaker..
Didn't think of that. Thanks!
Great info
Silica gel packs can be thrown into your guitar case to absorb unwanted moisture.

I bought this cab a couple years ago,
removed the badging and put a greenback in it - sounds great
Next it’s time to invest in a tuner! You’re almost there!
Bolts look really bad, why not use screws, just turn speaker 1" and re-screw ?
Great video Sir Kev! Looking forward for more videos. :-) Stay safe this pandemic.
As you can see I'm rubbish with comments. Thanks mate
Thanks fella!
you literally have no solid state amps tp go to 16 ohm? lol. im getting this same cab & ill see how long the stock speaker holds

Was your guitar out of tune or were you playing some very dissonant chord choices?
Wow I can't remember. I'll have a listen back. It was a while ago now
Yikes it was out of tune wasn't it? 😂

@@guitarzan2979 rotate the speaker until hole line up. It doesn't matter at all where the tabs for the wires are.
@@warrenevans4281 Thanks! That’s reassuring
@@guitarzan2979 momo price has one for $50 more with a V30 in it
Are you sure that was the case?
