  • This is the first of four guides where I speak on army composition. I go over how I would build what I consider a balanced army that should be able to take on just about any kind of opposing army. I lay out my general principles and explain how each of the four factions I demonstrate use the principles and adapt based on their advantages. I demonstrate Parthia, Pontus, Sparta and Iceni. Please remember these guides are focused for new players. I take my time to explain each concept rather then assuming they get it instinctual because they may not have the experience we do. I look forward to your guide when you decide to make one.

      Well thank you! I am planning on doing guides for Age of Wonders 3 when it releases as well as an ESports guide series. I hope they impress you just as much!

    Average: I'd not even waste time responding to these types of posts. Your sub's got your back and will help keep your channel classy while you keep providing solid content for other like minded gamers (who arent tools).

    This is very useful I would usually have no cav 3 skirmishers spears in the front and swords in the back, and I would win, but I want to try some of these because I suck and those armies have the least amount of micro

    I do appreciate the support. I was partially serious though cause I am always interested in hearing other points of view. I can't be right 100% of the time and I love hearing contrary opinions. Maybe it will spur him to do a guide? Chances are that would never happen but who knows?

    Well Rome has plenty of spear units so try looking down their tech tree and finding out how to unlock them.

    I had really bad experience with the cataphracts, tried the historical battle and they died pretty much after the charge...Was unable to take them back once they charged.

    when are you going to make a guide about generals?

    • @Hylorchannel
      @Hylorchannel  10 років тому

      I could probably make a guide on generals but I don't know if it's justified. There is some ambiguity around what stats do what but honestly generals die so often it matters very little in my opinion. If you watch my Let's PLay on Seleucid Empire I lose generals for my main army about every turn for 4-5 turns in a row.

    Was just poking fun at how bad the AI is against ranged units when you siege a city.

    Hmm I can give better advice in less time: Build ranged units

    I like how you go all defensive on your man crush though. He makes good video's, learn to take a shitty joke.
