STELLAR AND POIGNANT- MICKY IS SO PROFESSIONAL AND WONDERFUL. I LOVE YOU MIKE, PETER, DAVY, MICKY!!!! FOREVER SINCE I WAS THREE IN 1966!!! THIS MUST BE VERY HARD FOR HIM- YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE UNTIL ITS LOST.... BLESS THEM ALL. KIM
I was just seranading my Cardinal friend thru an open window with my mandolin and this video, an' I was surprised to discover that Last Train to Clarksville and Take a Giant Step have a rockabilly chord progression and Papa Gene's Blues has a jazz chord progression.
Thank you for sharing this, as my recording failed. I believe that my wife and I were sitting next to you and I was going to ask if you were going to post it..
I remember Mickey as Circus Boy a TV show in the 50’s. He was a blond haired youngster. The guy who later played James Garner’s father on Rockford Files, Noah Berry was Joey the Clown. Noah’s father was the famous Wallace Berry. Mickey has been around but seems to be a well grounded good guy. Keep up the Monkey Business Mickey!
Great video. Many thanks. Great performance, and there was me thinking I would go and watch the eagles, and witness don Henley lip syncing 🙈. Seeing Micky in December, he won’t come to the uk so we go to Boston 😂
He performed in my local town last night, but unfortunately, I could not attend. I did see him along with Peter Tork and Davy Jones (just shortly before Davy's unfortunate death). First, it is a travesty that they aren't in the "Rock & Roll Hall of Fame." Yes, they did start as a manufactured ensemble with others providing the instrument playing (getting them nicknamed the "Prefab Four"). But they DID come into their own and sold a spectacularly large number of records. And the list of those who wrote songs for them is virtually a "who's who" of songwriters including Carole King, Neil Sedaka, Paul Williams, and Neil Diamond ("I'm a Believer"). The Monkees were good enough for them it seems. Also, members of the Monkees, particularly Dolenz, have lamented that their contract barred them from getting political. This was at a time when weighing in on the Vietnam War was common amongst entertainers. Dolenz may think that's a bad thing. I think it was a good thing because there was nothing to distract from the music. Today, we remember the music (some of us, anyway) and not a lot of political baggage whatever it might have been. They entertained, and did it well. If you are of "that certain age", go see a show if you can't. If not of that age, go see the show to hear music that even topped the Beatles on charts in the UK. And they had FOUR number one albums on the Billboard chart in 1967.
Right the heck on, Mick❣️We all
