George has been gone 20 years, this song is 50 years old, and yet here we are watching a new music video for it featuring a ton of people famous actors and musicians. It just goes to show you the power of George’s music and the depth to which it is a part of us.
I can't wait for the 50th anniversary of Cardi B's WAP when people will do absolutely nothing because that song will be long since forgotten! R.I.P. George

Yes! I'm a dyed-in-the-wool atheist, but this song transcends all aspects of religiosity. George was a true gift to humanity and I still miss him so much.
If you are religious however, this song really hits you hard. One of the best ever written

How tragic that so many don't recognize that nothing else matters but our relationship with God and all that is good, and God is everything that is good.
Searching for God is a waste of time. Everything is God/Universe/Eternal Energy No need to search for anything just be.

My dad said he wanted this song played at his funeral. It’s about to be one year this December 20 and he got what he asked for. The timing is crazy and kind of comforting in a way
I don’t know why this tripped me out, but my dad died this year, his bday was Dec 20, and he always liked the Beatles and would probably like this song too. Makes me want to learn this song and play it in memory of him and george
He is already whit God at his right side.
I feel you, my dad passed on January 25th this year, he loved the Beatles, he loved George and this song. Today I just sat in front of the TV, looked at my dad's picture and told him "listen to this Pa"...
Just read you post my mom passed a year ago on the 20th too thanks for the song..i.miss her
That must have been special.
All these comments flooding in from different ethnicities and different places of the world really puts a smile on my face. George really brought us all together with the power of music.
I'm barely noticing that too. The power of music is amazing.
True, so true
It is a beautiful thing. ❤
George?
George already released this song 50 years ago.
This is not from George. This is Dhani and Olivia saying what GEORGE did isn't enough, anymore. And it's an insult to him. None of these celebrity dorks have any affiliation to George. It's just screen time and good PR. For THEM.
Really pathetic.
And a song he stole from the Chiffons.

@@dougfargher2661 yes it’s rubbish because it’s all references to Satan. I just realized this watching this video. what this song is really about. The Beatles were in the illuminati. There are at least 3 different symbols all symbolic of lucifer. George’s all seeing eye peeking through the flowers shaped like a pyramid. Pause the video and read what the popcorn menu says. Olivia Harrison is class personified. The wife she was to George, the mother to Dhani, and the woman she has been in the face of George’s passing. Words cannot do her justice!
What do you mean? Makes me wonder about the kind of person you are if you think being a normal widow left millions and millions is a really great thing! What would you of done? Pissed on his grave? ...I hate when people talk rubbish, she was his wife, this is her job, she was nothing to George, no one meant nothing to George the way it is for all spiritual people. People are no more important then a pair of trainers, this is Georges words and the being spiritual is. It annoys me when people think they are spiritual by being nice when it's about not even caring. She has done nothing of great merit? I have heard none of her songs? Only has one son! Which is awful!
@@dondamon4669Dude! For one thing, George loved his wife. He wrote a whole song about her. And Second, just because someone is spiritual doesn’t mean that they don’t care about anyone. It means they care about everyone not only with their hearts, but through their spirit and what they believe in. Finally, just because she didn’t save world hunger or whatever, and because she didn’t make much popular stuff, and just because she only had one son, doesn’t make her a bad person. Me personally, I think that the one who needs to be worried about is you, sir.

@@sirkomic8474 well george did love her, but he wouldnt have liked the fact that after he died olivia cut of his sister Louise pension funds that he set up for her in the 1980s, it was to give about 2000 dollars a month, and she claims she stuggles to make ends meet, is living off of a 600 dollar social security check and is living in poverty, and before georges will was finalized she was made to sign a nda. if she didnt sign she wouldnt have gotten her cut she was suppose to get 10 million . Louise signed the papers and sent them back with a note to say “signed under protest”. When the will was settled, she says $1 million was split between George’s siblings and all his nieces and nephews and that the final amount paid to her was less than her annual income was from before George died. Louise said all of this herself and also calls Olivia 'the lady' in her book.

I don’t know why but the video for My Sweet Lord is just so amazingly cool. The collaboration with others like Jeff Lynd, Ringo, Weird Al etc is really cool. And at the end when the two detectives turn on the radio, they get what the people in the theater were watching. It may not have anything to do with the song, but it is well done by Dhani Harrison.

George was a giant in every way. A great man, a genius, a heart, a spirit, a guide for everyone of us. RIP friend.
George died just 10 months after I was born, merely passersby that didn’t know of each other’s existence, but 20 years later I can say I’m happy to have been alive for even a slim amount of time as, in my opinion, the greatest musical talent of the 20th century.
It's the same for me. I was born less than a year before his death just like you, and my parents both happened to be staying in the same areas he did as he was being treated (Hawaii & NY). He's had a huge influence on my family since before my time and it will be carried on after me as well
in my case, it was John Lennon who was killed about 3 months after I was born.
This comment gave me chills. I was in college when George died and it blows my mind (and is so touching) that there are still people born even after (or right before that) who still love his music.
But then again, I was born two years after John Lennon died, and always felt a little sad we weren't alive at the same time.
There is something very special about this song that I can't describe, it touches my soul, it fills me with hope, it moves me and somehow I know that everything is going to be alright despite all the difficulties that have arisen in the last few years.
I feel you. It is a mantra, I really struggle and when I play this and sing it in my head all feels right.
And God will bless you 🙏
Yes!!! 🤗💕🙏
Yes, very special. ""My Sweet Lord"/"He's So Fine". George Harrison's best-known post-Beatles song, "My Sweet Lord" has an uncanny similarity to the Chiffons hit of seven years earlier. Bright Tunes, the company that owned the rights to "He's So Fine", noticed this too. Thus began rock's most famous plagiarism suit. It's a long, long story, but ultimately Harrison lost the suit when he admitted that he was familiar with the Chiffons song even though he did not mean to steal its melody. In a final irony, however, Harrison wound up purchasing Bright Tunes, thus receiving royalties from both "My Sweet Lord" and the song that inadvertently inspired it."
I love how he sings the song, it's his voice❤

Is it still a great song if he plagiarized the melody
@@jazkookie4118 no doubt George took the melody of the other song and made it better. I would say it is still great what he did in terms of creating a better classic.

This song takes me back to August 20th 1973, the day my family moved into the house I grew up in. The neighbor kids on the street saw the back yard swing set and merry-go-round unloaded from the truck. We ran around to the back yard. I was sad from leaving my best friend at my old house in Garland Texas behind, but on that day, there were lots of kids to play with. As we ran to the back yard, our Japanese Neighbor was working on his van, the radio was on. From the radio Came ‘My Sweet Lord’. It was the start of something new and hopefully better. Everything was green and summery and the air smelled of new mowed grass. The moment was fixed in time and in my memory, I never want to lose it. My life was long then, I was young and there was time to kill. The song set the tone of the day, but the moment passed. Now some 48 years later, the memory still seems like yesterday. I think of that day when I hear ‘My Sweet lord’. I miss it.
In the video, when they turn on the car radio and the song started playing, it really took me back. That one little part brought it all back to me again. It made me smile. Thank you for reading this.

George was a devotee of Krishna as the background singers are chanting. His love for his God is all through this song. You feel George's love for God when listening! Hare Krishna!
Yeah he's a legend
@d.m.w - Yes, he's so fine. (do lang, do lang)

Wow I wasnt sure if I had heard this before and as soon as the guitar riff started I instantly recognized it. Amazing how music stays locked in our memory until we hear it again.
I was watching this while spending time with my mother. I could hear her singing along to it. It felt like the moment of generational bonding I was longing for. I know George is gone, but his music will live on.
Also, nice cameos for Armisen, Weird Al, and Ringo.
This song and its album saved my life when I was a teen. I was severely depressed and I would listen to All Things Must Pass over and over again. Those songs gave me a sense of peace and they still do now. Still my favorite album of all time.
❤
Kudos man. Such a great message, certanly someone that is depressed now Will read and you helped that person
It saved my life too.
May God bless you always!
@@BrunoBrunoMM Kudos to You as well for your wonderful reply 😍
Thank you Dhani and Olivia for keeping George's Legacy alive. May memories of him be a blessing to us all.
I’m really impressed with your comment, if you don’t mind friendship where are you from?
JESUS CRISTO MY SWEET LORD !!! ❤❤❤🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Bhaktivedanta Swami Jah Shua Ben Joseph
he wasn't singing about jesus you idiot. LOL
Who is Jesus Christo ?
❤
But his Lord not Jesus,is Hare Krishna (India's god)
Imagine him George and John and the music they are making with Angels 🙏 RIP boys sadly missed😪
I have no idea what this video is about or why it even exists in the first place, all I know is George Harrison was an amazing musician, and it seems like they all had a blast honoring him with this piece of art.
Yes. I don’t have a clue about any of it but I know I like it!
I think they're looking for the Lord. George would be proud of Dhani. Truly in the spirit of his father.
Yeah video is dogshit
I'm thinking they are doing a take like "Men In Black" or "X Files" where agents are investigating a mysterious force at work. The two agents finally catch on when the song comes on the car radio. Anyhow...it was great to see Jeff Lynn and Ringo Starr.
✌
Because Dhani is bored and has nothing else to do but make these videos with his Hollywood friends
This has to be one of the most beautiful songs of all time. From those opening acoustic chords and the beautiful slide guitar that has that unmistakable Harrison quality, to the amazing chorus, it’s just pure class.
One of the greatest
I believe it works on a sonic level as well - to help the spirit like a meditation. It's a prayer of course. A gift from George to the world, bless his spirit.

Hello Mr. Harrison! Just stopped by to say Hello to you, Sir! R.I.P. forever!
I found this song the day my grandma died from covid. All day long I just wanted to listen to this song. Everytime I hear this song now I think of her. I hope all the loves one you might've lost from covid are with our sweet Lord now 🙏❤️Thank you George Harrison for this beautiful song💖🕊️🕉️

I wasn’t alive when George died nonetheless the Beatles, but their and his music has made one of the biggest impacts on my life. I’m happy to be celebrating 50 years of George’s music/life, and I hope everyone can pass on George’s message of love :)

HARD TO BELIVE ITS BEEN 22 YEARS . OUR SWEET GEORGE
A longing for the answer !!! My Lord 😊
Happy 80th birthday George, 🎂🍾🍸 the most spiritualized and quiet beatle.
Who apparently could 'talk for England' - he wasn't always quiet!
It's hard to believe that George died 20 years ago, yet I still feel so connected to him although I'm just 18 years old. He blessed us all with his beautiful music and I can't wait to see the music video of My Sweet Lord, one of the best modern hymnes ever. He is truly my favourite Beatle. Thank You George ✌❤
Edit: Wow so many famous actocs, that was fantastic. This shows you that George's music is immortal.
i know exactly how you feel and i totally agree
True!
This is how you become Eternal.
George and the Beatles have that effect on people. The Beatles were before my time, and yet, I love their music. They are timeless. ❤
Tommy James, Helen Reddy, Rick Derringer, etc...the 70's is a place where music exploded and co-existed to our delight!
Only God can judge me ❤ Great song!
I don't know why, but this made me cry. Maybe I was overwhelmed at how beautiful of a job you all did, or maybe it was just something I'm going through, but great job Fred & Vanessa & the entire team that put this together.
brought tears to my eyes too
It made me cry too, Kerri! What an incredibly wonderful, wonderful song. Love George, and miss him. Good old Pisces. :-)
People will be crying even more, when they reach the end of their life, and they realize they rejected Jesus.
I also felt the same. My mum loves this song and introduced me to it when I was a teenager. She's now recovered but she had bad moments this year, and when the guitar just started to play I started to cry.
God bless George Harrison and all he left behind in his wake.
Jeff Lynne never seems to get any older!
Look harder mate!
@@zigzagwandra
He’s turning 74. The point is he has aged well while keeping the same overall style throughout the decades. Stay positive, friend.
He still has his singing voice too!
@@chronomatt6990 There's nothing wrong with looking 74. Growing old is beautiful. Stupid comments however, not so much.
Paul. Loving that you're noticing Jeff Lynne. Traveling vlogger and Jeff Lynne fan.... a perfect combo!! :)
This is first song l ever listening George Harrison it’s his B-Day today so Happy Birthday to Him!!!!!!🥳🎉🎂 02/25/24
My brothers and I (back in the day) we grew up listening to this amazing song by George!!!!!
Some songs only get better with age, and this is one of them.
I loved this when I was 13, and still do. Doesn't it just still sound amazing.
My heart feels peace when I hear this song. Hallelujah…Hare Krishna ❤
I get chills
It's a beautiful 😍 song 🎵.
