those were some fun matches. definitely agree, ur delver is way more engaging to watch you play against in that person's version, both for the novelty and because it didn't feel like they were effectively playing solitaire like most delver lists
Deck donator here. I feel like braids might work as two or one off copy in a pox deck (maybe large pox using bloodghasts?) later game draw engine to keep the pressure on or maybe as part of a control deck that uses it to get through useless cards. In a sinilar vein to braids i wonder if invoke dispair is viable or if that is just too expensive
@@ThrabenUniversity do you think its viable for any kind of sacrifice value deck in legacy? Or do they act too slow? Things of ilk like cat-oven. Not specifically with braids just in general
Out of curiosity, what happens if you activate helm with Wheel of Sun and Moon active? (If a card would go.into their graveyard, put it on the bottom of their library instead) I assume the game ends in a draw?
I found something similar but went abzan to abuse life from the loam flagstone and dakmor salvage. combine that with white removal and green utility you get some decent midrange/lategame grind wins
I think you could try with actual pox and using effects like raven man and sedgemor witch to just keep getting an engine if you don’t have the bitterblossom

At around 55:00 when you're afraid they'll blow up Urza's Saga before you can tap it for mana with the Gain ability to tap for mana on the stack, it could already tap for black mana because of Urborg
Round 3 Game 3: opponent was down to one life and was set to die on their turn to the Sheoldred trigger, but couldn’t Divining Wish + Thassa’s Oracle have won in their upkeep before their draw?
it seems like helm combo should be the focus of the deck but with the aggro plan as a backup against control match ups... and the reason why is because of the fact that in mtgo leagues as you have said before the metagame is generally skewed towards combo for faster games... so having a r1 combo then being able to pivot against the decks that the combo is bad against makes for a more resilient list overall... and the reason the switch to aggro is better is just simply because you have a higher chance of stealing r1 with a combo out of nowhere vs having to enact an aggro plan out of the gate... i can see the appeal of having a definitive plan like aggro from the start but i definitely feel that with that said that combo is going to be stronger in r1 then it is going to be once you are side boarded...

It's all math. Always has been. :) In decks with tutors, it can make sense to play 61. Even without card-draw or tutors, playing more than 60 cards can help modulate your effect ratios slightly beyond what fractions of 60 can provide... but that would require a truly immense amount of play before you would notice any actual payoff. We're talking tenths of a percent or less difference.
I am just a random internet nobody, but I DO consider Urza's Saga to be a problem... though I admit it's VERY far down on the list of problems in Legacy right now.

There are monoblack reanimator shells that use Lake and I've taken one of those builds and put Sheoldred in. Having Sheoldred plus Griselbrand or Vilis, Broker of Blood in play is bananas.

I think Braids is better in aggro than in control though, which is why the deckbuilding here was a little tricky.

I tried Contamination a little while back. It wasn't very impressive.
Once the new gix comes out you can get some nasty card draw going. Also love the content. Always trying to watch asap when you drop new videos!

You could try this deck again with Orcish Bowmaster, it gives 2 bodies to sac to braids and can also put pressure on your opponents life total
While I love this deck of yours I couldn't help but find myself rooting for that Reanimator Deck in Round 4, their game 1 start was awesome!

In game 1 round 2, why casting Opposition Agent on the opponent's upkeep rather than at sorcery speed?

Nope! It's very good. A format staple. I don't think it is anywhere near ban worthy or every anywhere near the best things you can be doing in Legacy.
