I agree with you that it is often painful to paint over a model that has so many different additions that were not originally part of the kit. The scratch built parts, the photo etched additions, the sculpted putty tarps, the enhanced weld beads, even after market tracks, all make for an impressive looking build. It's almost a shame to hide it all under finished paint. I try to take a few photos, to show potentially interested persons, but my audience is very small and in the end, it really doesn't matter... except to me! At least we will always have this video to show just how much went into this build, and it is a WHOPPER! What a great build and every detail is awesome!! I'm looking forward to the finish paint!
I recently went to The imperial war museum in Duxford for my birthday and my favourite part of the day was seeing the jagdpanther as it is my favourite tank from the Second World War. Seeing this video has inspired me to finally make a 1/35 Jagdpantger that I hope will look half as good as yours does.
the level of detail you've achieved on this is unreal. I feel like I'm watching a master clockmaker or something. I never get bored of watching you work!
I agree, after I assemble my models I let them sit on my shelve for a month or two just to admire all the work I did before I cover them with paint. Sometimes a year or two on some particular ones. Keep up the fantastic work. And keep the faith.
This video is a dream come true for me. I have had this kit lying around on a shelf for over a year waiting for inspiration to finish it, and i have finally found it. Thank you
beautiful texturing with lots of ideas on how to for guys like myself looking to get back into the hobby after 30yrs away from modeling. huge thanks Night Shift.
There is no model you build that doesn't be an amazing piece. The way how you explan and make it see so simple comes from your art, as well as from your theorical and even more practical experience.
I've always been partial to it's big brother the Jagdtiger and you've already done that to perfection. Thank you for posting the video, I hope you're closer to being fully healthy again.
That selfmade zimmerit looks amazing. After a long break from plastic modelling i found back in the hobby and your videos are very helpful to me. Keep it on!
This is a bit late but I just wanted to say that watching your videos is one of the most calming things for me and as an amateur modeler it’s given me a lot of inspiration and tips for the future. Thanks Martin
Hi Martin. I always watch your video with a mix of fascination and jealousy( lol!) Anyway, this is really helping stuff. I have a question for you: which compressor and airbrush did you buy for the paibti g of your models? I plan to get both and I am a bit lost regarding those which can be reasonably priced but also have to be efficient. Thank you for advicing me if you have time.
M U H F R E N S Edit: The reason they did the armour plates separate like that is so that they're all scale thickness. It's pretty cool. Edit 2: why red primer barrel?

You can get surface mount solder/flux combined paste in a syringe on ebay. Fit a dispensing needle to the syringe & you can lay in a very neat bead of solder. Solder it with a small gas solder pencil/torch & you get the neatest joints possible. The torch means you don't get the comntact solder spikes like with the solder bolt. Plumbing for modellers lol. Thanks for taking the time to make these vids. There are many good modellers on UA-cam but none better than yourself. Hope the leg is healing well.
An absolutely brilliant and beautiful job, my friend!! When I decide to put together my first tank, I will be certain to play your video(s) while doing so - again and again!!! These videos aren't just entertaining but extremely helpful and informative to those who enjoy the same work/hobby!!
Am I the only one who thinks NightShift should make a Maschinen Krieger kit? He would do an amazing job with something like a Krote or a Sturm Kafer, or even a PKA/SAFS suit.
oh my god, thank you so much for the small texture tutorial, you helped my disgusting revell, but cool looking tank look less shinny, and more war torn
Some of the best demonstration of 'actual' damage to a vehicle I've seen. The dints and bends are a perfect example of a 21yr old driver in a war-zone, haha. Can't wait for the next instalment.
thats a beautiful model it looked like it went together without too much hassle and now i know where to get a decent sized jadgpanther been after one for ages in a bigger scale
I feel good about the progress I am making on my tank builds. Until I watch Nightshift and I realize what great really is. Oh well, at least I am having a nice relaxing time.
Looks very cool and there's so much detail to look at. I am looking forward to the painting stage! I kinda feel bad for the manspreading crewman; he's all squashed up in there now!!
I think your cluttering is pretty accurate. Something to remember when building model tanks is WHAT tank you're building. TD's or tank destroyers were never built for long deployments away from some form of base/supply depot, they didn't have much room for ammo storage and were VERY fragile to enemy fire if someone got in behind or beside them, so they tended to be more ambush based. So the heavy additions like AT rockets, lots of tarps and plenty of MG ammo all makes sense as these weren't tigers or panthers that were out fighting tank to tank, they were often within cityscapes covering choke points with heavy infantry support so there'd be a lot of reason for them to be carrying lots of ammo and rockets, tarps to hide the tank/obscure its shape and even to build small shelters if they were outside city limits. Jerrycans were also a big part of the WWII German army equipment as they were known to steal fuel from enemy vehicles especially late war where Germany was running out of fuel. It actually got many tanks scuttled for this very problem. The one thing I kinda hate but understand is your mixed use of Jerry cans and the older triangle fuel cans which by WWII were almost entirely phased out of use by the army. It's likely some townsfolk still had these and it was taken by the soldiers for fuel siphoning but it is a little annoying to see it used on such a late war tank. Just a personal gripe no real shade
I still remember when you hated stowage and figures, feels like a century ago; anyway, I think this is the most entertaining modeling channel on UA-cam
Hi Martin, that was a absolutely fantastic build/deatailing video, I am looking forward to the painting video, take care and keep safe, best regards from Australia.

HI Uncle!! I'm a great fan of yours from Argentina!! Just want to add about the historical accuracy theme that de Jagdpanther G1 had the 665mm self cleaning idler wheel (bigger one) that meng didn't include in that kit because of a research error I suppose. Although this is just for the rivet counters !! Your the best!! Made an old guy come back to modelling!! Cheers!!

The storage cans in the back held wooden blocks to hammer into the adjusting block to allow proper tension of the tracks. The Germans only made storage intended for a specific purpose. They never made anything for general storage. All ammo was stored inside the tank. Specifically inside their compartments or in the ready rack.
