You realise the BBC is paid by taxpayers money. Giving this person a raise would have a direct impact on you by either raising taxes or the taxes being taken away form a good cause. Its easy to say "give them a raise" but before you say something like that you need to think of the economical disaster it would be

@@jamesd5767 Economical disaster? Think that's a bit extreme mate. A raise of lets say 5k spread between 32.5 million working people paying taxes would be an increase of 0.0001p per person. Seeing as you can't physically do that, let's say we increased tax for everyone by 1p. You would then have an additional £320,000 available without causing an 'economical disaster'.
You can't just give a raise to everyone who does a good job. That would seriously affect your profits.
And for that reason, Jenny is out.
Jenny's two favorite things to do in the Den:
1. Saying "I'm out."
2. Picking a fight with Touker.

I just took a look, and despite the "I'm out" she's frequently associated with, Jenny actually has a higher number of investments per episode than Nick and Duncan, and is on par with Touker. So it seems more that she just has a more specific/smaller list of things she wants, rather than her not wanting to invest.

I'm pretty sure it's only a fraction of what Peter and Deborah have though. The real reason Jenny is out so much is that she is trying to add businesses to her SHORT TERM PORTFOLIO to make her look good in the short term, when these series' came out.

If Dragons Den was an Xbox game, getting an investment from a dragon should unlock an achievement of 30G, but getting an investment from Jenny should be 100G or a secret achievement.

Love the caption. I learned that more than half of the deals made in the Den fall through after the show, while Jenny's few investments all went through and quite successfully. Who's out now.
She doesn't even invest that rarely compared to the other dragons. Apparently she has more investments per episode than Nick and Duncan and is tied with Touker. She just doesn't make many offers and goes out quickly because she's looking for specific things, I guess.

They really missed a trick with the parking app. When people shop and validate their parking. You collect their data and shopping habits, all agreed to in the terms when they download the app of course. Tis is a very short term business but could make a lot of money in a short time.

I think the Parking Perx point was missed by many of the Dragons. Its probably a bit of a slow burn business but I think encouraging people to spend on the High Street rather than online will become more important as time goes on and I think we have in fact discouraged visits to the high street with complicated expensive parking, so I can see it working. The ANPR system Peter mentioned is a horrible idea.
Parking, clean air zones and ever increasing bus priority lanes have killed city centres tbh.

100% agree - the convenience is the point, and all of those financial relationships create a brand and lots of income. He could have sold this better I think - it’s Intensely collaborative, everybody wins (car park gets paid, shop gets footfall, public transport connection means that even the environment wins). They’d be fools not to do business with him.
We have ANPR system in Australia on many of the mall parking. They work perfectly well and very hassle free. No tickets, no tokens. Just type in the plate number in the parking app/meter or pay in the exit. Very convenient. Having another hardware tag is a waste of a device.

Looking back on this from her banker perspective it makes sense. It might seem like dull investments to most people, but the idea is to keep the banks running by keeping the high street running.

I'm from Lelystad the Netherlands, and we had both a parking and public transport deduction system from before the digital age (early 1990''s I guess). Not every retailer adopted the system and the bus fair (~60% of) deduction was only on Saturdays it works/ worked quite decent, and we have only 2 very centralized shopping centers.
