I genuinely think Duncan meant that 79 percent sarcastically (it was almost the same terms they were criticized for giving) and was genuinely surprised when they accepted😂
@@BenjaminGoose publicity and awareness is the first gateway and part of the formula to even begin to sell, although i agree complete success is how much it actually sells
Duncan renamed the record company Bannatyne Music (talk about power move) and it was later bought by sony. So duncan may have made his money back but I doubt it was a major deal for sony, seems like the deal was only for a band called ReConnected.
Yeah that pitch was embarrassing. I’m a musician who’s spent my life plugging away at the industry - I’ve even had two of my bands get signed to record labels, been played on the radio, and played shows for thousands of people, and STILL only barely made a living. These guys just thought music was cool but didn’t have any talent themselves, and they have absolutely no clue what they are doing.
That young guy had already decided b4 he went in the Den. At 19, he knew the value of getting Theo on board, that was why Theo smiled, he knew the lad had already anticipated the question.
The standard in the music industry is 90% for the label and 10% for a newcomer artist, and that's before you get into recoupable, cross-collateralized advances.
LMFAO 3:12 The exchanged glances of the Dragons, when the young boys admitted, with sh*t-eating grins on their faces, how they’d absolutely hosed their own human capital investments for all (well, most) they’re worth and what’s MORE, that they LIKE IT. TOO funny. Sickening and demoralizing, but funny.
Notice how the first two entrepreneurs appear flustered, nervous and both wearing matching ties. This is because just before their pitch, Evan Davis had seen they'd come in without ties and gave them a huge telling off, shouting loudly in their faces about how slack they would look in front of the Dragons and forced the pair to put them on.
Duncan is about to drop a bombshell Hi, I dont know the industry, I know nothing about the product really and am probably wrong on it, Theo knows far more, im out What a catastrophic bombshell lol
Okay. How many years have architects, graphic artists, and other designers been doing their stuff and it took this long for someone to "fix" that "huge format portfolio" issue?!?!? That other Dragon did not want to split with Peter and did not want to do an equity buy-back option for a reason.....
I dont think thats how it works. Duncan would own 79 percent of the company that has an 80 percent deal with the artists. The boys would retain 21 percent of the revenue or 21 percent of profits
One second pick my nails off says "I have to love it, I have to love a product to want to be involved".. The next Debby says it does not matter if I like it, it is all down to if its the right market etc Make your mind up debby ffs

Boot buddy is a succesful company. You can find it everywhere once you start looking for it.
Successful means it makes money. How much profit does it make?

he lost his money

Theo took advantage of the young lads good heart. In my opinion.
100%. But that's business
He didn't get wealthy by being a good person, no one does.
Theo did take advantage. I would of stuck with Peter.

The ring company was dissolved in 2022. I wonder what went wrong.

Boot Buddy net worth today are 16000000m pounds !
lol?
So they want investments that they can be involved in and not passive.. but don't want businesses that require to much work 😂
I can't believe the amout of "entrapenures" who front up for an investment with rubbery or non existent figures. Unbelievable.
the music management was just bizzare, if duncan owns 79%, why would the other two bother, they wuill pay the 50K in wages, and gtfo of the company.

He would have accepted 25%
a quick look says deliver me is worth 1,1 million today, i bet there sorry now they didnt invest

Dragons Den feel so SOOOO different from Shark Tank. A lot slower and boring. Plus the narrator seems unnecessary.
true it requires more patience and intelligence and less stimulation
ah, you need heavy beat music to help you decide how to feel. Gotcha
Us Brits are used to the slower pace and we Love our Dragons. I absolutely Hate Shark Tank. The Yanks are so fast and flashy and fake.
Don‘t watch it. It‘s successful anyway.
Well, the Brits are slower and more boring in general, and they tend to like it that way. But I kind of prefer it this way for this show.
