Hell yeah …. Thanks from Maryland !!👊🏼
You've done an amazing job!
Nice job, looks great!
Nicely done presentation. 👍☕😎
Thanks! I tried to keep it interesting and educational
Wow . So good . It looks amazing .
Thank you!
Looks great!!
Nice job 👍🏽
Thank you that looks really nice I may do that with mine thanks again!
I have an extra wood stock for my russian sks type 45 and i already stripped off the camo paint from the last owner. Im going to sand it smooth and then stain and for the finish ill be using tungoil. I used tung oil on my last 303 british and it looked really nice, i did 6 coats. I like my sks original looking. I use mine for hunting .
I love the stainless look on the sks, Cuba's navy uses them with no paint or bluing. Chromed ones look even better, gold would just make me lose my mind lol, but unless you're a Saudi Prince or cartel member, I doubt anyone else is gold plating their sks, maybe black Rambo if he has one. Love your vids, been watching for years, account got hacked n had to start over email and everything attached to it.
Great video and great job
Thanks! Great user name !
Looks good. Would be great to see you refinish a wooden stock for this and even Tech Sights.
Thanks! But I won’t be using a factory stock. It’s too uncomfortable for me. Possibly Boyd’s laminate later on
I like it, looks great. Thats one pretty gun now.
Thank you! Not done yet!
Nice work bro!!
Thank you!
Very nice work as she is looking good....Good stuff....
Thank you Scott!
I found that the Barisol browning solution worked grate on my rear dust cover I also had issues with the super blue
awesome, ill have to check it out.
Holy shit ! Great job
thanks man!
I have to admit I like the bayo lug being knocked off, makes for a sleeker looking rifle. Fine job on the blueing job to, that receiver cover I would take to a gunsmith an have them do a hot bath blue on it, just love an SKS tho, especially for a hunting gun/ hoggin rifle, good job bro.
Thanks man! I really enjoy the simplicity of the SKS but such an awesome rifle
@@ZRUSOutdoorsChannel If you go back to comments on your 1st vid about this, I disagreed with lopping off the bayo lug an other hardware, but seeing it done, now you got me at the point that I'm going to have to build a project rifle like this. An I went to "CHOATES " an looked at their stocks an really like the standard stock, only 73 bucks to, not bad for a woods gun, but I would have to do something about the rest sight, to old now to see the original comm bloc sites.
@@williammccaslin8527 yes, sir. I remember! The first time I handled one without a bayonet I knew that I wanted one. It’s sleek, doesn’t snag on everything, and doesn’t have any added weight. Plus, the choate rifle stock is very light, making this package a lightweight power house
@@ZRUSOutdoorsChannel Now only if it would take AK mags, but I have a true gunsmith available to do it, depends on the cost tho, but still love a original sks 10 Rd mag
I love the sport stock but the wood one was nice too
I am a sucker for a wood stock, but not this one.. Might possibly go with a BOYDS laminate later down the road once i sell a kidney..
Or some of your stash of 9mm, LMAO
@@williammccaslin8527 ha! Ain’t that the truth haha
very nice work. I want to do mine so bad but I don’t wanna mess up.
Fear can keep a person locked up and unable to carry on with what ever they are doing...remember try to remove the finish not the wood.......dont use any paper below180 grit...too many scratches...(allways go with the grain! ) work up to 800 grit..0000 steel wool it.... clean and dry it ......stain it ...I use tru-oil ....you can use what ever...be patient..steel wool after each coat dries...reapply oil and be prepared to enjoy a really great finish....
Any chance you could shoot me a list of products you used on that bad boy i love it wanna do one of mine like this
who makes that black stock at the end of the video? great job btw.
I’m refinishing mine now. In the receiver cover I see the same color differences in the middle. Strange. I’ve seen some people who mirror polish this not see that at the end, but it’s always present. Hear any answers on that area? Can’t be a metal difference. 🤔
Cold blue isn't really for doing entire firearms, it's mainly for small parts or touch ups since it is nowhere near as durable as hot caustic blue or rust bluing. Hot blue takes an expensive set up, but rust bluing is not hard, just time consuming, but makes a much nicer richer color and is the most durable of the finishes.
However, what you did to it definitely looks better than that duracoat!
Thank you, I pretty much knew this going into this video. Really just wanted to demonstrate what could be accomplished on a low skill, small budget, readily available kit. Thanks for checking it out !
I have two 38 revolvers and will use evapo o rust to de blue them but will only break pistols down to a minimum and soak, Ill try to do same with Vans cold bluing solution...do you have any thoughts? Thanks Bubba!
All i can say is, : remove any imperfections by sanding them down first. Then, re-blue vie the directions that are laid out.
Yep, you're not bubba-ing a rifle that's already been bubba-ed. ;)
My grandfather got 5 of those for 60 bucks each back in 93. I got one of them and chopped it up. I made it my own and absolutely love my bastardized SKS.
The receiver cover was probably heat treated a certain way. Probably no way to truly fix that.
Ah, gotcha
Good job, next time just use rustoleum semi gloss black paint. Worked great for the last 21 years for me.
I was going to use BBQ paint, but really wanted the blued look
Norinco,, yugo?
old norinco
Should've just sent it off for gold plating and put it in a tapco stock bubba....
Ew gross.. that’s unchristian like lol
sneak peek, not "peak" lol, good thing spellin don't count on the internets!
Hahah I seen that today and thought “no one watches all the way to the end, anyway “ hahah so thank you for that lol
