@@withTOKKI this was 7 years ago - I tried so many places from the fish market to eating at the subway, to finer restaurants. I don’t remember the names but the memories live on 😋🥰 at the time I thought I can’t believe how amazing everything tastes from the more modest places to higher end. Next time I’d love to do more ramen/curry houses and those kind of dishes as I was eating mostly sushi at the time

I am traveling to Tokyo for a week a few days from today. Even as a foodie myself, I’m not waiting on any ridiculously long lines for food for the sake of waiting. Those hours could be spent doing more memorable things like seeing different neighborhoods within the city. I’ve been to Japan numerous times and most establishments have high standards when it comes to food so you can try that instead.

The only sushi I have had raw was Salmon, Tuna, mackerel and Yellowtail. I am NOT a fan of fishy taste but I'm determined to try all the Tuna since I did enjoy that one and the Salmon.
And that was in the States. I can only imagine how fresh it is over there so I'm really excited.
BUT a part of me really wants to try Sushi Dai because I read it's a wonderful beginner omakase since it really doesn't have anything that adventurous or over the top. Do you find that true? Was there anything overly fishy at Sushi Dai?
And I didn't even know there was an eatery at the market that had JUST TUNA! I think that's a wonderful place to try all the main cuts!

    • @withTOKKI
      @withTOKKI  9 місяців тому +2

I did soooooo much research to understand if it was worth it or not, but didn’t fully realize our answer until we just went for ourselves. But for us, we both loved it. 🥹❤️
The whole experience was so unique- and memorable. But not only that, the nigiris were all incredibly delicious! For example, the horse mackerel (aji) we ate was so thick cut and was so flavorful. I loved every moment here. The vibes, everything.
It’s also kind of fun to suffer and complete the mission together. Idk how to explain it. 🤣
We also chose to go on the last day- so that we could just sleep on the flight afterwards. It was great.
My fav… that’s a tough question. They were all so good!
Sushi Dai, Tsujihan, and Maguroya would have to be my top 3!
But then - the omakase too…! At Sushi Tokyo Ten was also great, but I think I’ve done a lot of omakases before, so the other three experiences stood out more.
Hope this helps! 😍 lmk if you had any more questions ❤️

It’s a type of sushi restaurant where you entrust your order to your chef. Basically, you eat what they give you ☺️

About 5000 yen! So like less than $40 USD.
If you try it, lmk how it is. I wasn’t brave enough to order that one 🤣

    SUSHI TOKYO TEN

A nice assortment of higher end sushi establishments. However, ditch the ball caps. It is 下品. None of your fellow visible diners are wearing head gear. I have given your video a thumbs up in spite of your restaurant faux pas.

I'm sorry but these are definitely not the "top 7 sushi in Tokyo" The first one on your list is a tourist trap.. Maguro Mart in Nagano is a way better experience. Sushi Dai is so overrated for that long of a queue and another tourist trap. Tsujihan is great to have on the list to showcase kaisen don. But your picks really show that haven't done your research for your video title. I don't think these restaurants even land on the top 100 sushi restaurants on Tabelog (Japanese food review site) even after you omit all the $$$-$$$$ restaurants.
