Glad Lucas is getting more and more recognition. No one more passionate and enthusiastic about food, that can explain cooking logistics better than him.
Remember Anthony? But he is very close
Facts
Yes RIP Bourdain. But honestly, I get the same enjoyment as watching Lucas eat and explain too.
We all miss Anthony Bourdain, no one cooler on the planet
Lucas is killing the game right now
@@Theoryofcatsndogs I agree, Anthony is obviously the goat, and the gateway for all these new and upcoming chefs. Just gotta respect what Lucas is doing and how much he's been grinding ahead of the many influencers/chefs we see out there. Someone who knows his roots/classics very well but also is adapting to the new methods of cooking. His growth over the few years has been fantastic! Always excited to watch his content.
I’ll take as much Lucas as I can get. He is the best thing in UA-cam food content. His ability to simultaneously convey curiosity and knowledge is so captivating.
Lucas is just an absolute legend. And what an experience. Just fantastic from start to finish.
Thank you for watching!🍣Which sushi dish was your favorite?
@@NatGeo
Japanese & Korean people are extream health conscious.
Besides why they take soy sauce with sushi, Sashimi, Kimbap to damage their kidney and heart?
Do not they know high sodium in soy sauce very bad for kidneys?
Another Lucas fan here. Only he has the ability to take the audience there with him throughout every single bite. What a precious gift. Thanks NatGeo
We love Lucas and we love his fans! Thanks for watching❤
The moment I saw Lucas' name in the title, i had to watch from start to finish. his personality, passion and insights shine again.
11:51 "I picked up kitchen level Japanese... Which is 50% grunting" 😂
I felt that when he said that an ex telling him his Japanese was bad made him discard his Japanese.
@@imightbebiased9311 I am empathize. I am 1/2 Vietnamese and even my mom won't try to be positive when I try to pronounce Vietnamese words, makes it difficult to have the confidence to continue to try.
mayb why the ex was discarded
Lucas was so great in this. I wanted him to have this experience, and I loved how he appreciated it and was able to convey so much to us. Surprise him again somewhere in the world - it's super fun.
Lucas is probably the best at describing food. Very knowledgeable and appreciative.
lucas is the only chef i want to watch travel and vlog for food. very deserving
Anytime I see Lucas I will watch - the passion for food, the craft of the people behind the food, whether it be chef or fishing crew, is unmatched. He has a way of conveying this passion through his enthusiasm and attention to detailed that makes it brilliant to watch. thank you
Lucas is the only 1 youtuber i don't use 2 speed to watch
Loved Lucas in this episode, he’s clearly in his element 🙌 Can’t wait to see more of this series 🤫😉
So excited for the next episode!❤
Lucas is so good to watch. knowledgable and eager to learn more. great vid!
We love Lucas! Thanks so much for watching!❤
LMAO Lucas is on all the channels. It's apparent he's been eating very well too.
He has hasn't he 😂😂
Lucas is having his own Eddie Huang moment, he's everywhere now!!! So happy for him
The way Lucas can colorize and visualize taste with his words describing food is an absolute joy to watch. It’s like feeling that one scene in Ratatouille over and over again.
i'm soooo happy to see lucas getting more and more features on different channels. he needs his own show or series!!
More Lucas please. Such an articulate and expressive personality
Lucas is the best!
Haha I love the unpretentiousness of the grater guy.
Lucas: Do your philosophies match?
Grater Guy: There’s no philosophy. I’m just doing my job.
I’M OBSESSED WTIH LUCAS! PLEASE MAKE MORE CONTENT! A WHOLE SERIES ASAP PLEASEEEE ❤
Who's ready for an epic sushi experience?😎
me!!!!!!!🙋🏻♀️ everything looks so good😭
Hey, why’d you have to mess up lucas’ vacation like that when you could just as easily have sent me?
Went there 2 weeks ago for my first lunch in Tokyo and sat at the exact same spot as Lucas. We were transported so out of this world that both my friend and I forgot our backpacks at the restaurant. The host lady chased us down 3 blocks, carrying our backpacks with her kimono and wooden shoes effortlessly like a champ. Shout out to the entire hospitality team at Udatsu. And thanks, Lucas, for articulating your experience so nicely. I still struggle to make an adequate Instagram post to explain what happened after 2 weeks.
I was born ready for sushi 😎
@@xyberq 😎
That was epic. The storytelling and the genuine interactions with the two chefs were awesome. I’d love to be part of the film crew for this series one day.
Lucas is on every cooking channel it seems lol
love his presentations!
Lucas is a world treasure. Protect him at all costs
I'm glad Lucas is being recognized more and more. His videos on my hometown of Hong Kong is A++
Being pregnant with HEAVY food aversions, the one thing I’ve been craving since the start was fresh sushi, this episode has me nothing short of pure envy!
Chef Lucas is always a pleasure to watch. He seems like he has a great personality and I think it translates very well to the viewer.
Love watching Lucas describe food and processes. So articulate and I’m learning so much from him every time.
Greetings from Seattle Lucas! What an incredible experience you have shared with us. I’ve only been to Tokyo once in my life but I dream of the day I am fortunate to go again. I’m grateful to you for your teachings and wisdom you share when you cook and show us amazing places to eat during your travels. You’re an inspirational culinary educator.
Which sushi dish would YOU want to try?🍣
Yes.
fugu
i want to repeat his experiance! amazing.
Lucas omg hes d most lipsmacking 😭
All of it!
I LOVE Lucas's videos he is insightful, deliberate in his analysis and conveys joy in his experience he's not just another person eating food.....keep the videos coming!!!!
Love following your food journeys and adventures. Keep killin it Lucas!
Lucas taking over Nat Geo les gooooooo, making real hsitory right here
This gotta be the best respect and representation of omakase sushi EVER
All of Lucas's food content is always great. I also enjoyed the way this was shot, the atmosphere created with the sushi, polarized and setting. Awesome video
Subscribed because I don’t want to miss any videos that Lucas is in!!! Excited for more LUCAS!!!!
Omg so cool to see Marimekko design on the plates at 4:42!
Enjoyed watching Lucas go thru the process, makes me want to book a trip to Japan!!
I want to dine here! I’ve been eating sushi for 52 years. First sushi experience:
New Otani Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. When I saw mostly Japanese businessmen staying/eating there I knew I was in the right place. 🍣
Love seeing Lucas went through emotional moments of unpredictable deliciousness this omakase session 🎉🎉
So! Much! Deliciousness!
Please more of all of this. Thank you.
Lucas is so illustrative and inviting as he speaks! His passion and ever-growing content knowledge/experience is so fun!
More episodes please?
I’m glad that Lucas’ sincerity and culinary intelligence is recognised by everyone, that was really fun.
Of all the youtube videos and and 10s of thousands related to food that I've seen, this is truly one of the best. As an avid traveler and one that has lived many places abroad (including Japan), this makes me want to go back soon!
Great job picking Lucas for this! Hope there’s more to come in this Lucas series
Where should we go next?👀
Bali (local and fine dining), Lima/Sacred Valley, Seoul, Istanbul, San Sebastian, Bangkok/Chiang mai, Copenhagen, Lyon, Singapore, Penang, Rome/Naples, Hongkong, Beijing, Chengdu, Athens/Thesalonniki, Barcelona, HCMC, Hanoi, Hoi an, Manado, Padang, Jogjakarta, Osaka, Fukuoka, Kobe, Sapporo. These would seem like interesting places to visit next. Hope you keep the series going! It’s an interesting concept
Ready to go anywhere with Lucas!
Malaysia, Mexico.
Philippines 🇵🇭
Manila and ill host! Lol
absolutely love the simplicity in his dishes while still being playful but executing to traditional standards, great vibe, bravo!
I like every time Lucas explain every single thing in detail, doesn't sound like know it all but we learn new things from him. GOD bless him and stay healthy
Lucas inspire me to be passionate with whatever I do.
I really hope to be able to visit this place someday... It already feels so amazing to see someone experience it
Lucas - wow, thank you for being our guide on this journey! The sushi described sounds and looks phenomenal. I very much like your takeaway about no innovation without mastery of tradition.
I went to Udatsu this past august and it was an amazing experience and fantastic meal. Definitely the best omakase I've ever had
That's awesome! What was your favorite part of the meal?
5:53 This is all you need to know about the whole video and sushi in Japan. I had the same experience at Standing Sushi Bar in the Asakusa neighborhood and spent about $8 USD for many pieces.
What a journey Lucas had, and im glad to be apart of it. Thank you NatGeo paying the bill 😂
LUCAS IS AWESOME, excellent show!
This is very exciting to me. I feel safe eating sushi. I feel like it’s healthy and that people who make sushi are good people. But it’s exciting to fancy it up like this,… I don’t eat sushi often- it’s expensive, I’m in the states- but I hope to. I like this. It’s art.
Wow! Thank youforthe upload!
I already can’t wait to travel to Japan for many reasons and especially for the food but this is now putting me over the edge. Wonderful episode!
LOVING this style of video! Super entertaining!
I just love listening to music Lucas explaining things food related 😊
I love how talented and expressive you are chef Lucas as an incredible storyteller taking us behind the scenes while imbuing us with joy appreciating your funny, witty, and sincere personality. Watching you was like having a meal with a close friend, smiling at all your expressions and laughing at all your hidden ringers. I was dying at the build up to your haiku. That was so you. Thank you for sharing your authentic food journey. Thank you @natgeo for bringing us this series with your own storytelling artistry. ❤
LOVE Lucas! I learn so much from listening to and watching him. Thank you, chef!
There's something spiritual about preparing and consuming sushi like this. All of that was captured here. Great job!
PS...what drink did chef order? So curious 🤔
Amazing episode! Enjoyed to watch
Oh geeze.. I’m actually making noise just watching him eating the masterpieces!! I’m gasping, ooohing and aaahing!! Talk about interacting.. and I’m just watching on my ipad😂
Great omakase is difficult to describe. Even this host is having trouble! The best description I can think of is his: it just melts away into this flavor immersion.
It is a journey for sure.
We dined at Udatsu in late March 2024. The remarkable meal was every bit as incredible as Lucas describes and Chef Udatsu was gracious and good-humored!
Yay for more Chef Lucas! This is gonna be the best food travel series on UA-cam for sure!!!
Been to Japan and I had fun and everyone was nice to me because I treated everyone with respect
Nicely Done Lucas and Sushi Master🎉
When you tell Lucas one bite and not just the tip rofl!! 😂😂 His reaction everytime.
I’ve never seen Tokyo it’s beautiful and clean looking. I like it.
Wow, this is Great! I really learned a lot. Thank You! 🍣🍣🍣
Thank YOU for watching! What was your favorite part of the episode?🍣
I Really like Chef Lucas Sin's cooking videos because they teaching us great stuff. But it was also really interesting to watch him as a "Student" of sorts. Because of my years in Japanese Martial Arts, I learned that Every Teacher is a Student, and Every Student is a Teacher. Plus the Main Chef in that Tokyo restaurant I found very creative yet traditional. It made me want to be in Japan eating right along side of Chef Lucas! Thank you again. Please continue giving us this great content! :-)))))) @@NatGeo
Absolutely love this! Thank you for bringing this to the world. Fresh wasabi is more complex with sweet , citrus and earthy notes. New paradigms.
Thanks Lucas, you helped me pick my next splurge meal, which doesn't happen often anymore. It was either yakitori or something else... this type of menu is perfect
We just had lunch 2 days ago at udatsu. It was the most memorable meal and hopefully could get another reservation!
Lucky! What was your favorite dish?
Love all the content Lucas his in. Amazing video.
I usually enjoy videos with Lucas in them, but I felt like I was watching an infomercial with this one.
That was awesome guys thanks alot for sharing your adventures 😊
More videos like this please with Chef Lucas☺️
Holy cow! Lucas is now on NatGeo? Superstar!
This dude is a beast. His ability to convey the cooking methods, context, and history is something food media sorely needed.
Great piece! Lucas is a great choice for these.
i love every single one of his reactions after each bite haha
Amazing video. I love everything about this.
I’m surprised Lucas hasn’t been offered his own show yet. His knowledge and appreciation for cuisine is a gem
So well produced and done! Bravo
Here for chef Lucas and he certainly didn’t disappoint 😊
Lucas is by far my favourite person to watch on any youtube channel!
Another one to add to my list of must experience places
definitely want that experience.......
I would be in tears after that kind of meal. ❤
love love watching these videos....
Yummy coming out of the mouth of a great chef😂😂 so cute!!!
A friend and I were lucky enough to go to Udatsu in October. It was definitely the most unique omakase experience I have ever had and one that was truly great.
Absolutely amazing
12:00 relatable lmao
Chef Lucas is killing it, reppin the 852.
Enjoyed this so much!
So awesome NG got Lucas to do this. Have become a HUGE fan of his
