      You did amazing! I love playing jazz guitar, but I would have seriously struggled with this challenge. Your take was very well thought out, it showed a theme, throughline, and complimented the vocals and drums to an incredible degree :)

      It's so funny that you made it a ragtime song. Because there already exists a ragtime cover of MCR's song 'Teenagers' by Jimlapbap here on UA-cam.
      I'd love to see and hear a PMJ cover of MCR's 'I'm not okay (I promise)' or 'welcome to the black parade'. Haha

    My guy just slammed this out of the park. This is incredible. My friends and I actually choreographed an entire swing number to House of Wolves back in the day which actually is just straight hard emo swing. Scott absolutely nailed it.

    I think the thing i really appreciate about these videos, as a bassist and songwriter, not as a pianist as im not one, is the flexibility that exist in arrangement and how you can just start with something basic and build around that over the course of writing the song

      The cool thing about bass as Adam Neely puts it, is you can bully harmony. Chording instruments like to think they're in charge. I play guitar, piano, and bass in that order and they each have their own flair but have limits to how much/easily they can emulate each other

      Except that's not him. That's Matt Pelissier. Bob is in the music video but he didn't actually record the drums. Matt left the band soon after recording Three Cheers and Bob joined them in time to record the music video for I'm not okay

    I love this so much. It would do better if you had a more extended showing of the original and allowed him to compose something fitting and complementary to the original. We only got to hear snippets of that. It's so fascinating seeing someone extract their own feel and version of the parts from such disparate beginnings. The chorus where he allows the strings to resonate obviously fits better. I would just love to see more and more long form. It would be sick to hear his entire playthrough with the original track and updated perspective. Please don't shy away from longer formatting. Idk about anyone else, but I like long-form content. Not short stuff.

      I play a *little* bit of keys sometimes, and as far as I'm concerned this man is some kind of wizard. I wouldn't have thought this was humanly possible, frankly. It's a lot more impressive than anything I've seen a guitarist do.
