51 year old brother here, man...this song brings tears to my eyes cause its the epitome of 90s music...rock, rap and country music were all on fire and reaching folks from other genres, most of us in our 20s and younger tvs stayed on channel 3 cause Playstations and VCRs, whenever you turned them off MTV was there and to me either Blackhole Sun, this or U2 always seemed to be on, plus being from Central Illinois these guys were Big in my hometown back then.
Ahh, to be a teenager again in the mid 90's...there was no better time. Smashing Pumpkins is that whole vibe. Try Today, Mayonnaise and Cherub Rock, Bullet with Butterfly Wings if you like the Pumpkins. Billy Corgan, the singer, also had a band called Zwan for a while. Thank you again for an awesome reaction, I am glad you are picking up on the vibe!
😅teenager? Bro...I was married with children and living large, best time to be an American to me and I'm 51....good tunes everywhere, all genres, between my Playstation and VCR, my TV stayed on MTV and this song was on all the time as you probably well remember!! Good times.
@seansimms8503 Right on, dude! If I could time travel back for just 24 more hours and just hang out at places that are long gone now...maybe go catch another concert or two, see some faces I haven't seen in a long time, and yes, put the radio on and never touch the dial because every song was on point and just what you wanted to hear. Married and kids here, too, and I have been educating them on the good music that we had then. Got my daughter hooked on RATM and The Pixies and I feel pretty proud of myself for that.
The Smashing Pumpkins are one of my favorite of all time! They started the same era as Nirvana. Their biggest songs range from heavy to nostalgic. Sequel to this video is "Perfect" where the kids are older. "Tonight Tonight" is another pretty one. For HEAVY.. "Bullet With Butterfly Wings" and "Zero". 🔥💯
Yes!!! This album was amazing, definitely top 3 albums of the 90’s for me (two of them are by the Pumpkins) And SP might be my favorite 90’s band! No, actually, they are my favorite 90s band! Another wonderful reaction Mia, thank you 🙏🏼
'Zero', 'Love', even 'Bullet With Butterfly Wings', please. Just overall superior tracks off of the same album. Very versatile record; Unique highs and lows. Happy listening!
This is a good one. Smashing pumpkins were huge, their performance at the mtv movie awards playing tonight tonight was great, that show was an amazing snapshot into that time! You’d like tonight tonight and cherub rock!
Grew up in almost perfect time. Economy was booming, this was my grade school era. I was working full time graveyard while getting honors at school. I had freedom and my culture said- live and pursue your desire.
I've always LOVED this song! Didn't really fuck with the Pumpkins when that became the thing back in college. But this song SLAPS. It's chill AF. I mean IT'S GIVING vibe vibes. ;) This song doesn't automatically get love from every reaction channel.
Fun fact: Billy Corgan, the lead singer of the Smashing Pumpkins is the owner of the National Wrestling Alliance. I'm from Minnesota. Let's get some Prince. Also, nice reaction.
Yeah, this band was popular in the 90s. From about '92-'98 mostly I'd say. If you like this, they have a lot of softer songs like this, but personally, I like some of their faster songs, and I think you will too. Check out "Cherub Rock" and "Bullet With Butterfly Wings". And if you want a recommendation for another song like this one, try "Today". You won't regret it!
Because I keep seeing people say do Nas - Nas Is Like.. Mia is new. Biggest songs first then the deep cuts. "I Can" is big and motivational. "If I Ruled The Word" too with Lauryn Hill. "Ether" blew up cause of the beef with Jay-Z.
Hi Mia, im a newbie at the moment to your channel an so far Mm i llike it.. Smashing Pumpkins were a great band brings bk some good memories 😊. I've notice you have 1 thing in common "SmashingPumpkins" well Happy Halloween. And thanks for your Company 👻🦇🎃😘
By the way, give Silverchair a try. Mid 90s too. Song- Freak. They where just 15 years old Kids from australia. And of course Radiohead!!! Start with No Surprises. Enjoy!!!
Interesting choice... the Smashing Pumpkins were associated w/ the 90's grunge rock scene, although the band was from Chicago... not Seattle. And even though they were a band, the Smashing Pumpkins were basically 1 guy - Billy Corgan (vocals/ guitar), the main songwriter... the original band here (1995) was James Iha (guitar), Jimmy Chamberlain (drums) and female bassist D'Arcy Wretzky... Billy Corgan had been in bands in the 80's but returned to Chicago and formed the Smashing Pumpkins as an indie rock band w/ some progressive influences... Their debut album 'Gish' was released in 1991 and was successful on MTV w/ the singles 'Siva'... and 'Rhinoceros'. Signing to Virgin Records, Billy Corgan played all the instruments (except the drums) on the 2nd album 'Siamese dream' in 1993, produced by Nirvana's producer Butch Vig and it sold 4x platinum in the US (4 million copies) w/ MTV hits like 'Cherub rock' ... 'Today' ... 'Rocket' ... 'Disarm'... A collection of unreleased Smashing Pumpkins songs was released in 1994 as 'Pisces iscariot'... and it sold platinum. In 1995, the Smashing Pumpkins released a double CD "Mellon Collie and the infinite sadness" ... which charted at #1 and sold 5 million copies in the US w/ the singles - '1979' ... 'Bullet with butterfly wings' ... 'Zero' ... 'Tonight tonight'... Tragically, the band's touring keyboardist Jonathan Melvoin died from a he+++n OD and drummer Jimmy Chamberlain was involved - Chamberlain was fired as a result. The Smashing Pumpkins recorded more electronic songs than grunge rock tracks by 1998 when they released the album 'Adore'... but the album only sold platinum as the 90's trends began to fade... They released the album 'Machina/ Machines of grace' in 2000 with a return to rock music but the album sold gold (half million copies)... Bassist D'Arcy Wretzky was fired for drug abuse and bassist Melissa Auf der Maur did the tour before the Smashing Pumpkins broke up. After a failed new band Zwan and a solo record... Billy Corgan recorded the Smashing Pumpkins' 7th album 'Zeitgeist' in 2007 w/ Jimmy Chamberlain on drums... but a different line-up went w/ Corgan on tour. After a few lacklustre albums... Billy Corgan announced the Smashing Pumpkins were reuniting w/ James Iha (guitar) and Jimmy Chamberlain (drums) in 2018 but subsequent albums were still not as successful as their 90's records.
Mia these are some choices for you for some more Smashing Pumpkins. Fast songs are Bullet With Butterfly Wings/ zero/Cherub Rock,,, soft songs by SP mayonnaise/ & tonight tonight
Hey Mia you're on fire with these reactions. Smashing Pumpkins are one of the grunge eras best bands. Please if you want react to either Zero or Bullet with Butterfly Wings. Those will show you what this legendary band can do
I was never really into Smashing Pumpkins, but this is a really good song and loved your reaction. Can you please do Arch Enemy-Handshake with Hell. It's way more upbeat than what you've done so far, but would love to see your reaction.
*** NEW SUB HERE:))) Smashing Pumpkins is Iconic, they came along AFTER the 'Decade of Decadence' which was the hard rock of the 80's (Which was bad @$$) Their vibe was all their own, anything off Siamese Dream listen to and react...Cherub Rock, Today (Their first popular single), Mayonnaise so melodic. I grew up in Texas and played guitar in a band in high school, we jammed Pumpkins ALL. THE. TIME. Playing those nights at the Amphitheater at the lake...brings back so many memories....P.S. The Convience Store clerk in the vid is actually the Pumpkins guitarist James Iha.
A few days ago I gave you a small list of songs I think you’ll like. My suggestions were: Smashing Pumpkins - “Cherub Rock” Smashing Pumpkins - “Rocket” These are off their Siamese Dream album, probably their heaviest album.
Nice reaction, just found your chanel. Looking through your playlist I dont see a folder for the greatest band ever ( and a big influence on smashing pumpkins) Rush. You need to check them out especially since you like drums. I guess start with the song "Tom Sawyer". Your chanel will grow quick with Rush
Your gonna expect too see alot of slow paced kind of vibey songs from the 90's and even 2000's You should try some punk rock too. I'd recommend Green Day
Surprised more comments aren't recommending "Today" by Smashing Pumpkins. "Bullet with butterfly wings" is also a good suggestion though. I would also add "Siva" "Drown" and "Eye."
I must suggest again, Queens Of The Stone Age! They're in a similar vein to smashing pumpkins but have a harder rock sound that you'd love. Try No One Knows first.
Please, let’s steer her towards the good stuff. Not the mainstream smashing pumpkins like today and bullet with butterfly wings. If you MUST go the “mainstream” route, start with mayonnaise, cherub rock, Hummer. But I’d love you to listen to their first album “Gish” before moving on to the rest
The fact that you liked it might be 'cause this band is like Nirvana, they appeared in the exact same era with the exact same movement... it was Grunge!
Its the mid 90s. One of the best. Try Songs like Today (great Video clip), Disarm, Bullets with Butterflywings, Ave Adore, and Zero!!! Take a look at Billy Corgans (tiny desk concert, just 3 Songs, pure and lovely)
Since you liked Nirvana, Alice in Chains and Smashing Pumpkins then you are definitely going to like Pearl Jam. U must listen to Black - Mt Unplugged version....its AMAZING.
90s? It says it's from 1979!
@mariolopez3728 ...dude, was there MTV in 1979 playing music videos? Sometimes, actually think before you comment.
@seansimms8503 Look at the title of the video Numbnuts! It says 19freaking79! So YOU be sure to read clearly before you reply back to me, you idiot!
Ahh, to be a teenager again in the mid 90's...there was no better time. Smashing Pumpkins is that whole vibe. @@nicks8131Good job, I have my daughter hooked on Deftones.

top 5 bands all time! you won’t be disappointed with listening to them more
Yes!!! This album was amazing, definitely top 3 albums of the 90’s for me (two of them are by the Pumpkins) And SP might be my favorite 90’s band! No, actually, they are my favorite 90s band!
Another wonderful reaction Mia, thank you 🙏🏼
One of my favorite songs i was born January 1979 went and saw them as a teenager in DC
Yesssss. Thank you.
Wicked song. If you want to hear something more heavy by the Smashing pumpkins check out Bullets with butterfly wings
'Zero', 'Love', even 'Bullet With Butterfly Wings', please. Just overall superior tracks off of the same album. Very versatile record; Unique highs and lows. Happy listening!
This and Cherub rock are my two favorite songs by them. This band just reeks that 90's vibe.
This is a good one. Smashing pumpkins were huge, their performance at the mtv movie awards playing tonight tonight was great, that show was an amazing snapshot into that time! You’d like tonight tonight and cherub rock!
alternative rock from the 90s they would always play it on KROQ 106.7 in LA......its great you enjoyed it
Happy you enjoy this song so much
I loved it too. ❤
Grew up in almost perfect time. Economy was booming, this was my grade school era. I was working full time graveyard while getting honors at school. I had freedom and my culture said- live and pursue your desire.
Bullet with Butterfly Wings is a good one. Another suggestion, the band Living Color - Cult of Personality. Enjoy your music journey.
I've always LOVED this song! Didn't really fuck with the Pumpkins when that became the thing back in college. But this song SLAPS. It's chill AF. I mean IT'S GIVING vibe vibes. ;) This song doesn't automatically get love from every reaction channel.

Hello gorgeous Mia
Smashing Pumpkins originally from Chicago Illinois
Check out their one of their songs Cherub Rock.
Hell yeah. Smashing Pumpkins have some really good music. Zero and cherub rock are a little faster paced. Good reaction!!
Thank you for the reaction. I love the Smashing Pumpkins
Lots of Smashing Pumpkins songs remind you of a time that you never lived through. But they make you feel like you live in that time. Nostalgia
Yeah, this band was popular in the 90s. From about '92-'98 mostly I'd say. Great tune! I think for their next song I'd have to recommend "tonight tonight".
Smashing pumpkins ok this is new for me
Just Smashing!!! Pumpkins.
I miss the 90s, so damn much!! It wasn't even that long ago😔These new generations have no idea what they missed, and it makes me so sad.
