    Kevin Tetz leads you through the step-by-step installation of Molded Carpet from LMC Truck. This DIY carpet installation makes it easy to make your truck's interior look new, and if you take the extra steps to upgrade your sound and heat insulation as Kevin shows you, you’ll also have a quieter and more comfortable cab when you’re all done.
    If you’re going through the trouble of replacing the interior carpet in your truck, there’s no better time to replace the factory sound deadening with a long-term solution that’s more effective, and the addition of heat insulation as shown in the video does a great job of helping to maintain consistent temperature in your truck’s cab. The molded carpet is available in various colors to match or change your current interior, and because it’s pre-cut and molded to your exact truck, the fit is excellent.
    The removal and installation takes a bit of time but is fairly straightforward work, though Kevin shows you plenty of great tips and tricks to make the job even easier. This how-to guide is based on a 1981-1987 Chevy/GMC, but it should help with similar molded carpet and sound deadener/heat shield installations on other Chevy, GMC, Ford and Dodge trucks.

      Hope this project is going well! So many old trucks that get bought as a project after sitting for years wind up just sitting again and continue to rust away!
      We gotta keep these old trucks/cars going otherwise they will turn into scrap or another rust bucket!!!

    There's an easy way to do the bolt holes. Put the bolts in before you put anything on the floor. Then as you're laying the deadener/carpet in, push it down over the bolt head and cut it. It's a bit of an extra step, but it saves time hunting around for the right spot.

    Installation Question: Purchased 3 items - 1) EVA Sound Deadener Kit, 2) Heat Shield Kit, 3) Industrial Polyvinyl Floor Mats. Does the tar like item go down 1st? Then the fiberous material with foil side up second? Obviously, last would be the Floor Mats.

    You give the best instructual videos, but you neglected to mention that the custom deluxe, other wise known as the base model, doesn't come with kick panels. I almost drove myself crazy and wasted 1/2 a day on the internet trying to figure out why I would have to spend $80 to $100 to put carpet back in my truck like you did. Until I found a guy putting carpet in his shop truck
    A custom deluxe without kick panels. Please remember those of us with base models in your awesome videos. Thanks.

    This job is a gd nightmare. The padding doesn’t conform to the contours of the floorboard and getting the bench seat bolts back in is next to impossible. I put down asphalt sound deadening, jute and the carpet. They don’t tell you the carpet includes jute so now the bolts are too short. It is also a nightmare getting the bolts through the insulation.

    • @michaelanderson6258
      @michaelanderson6258 5 років тому

      I'm not totally sure what you're asking? I was talking about what the belt did at 8:08. The feed things sometimes doesn't feed. I don't know the words for it as I haven't thought about it for awhile. But some people get into vehicles and just slam their doors and if the feed does that the seat belt can get caught between the door and its final seated position. It can damage the seatbelt buckle, the metal frame spot next to the door jam. But I mostly told them about it so if they slammed the door it wouldn't make the fucking God awful clack that it makes when you do it. I can feel it in my teeth and it pisses me off.
