Congratulations!!! Nekkid Watchmaker is one of my favorite channels. He engrains an uplifting message in each of his videos, and does a great job of creating a sense of community.
"You have to put back each part where it belonges, or otherwise it won't work." Amazing insight. I'm happy they used someone with a technical background to narrate this video, otherwise that would have gone right over my head.
idc about brands but some of these mech/auto movements are mesmerizing to watch. tbh a good quartz movement is more convenient but the way it ticks is not as beautiful to watch as spring/auto movemnets that smooth second hand is unbeatable. Truly works of engineering art.
Joe/Nekkid Watchmaker really is the most skilled of the watchmakers with a UA-cam channel. In fact, no one else even comes close. So...good call, Insider!
Only a gifted, skilled, veteran artisan could perform this marvelous work! Bravo! Skills like watchmaking and restoration seem to be restricted to the older, more mature set of people. Make no mistake, these types of skills require years if not decades to develop. It is sad that most young people today would rather play around with a so-called smartphone than learn from a master like this gentleman.
Nekkid watchmaker is an awesome guy. Watched this restoration when it came out. Guys I recommend you subscribe if you’re into watches. He does amazing restoration videos
The guy's channel is nekkid watch maker, genuinely a very good restorer of all quartz and mechanical watches, I've enjoyed all his videos. He is one of the finest and most meticulous craftsman.
Nekkid! It's nice that you've been featured here. I've been a subscriber for years. Happy for you that you're expanding your reach! Wished that they have included "Trouble" and the "Accountant" too, though. It would really be funny.
Spectacular! I have the cheapest Carier Vermeil Tank that was gifted me in the early 1990's. I contacted Cartier April 2024, about refinishing and getting my watch in running order again. They do not refinish the gold plating. I would love to know if there is a person in my area that could renew my watch to its original beauty.
Just beautiful brining back to life such a marvellous peace of art. It is sad this is a line of work that no more exist if i could i believe i would do good on this line of work.
I've owned Breitling Navitimer watches for many years, I just like the style. On UA-cam there is a video on servicing them at the factory, and I was amazed at the complication. If you enjoyed this video, please try to watch it if you can. Sorry, not a pun !
This video made me love this watch. I actually offered to buy it from him but he never answered me just thanked me for my comment. I really wanted this piece seeing him rebuild it was beautiful.
those small ruby like stones are called jewels and they help reduce friction and provide a hard, smooth surface to allow metal components such as the wheel train to rotate freely
2:28 That isn't an ultrasonic cleaning machine. It just spins the basket in cleaning solution to remove dirt, oil, debris etc. At 2:40 you see an ultrasonic cleaner. A bit misleading to your viewers.

Now does the leather strap replacement come from Cartier? If it doesn’t do watch companies offer leather straps for their old models because I was thinking of collecting older model watches. Right now I have a Hamilton, two Tag Heuer’s and a Breitling but I’m really starting to love these older models especially this Cartier in this video
You can buy a genuine replacement strap from the brand's AD if you wish... But they're HUGELY overpriced and quality is "ok". Much better to buy from a brand that focuses only on straps, internet is full of high quality retailers for fair prices
I have two Breitling's and recently got my first Rolex. I am looking at my next purchase being an IWC most likely. Breitling will always be my fav though.

What he did is a standard procedure. You can take your grandmother's watch to a professional you trust and they will also do a similar work.
