My grandpa was a watch restorer. He'd get watches sent from all over the world to repair and I sit on the step by his shed and watch him. This video has reminded me of great times growing up. Thank you.

Today it's probably easier than before, due to cheap and full HD video filming. Anyway, I'm sure they start with the easiest watches and then they move to more complicated. It's a learning process, like everything else.

I love hearing your children in the background it reminds me of my childhood and watching (pardon the pun) my father work his magic on watches that no one wanted to try and repair. why are you blaming "society"? Blame companies that purposefully sabotage their products so it won't BE worth it to get the item repaired. and instead by a new one all over. When youre poor, thats just the lifestyle you can afford. You decant afford to buy longer lasting products because they have a higher upfront cost. Its not wrong for people to survive the best they can when companies aren't upholding their moral responsibility to make products that last so there won't be so much waste to begin with. Their greed has lead to environmental catastrophe. Not the consumers.

Not only is the restoration sublime, but the beauty of this video is wonderful, as well.
The part where you laid out the Lilliputian inner pieces after cleaning and plating the watch body was an exquisite image.
And I was delighted when you said, “well, at least the dolphin is in” because I had just thought how like a dolphin that piece was shaped.
