Had the pleasure of meeting Jason a few yrs back while working a party for the "hope for the warriors" org they had an office where i worked as a supervisor for the building security ( I am retired from the NYPD). Reason I approached him is that a real good friend of mine served with him on SEAL Team 4. I admittedly name dropped, after a quick conversation he asked if I had my friends # which i gave. It was nice to re-connect the two of them. What was even more nice was that I had mentioned my parents were at the event and my pops is a US Marine, he asked me to introduce him and his wife to my parents...I returned to my work and over two hours later the four of them were still seated and shooting the shit. My parents both said that Jason and his wonderful life were two of the most real, genuine couple they had ever met. The three of us have read his first book (me before I met him, my parents after they met him). So Mike, if you get to reading this send him my families regards to he and his wife from, if he remembers, the retired cop with the big head that worked the party at 55 Water street in NYC that grew up with his teammate Brett H. If not I wil still watch and choke myself, maybe even at the same time. Everyone should watch, Jason is a very col dude and he has some F'n story to tell. PS I have said it before in you comments section, thank you so much for what you for the K9"s. I am a dog guy, have the pleasure of living with two of em now, rednose female pitbull and a frankenstein mix of pitbull, mastiff, boxer, and possible powerlifter haha

@Joanna Kingston you are very welcome What is funny is both my friend that served with Jason and myself barely graduated high school. It was just so boring, I got hired by the NYPD 2 yrs later at the age of 20, my friend joined the Navy 2 yrs later. He told me i got my head out of my ass 2yrs before he did
Thats a great story thank you for sharing the experience you shared with Jason and your parents and you! After hearing Jason speak of his early difficulties he struggled with as a newly minted officer, I am totally blown away by his integrity and honesty in how he owned and overcame it! What a tough "row to hoe" as my grandfather would say. He was also a WW2 Vet who was with the Rainbow division in Europe and helped liberate Dauchau on April 29th, 1945. Thank you for your service!

Alot of lessons to learn from this guy. Where do you begin? Humbleness and humility is the springboard for understanding leadership. I dont know how many in my life God has brought me down to the pit to put me back in prospective.
Jason looks good. I can't imagine the will (and skill) of those who probably had to drag him to get his plastic surgery done, because from all of the traits that he displays (also referring to the letter posted in his hospital room ie.'Don't feel sorry for me, I did what I love.....etc'), vanity never seemed to be at the top of his amazingly long list, but he deserves so much and more. He is by far one of my favorite Vet motivational speakers. Humble. Certain. Deliberate. No regrets. A true hero.
I want to thank you guys for all you have given to protect our way of life. I am a recovering addict and sometimes I have bad days and I want to do dumb shit. When I hear the stories of what you guys have had to deal with it motivates me to continue to fight and make my life better. Thank you
Me too brother. Clean of anything illegal over a year but I am still going to the methadone clinic every day. It's better than being strung out and doing what we do to survive that, but It's a never ending battle. I too get inspiration from these guys, especially when I'm feeling sorry for myself and having a pity party.
Thank you and God bless you both. This podcast was right on time. My brother committed suicide 10Dec2019 and my baby sister just overdosed 09Sep2020. I have never been so lost and heartbroken, along with the rest of my family. I wasn't able to sleep, checked my UA-cam notifications and received this message. So, I thank you for being you and doing all you do.
When you get to have your own ‘Young Jamie’ behind the scenes, you know you’ve hit the big time. 😉 Loving the podcasts, Mike! Jason Redman is a FASCINATING guest with an epic story. The lessons here are seemingly endless. Thank you both for making this available. 👏🏼🇺🇸
As a Retired SF soldier, I truly enjoyed listening to this interview. To listen to an accomplished SOF soldier opening up and admitting they made a mistake, especially as an Officer, is refreshing to listen to. All to often egos get in the way of reality, and hearing him reflect and understand his missteps is huge.
We can never repay you for your sacrifices. Please know how grateful we are for all that you have done for this country going thru hell and coming out the other side. God Bless you and your family for you are the true definition of a warrior and a patriot. Thank you for your service to this great country.
Met Jay at an event in 'Naptown back in '14, he's a real authentic, humble and good dude. Took a lot of inspiration from reading his book and then meeting him at a dedication to a fallen SEAL.
If there is one thing that I have learned from Mike and the incredible guests on the show...Its how important a sense of humor is. If you can laugh and smile through any situation in life...You are probably going to be alright.

Awesome podcast as usual Mike. Jason, so glad for your miraculous recovery. You are a true inspiration for all those who think they’ve had it bad. Not a military guy myself, which I deeply regret however there were a lot of situations in your life that parallel mine. Of course with the exception of getting my ass shot up. I’m in a leadership position in my lame civilian life where I’ve made a lot of mistakes and had to learn how to own my mistakes and decisions. Once I learned to take ownership of my trials and tribulations, life became much easier. Stopped blaming everyone for my mistakes and earning back the respect of my men. You are a true inspiration to myself and many others. Thank you for your service and keep up the great work
Tremendous interview! Whenever I find myself pissing and moaning about things in my life, along comes a story like Jason's. Kinda puts everything back into proper perspective.
One hell of a guest and one hell of a story. This man saw a mistake owned up to it did a complete 180 and that takes one hell of a man (especially an officer lol) to do that. Then he survives the unthinkable to go on and raise a family and just be humble and smile. I applaud you sir you are a true badass.
Always love your interviews Mike. This was absolutely one of my favorites. I’ve read and re-read The Trident. Looking forward to reading his other books. Keep up the good work. Appreciate all you do!!

Thank you for your service and keep up the great work
As always, excellent interview. Amazing story!
Humble and Hard. Thank You Redman and Ritland.
I love the channel. Watched the whole way through. Keep it up brother
Tremendous interview! Whenever I find myself pissing and moaning about things in my life, along comes a story like Jason's. Kinda puts everything back into proper perspective.
Great interview. And those Ritlanisms put me on the floor a few times.
I'm so stoked for this episode. Thanks for the new content, Mike.
Thank the Lord above that he gives us men like this to protect our great nation
Great podcast as usual but appreciate Jason’s never give up attitude and don’t feel sorry yourself mantra . Thank you Jason and Mike
It’s really interesting listening to the same battle from different perspectives from the guys who were there.
Thank you Jason for sharing your story! Thank you Mike for another great Mike Drop! You do a great job Mike!
Glad I found this channel recently! One of the best podcasts out there could listen to these daily. Keep it up Mike these are all awesome guests!!!
