    • @JustAnotherSmith

      @Tenac 300 you sound ignorant. I mean that in the literal translation of the word. Aside from the normal mental health issues associated with suicide (with the psychological comorbidities of bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, addiction, and other personality disorders), PTSD for veterans is the result of terrifying traumatic events. You may be able to use your imagination to supply a terrifying event one may suffer during war time operations.
      The key word associated with PTSD is TRIGGER. The fact that an individual suffers from PTSD does not mean they are in a 100% state of PTSD at all hours of the day or night. There are triggers that can put them in a mental state. Perhaps they were struck by an IED while in a convoy and they were listening to their favorite song right before the IED detonated. Now, if they hear that favorite song on the radio it TRIGGERS memories of that traumatic and terrifying moment when they lost two of their battle buddies and their left leg. These thoughts then roll into the questions most soldiers have at these times: "Why didn't I see the IED?"; "Why did my brothers die, but I lived?"; "How will my wife still love me when I can't run and play with the kids like the other fathers?"; "What could I have done to save them?"
      These thought patterns lead to dark places. Places I can tell jackasses like you have never seen and could not compute. So instead of being a keyboard warrior and talking shit about a veteran being a coward for committing suicide when they are suffering from PTSD, go to your local VFW and say that to a veterans face. You sit behind your computer or on your phone and talk out of your ass, wrapped in the protection of anonymity.
      If you're ever in the San Antonio area, head on in to VFW post 76. I'll buy you your first shot of liquid courage. We can discuss your ideas cowardice at your leisure.
      Sincerely,
      Just Another Smith

They are NOT *BIG BAD BULLY MEANIES* When some a-hole is being a D*#k picking on someone else it's cuz they are picking on someone weaker! EVERY DAMN TIME! SO don't take it. STEP CLOSER TO THEM INTO THEIR SPACE. LOOK THEM IN THE EYE AND STEP INTO THEIR SPACE. In middle school and jr high boys would be A- holes and spit loogies on the ceiling then call your name and when you stopped they would say look up and it would fall on your face. Guys would walk by and grab you right in the crotch. Fricken Bullies, that was not a term when I was in school. There were "problems" and you fricken handled them! FRICKEN BULLIES HA HA! 😄 YA RIGHT. All of this bully crap! It just teaches our kids to take their probs to someone else and expect someone else to take care of it. Heck no man. Handle it yourself. If you get your butt kicked the first time you're not going to like it and you will defend yourself and there you go. I ended up in the Principals office 2x in jr high and 1x in high school for punching a boy ea time. It was the spitting over my head thing and then telling me to look up, grabbing my crotch and when that stupid thing called "Glanding" which is when they would eat sour candy and then their glands under their tongues would squirt out, literally it's spitting on you . The boy behind me did it 1x. Lol 🤣😆 A I never got in fights with chicks. They were stupid and wanted to slap and scratch. I told em if you do that Im going to punch you extra hard. We always worked it out and never ended up throwing blows🙂

    • @LiftRunFight
      @LiftRunFight 4 роки тому +3

      @Free Thinker I dont have the time right now to go in to the first one, but as far as the military being there to kill people, he's saying we shouldn't be doing half the stuff we are doing, which is less war and involvement. Having the mind that war is a nasty business will cause people to stop using war as a means to advance a political agenda. If it was always full blown hunt and kill every single person involved in a terrorist organization, the public would be less likely to get involved with needless crap. As far as having no ramifications for war crimes, I can guarantee you he doesn't believe that. He's keeping his standard as stated above. Deviating from that and killing innocent people would not be acceptable by him and hes said as much.
      As far as eddie Gallagher goes, you'd have to look in to the entire case before calling him a war criminal. The dude was present when an ISIS fighter died. He didn't kill him, but even if he did this goes back to his original point. Do you know how many times these full-blown terrorists are captured and then released because of politics? Either get out of the region, or take the murderers that are committing genocide and execute them with a quickness instead of catch and release

    • @LiftRunFight
      @LiftRunFight 4 роки тому +3

      @Free Thinker I guess you got me in; at 6:00 he explicitly says, in context, that it would be taking too far back to the old school to condone what happened to his grandfather. To make an observation, as he did, doesnt mean he condones the point. I definitely wouldn't be cool with letting soldiers kill allies in bar fights, but like with anything, consideration has to be made to the circumstances at play. Life is fragile. Someone can hit you, you hit them back, they fall, and never wake up.
      You call him a war criminal. You may disagree with his observations and opinions, but to call him a war criminal is too far. The man put his life on the line and served his country in whatever capacity it required. He's seen things, and is privy to things that would likely change your mind if you were to experience and see the same.

    Only 20 mins in and I am loving this guy!! He is so BANG on with everything when it comes to women being in any special ops with a group that is 99% male. Women should be in their own group at all times. From having a separate bathroom to menstrual cycles it is a huge problem in a man's world. Once you add vagina you have a pack of wolves that can smell that cycle a mile away and they will fight for it. The first one to poke it wins and then everyone else is pissed and problems start. From the guys that are trying to include the female to the guys that have a problem with her. So many more problems when you put both sexes in any military setting. This coming from a woman that dances circles around the men in my field. So glad I'm not in any type of combat or ops position.

    Honestly, I am all about equality. That being said, I am, have been, and remain independent, mentally sound, can and do carry the responsibility of both male and female roles in the family dynamic. I can, therefore I do. Where this point of view is concerned, I would have to concur. Not for any other reason other than the obvious....Women can be elite warriors, no doubt. Men are, and remain "specifically" hard wired to be the "protectors" that is correct, female and male units, irregardless of capability, SHOULD BE SEPARATE, not based off equality in ability, but in speciality. The unit's bond IS its strength, without that there is no efficacy, there just isn't. SPARTA is a prime example. It hasn't anything to do discrimination, social, nor gender. Separate but specialized. The African Kings had the elite warrior unit as well...The Homies. I have always needed a certain type of male companion, one that compliments MY role, and does NOT hinder it. He MUST be of a warriors mind, body, spirit, but with heart and can retain his humanity...Needless to say, I remain alone, weak males do NOT compliment but hinder me. The same applies in military roles, only roles reversed.

Like Mike was saying, it’s absolutely not the place to test that experiment- the highest possible level of military combat arms in the world, where people’s lives are at stake on a daily basis. It goes so far beyond whether or not a woman is capable enough to make it through training. If you take a woman and place her into a historically all male unit, you’re going to have problems and there will be a division within the group. It’s just human nature.

A lot of us try to come across as middle of the road, but under stress or caught off guard, we will be exposed as the hard charging Conservative limited government types. With respect to women in the military, there are some things to be taken into account. The comparison to wrestling games and other sports is not really relevant. And there are some very logical reasons why. The most important of them being weapons. In one-on-one combat, maybe few women would match a man, but give them a gun, or a grenade, and it's no longer a question of who has the highest muscle mass, it's a question of how fast and accurate they can shoot/reach a target.
    Second he says does it make them(the military)a more efficient killing machine, basically. Well again, with respect to women in the military, it's a question of are women themselves actually underperforming or are the men distracted by women(i.e. their own prejudice against women). Because if it's the second situation, which I think based on stories from the military, including this man's, it most often is, then those men have to be educated and taught to see women as allies, because after all it's the more, the better, with respect to the military.

    My thought is why would say Navy SEALs have to be co-mingled with men and women. Just like olympics have male/female specific contests…then have women “SEALs” and men “SEAL” teams. The title should be less important than the mission and serving your country….women can excel in missions/places where they are overlooked, underestimated, etc…so have women only teams that can handle some lethal stuff….it also lessens problems with all men on the team trying to protect the woman over all else/others, relationships that can complicate team dynamics/mission, etc. etc.

    My son is a Srgt in the Army today and with regard to the chicks in the military, He gave me a few reasons why its not so great from his point of view, - #1 they can't do as much as a man can strength wise and they do need help, But that wasn't the biggest issue. The biggest issue was distraction of the guys being interested in the girls. Its just a headache all around he said for a number of reasons. Its just waisted time and drama. ** To be clear & more importantly fair, I want to make an additional statement to my earlier comment** I can only speak from my personal account of the subject from my son being in charge of his people in his unit. It is a distraction for the men because most of the men are raised with manners to help and respect women, so naturally this is going to be them saying they will help when things are too heavy and too hard to do. Then it's just plain human nature if you have a pulse if a girl is around men they are going to be having a thought at least even if NEVER acted on but if she is not 100% focused on the mission or in any way a disingenuous person it's not going to work out well. **

    He is mostly spot on and he's an amazing dude that I like to listen to. But at 12:00, he just said there are probably women can meet the cut. Then immediately says because a mix gendered team will definitely have problems then women should not be there. That's absolutely idiotic. At that level, some gender based altercation shouldn't even be a possible issue...their minds should be way above that. If he is saying women cant be there because some biological issue that men and women cant overcome, then I agree with him. I wish he would say what it is in plain terms. Is it menstruation. What? Based on my understanding there would be so few women if it all as navy seals just based on merit because of the physical discrepancy. He said something about not going into the ocean because of their period, but is that even true? 19:49 he's making elite forces look weak minded. A female officer is gonna cause problems amongst alpha males...because of sex drive? Navy seals overcome their genetics to do crazy things in the water but they cant overcome the genetics of sexual desires towards women that it would hurt the team dynamics or that the men would be too genetically wired to not protect a male before a female. Come on

    I definitely see a bunch of guys who are on deployment and filled with testosterone and see a woman I see only flirting, jealousy, and distraction happening even if the woman tries her best to remain out of any relationships or fraternization these problems will rise up and hurt the mission set. I don’t thought that professionalism would exists amongst the guys working for woman they meet or work with on missions like medics, analysts, officers, interpreters, etc but it probably will change when your in the same team all year long and definitely would become an issue.

    I'm a woman and I agree with Mike. I don't agree with women being a navy seal and going to any kind of combat whether on land or sea. Passing training is different than being in day to day missions alongside men for extended periods of time. Men and women are different physically and in their mindsights no matter what anyone says. Let women try it. It will be evident. Alot of men will try to protect the women if they are in danger which can hold the mission up and make the unit weaker. Also, their physical strength is weaker I don't care what anyone says and that can hold the unit back and affect a mission. I don't care what anyone says men and women are different! I happen to like that and I have complete respect for women too. It is what it is and that doesn't upset me.

    As a woman, I am scratching my head at the idea that women should be Integrated into all male special units. We have our areas of expertise, but muscle to muscle we usually can't win. Think of what that means in a combat scenario. Honestly! Can't we do better by all of our troops. He's right. All female units makes far more sense.

    I actually really like the idea of the USA developing an all female special forces unit. I could see them leading at infiltration, sharpshooting/sniping. Maybe also asymmetric combat with cyber. It seems to me that training a specific unit like this with the awareness of the difference between male and female could be great in helping find new ways to improve

    I 100% agree with him on the use of the military. We shouldn't use it unless we absolutely need to get involved in an all-out war. If we do, and it is absolutely necessary for our country to survive, then we should stop pretending there are rules in war and use every means we have to make the enemy not want to fight anymore.
    Imagine if we had only attacked Japan's military bases during WWII. How long would that war have gone on? If we did end up winning, how long would we have had an insurgency? It would have gone on indefinitely, because the Japanese would never have felt like they needed to want to stop fighting. And that's because there was never a threat to their existence, only to their military. So what would their military do? Melt away into the populace and enlist them in the fight. It would have been an impossible fight to win.

    I love the top tier special ops guys because they take no prisoners with how they look at things. I felt the same way he does when it came time for me to either continue going to college or re-enlist in the military in the early 90's. I do not know if I would have wanted to deal with how the Army standards had changed. I served at the time when the old Army of Vietnam changed to the previous military of the Cold War. I loved it. I would have never changed a thing about what I want through with BASIC. Mentally I was prepared to deal with the stress of combat from how I was trained.

Almost monotone, but an excellent sense of humor, truthful etc. Other two extraordinary stories were about taking over an oil platform 25 miles out to sea and being infected in his lungs for 9 months. Both would have been terrifying. Finally, what's up with the lighting? Why is the guest barely lit?
