I'm still not sure why a lot of people didn't like infinite warfare it had a good campaign and an unique thematic and i get why there's a woman it could be a woman trying to help his country with blitzkrieg and there were few military women in ww1 so it's not completely bad that hand replacement is unrealistic for that time and we didn't even get a lot of the things in that trailer
The messaging was horrible. They're hoping to catch hardcore fans' nostalgia of BF 1942 but peppered BFV's trailer with microtransanction elements. Fans see and treat BF games as one giant sandbox for them to fool around in. The reveal trailer and EA's plan treat BFV as one big giant wardrobe. Throwing a tank into air to shoot down a plane is a fun thing to attempt by everyone even if it failed. Flashy costumes or vanity items mean either endless grind or whipping out your credit card.
Many of those who you were saying “DIDNT mind women in battlefield, it’s just tha-“ Nah bro. I’ve spent enough time around reactionaries to know what a fuckin dog whistle is. You even showed The Quartering for fucks sake. If the issue that sparked it all was truly one Reddit comment and a 9 second clip, then it wouldn’t actually have dented the release. You have dudes commit sexual assault and still have their media properties release to astounding success while their fans harass their potential victims to insane degrees. Gaming has had a real problem with really shitty dudes that have a knee jerk aggressive reaction to anything a woman says or does that’s even slightly cringey. They don’t see women as people, but rather these strictly ‘one thing or another’ kind of things- they’re either “one of us” or “screaming blue haired woke cringe wamen.” I’m decently sure that you are arguing in good faith, because the tone in your voice seems to give off some sincerity. A good chunk of the dudes that bitched about this were angry that there was a woman, but wanted to wait for the first excuse they could find to bitch-bemoan-gripe and harass. Battlefield 1 looked so realistic and epic but allowed you to have fun (with moments such as this portraited in the video) unless you feel like sitting in a trench for days is fun. So to sum up, I disagree with people who make comparisons regarding the game being market it as realistic but the gameplay has a lot more over the top action, because this franchise is about looking cool and epic while sticking with a realistic feeling as well as letting you play the game however you feel like.
It wasnt about realism it was about having that stupid narrative mocked by a CEO . All the people that cried about that guy bought cheats and 'got gud' at Warzone .
“Don’t like it, don’t buy it” and I’m still sticking with that for 2042. The thing with all the "only in Battlefield" - moments is, players "abused" the game mechanics to come up with hillarious unexpected situations, not intended by the developers. The difference in content between the launch trailer and what came later, shows that Dice and EA are very well aware their politics hit a brick wall. After putting an extensive amount of time into BF5, I have to say: it's not bad. Certainly, the overabundance of goofy cosmetics irks me (though I do like the fact that you can choose to garner more historically authentic attire like PBI and Feldgrau), and the game can be absolute bullshit at times, I still find myself playing.
The thing is the cosmetics don't really bother me unless I get killed by someone running a legendary skin in the wrong front ex: The German legendary skin with the white mask on a Pacific War map it just kinda takes me out of it. Battlefield lost my interest the second it threw immersion out the window in favor of whatever outside factor they felt like propping up. DICE nailed the "Realistic enough to not be disrespectful but fun enough to not be boring" nail right on the head until BFV, why they felt the need to change the identity of the franchise to something more clean and sanitized beyond belief is beyond me.
Most people got caught up in all this controversy and ignored what was really important, is the game actually good?. To this day I still adore bf5, not because of its message but because of the insane fun and chaos of the game
"Fun over authentic" doesn't really hold water since many players get fun from the immersion itself. If the immersion is ruined it's neither fun nor authentic.
Since you've been asking for feedback, here's my opinion. I first started following you when you were doing mostly Rogue. I've enjoyed mostly all of your RC content - BP previews, news/updates/patch info, live commentaries - they've all been good, so keep those up, not just for Rogue, but other games as well. As you've branched out into other games, I've continued to watch as long as the game is interesting to me (which I know is a really loose metric, lol). I don't play Apex, so I don't really watch those. I plan on playing BF 2042 and Halo, so I've watched those. All in all, I'd say keep doing what you're doing. I still enjoy your Rogue stuff the most, but I'm also enjoying the way you're covering BF, this video included.
2 Rules to obey when you want to play Battlefield to ensure a slight better experience, 1) Avoid Playing during the day (Weekday) or at weekends (Daytime): Player base is saturated with players with intelligence far below that what's needed to play the game resulting in some incredibly frustrating scenarios. 2) If you join a server mid game and you notice 10 players missing off one team, the team you find yourself on, leave, They were frustrated by the above, you'll only end up frustrated too. Say what you like about the game, there's one thing EA could never change 75% of the idiots playing it.
What annoy me is that the upcoming COD Vanguard butchered the history just like BFV maybe even worse, and yet the media never spoke of it. This is just not fair at all.
0:28 I actually support this. I understand that battlefield 5 is very far behind other games in the series but in its current state it's actually a decent game. It's in no way the best game in the series but I think people should look at what it is now as a game when they judge it instead of looking to its many controversies over its life cycle to make a final opinion.
Nope, fuck that SJW shit. It has slowly become a standard for every single game and I don't support it in any way. They'll just have to do without my money then. Fortunately there are still Japanese developers...
yeah, bought it on sale a week ago it's a fun game doesn'y have some things which were in bf1 like bayonet charge or horses but it's still a fun game the only real problem i had was that there isn't any russian faction or ussr faction, would've love to play as the reds.
“Right side of history” places people critical of BF5 in the same category as nazis and slave owners. I was told if I “can’t accept it” then I shouldn’t buy BF5 and so I never did.
Why can’t there be both. Historically accurate and a fun game. Everyone in the comments are saying one or the other. It doesn’t have to be a side to pick. You can be accurate and make a fun game. It’s been done before. We have the technology
They goal should be aesthetics (how the game looks and sounds) are as realistic as possible, while the gameplay can take serious liberties with realism. That was the formula from Battlefield 1942 - Battlefield 1 (with small annoying exceptions like Battlefield 4 allowing you to put Pinkie Pie on your parachute or the black German Scout in Battlefield 1), and its what works best.
I should add I mean "small" in the scope of the series. Battlefield 4 really, really annoyed me with how goofy it could become due to the customizable camo and emblems everywhere. Battlefield 1 still had those things, but the default was always something realistic.
Buying that game was the worst $50 I've ever spent. I probably didn't put in more than 3 multiplayer hours before quitting it while hating every moment. Didn't even touch the campaigns. B1 was the best pre-modern war period of the franchise. Other than server issues which was EA's fault, I have enjoyed that game a lot.
When BFV conflict spark among community, every beautiful memories I had with battlefield 3 and 4 all of sudden shattered into pieces. I never imagine the day battlefield community where we used to make goofy stuff about battlefield and have a good laugh after tired from school and all the excitement was left from my heart, it so painful to see the community who I adore so much just like my own family will be like this. So DICE, thank you for not repeating the same mistake as previous one, and I'm really hope you will not destroy the community and spark civil war among community again.
Now that you mention this, it did shattered my memories as well. This was around 5 years after joining BF community and i still remember i was having fun. Heck, even BF1 gave me a lot of memories. Ever since BFV, it just gone or at least feels like gone. I just don't have any memorable moments in post-BFV. I just hope BF2042 will come back we all love and move on from it.
I don’t even think it’s a civil war or things, Dice and EA just started to stray from what made battlefield Battlefield. I couldn’t even put 100 hour into BF1, it left a bad taste in my mouth, but I’m still playing BF4 to this day making amazing memories and having fun. I feel the biggest mistake they made was server hosting, server administration, and Battlelog going away. The social aspects of the game in the past created communities that let players play their way, and ever since BF1 it’s just not been remotely close to what we had in all the previous games. Clans, competitive, pistols only, tons of fun stuff. I don’t even know if they have that in BF1 or BFV, I never cared to check after I played BF1 at launch and saw BFV was just a BF1 reskin for WW2 without the 1942 cool bits. Basically I feel dice removed the battlefield from Battlefield, they removed the sandbox fun, cut game communities out, went with historical era stuff when they did way better with modern, did it twice in a row, and then got controversial. I pray BF2042 picks up where BF4 left off, with gameplay that keeps me coming back without worrying about content. BF1 and BFV needed “content” as a crutch, many of us still play BF4 original maps to this day for thousands of hours, it’s not a lack of content, it’s a lack of a good game period.
I was in a BF clan with hundreds of members starting with BF4's launch and everyone I know noped out of BFV after being disappointed with the BF1 setting/period and having lost all patience when BFV also went back to a very similar well. Never heard anyone mention any of this controversy. I never expected any kind of historical accuracy from BF... Always been an over the top sandbox (which is probably why there's a lot of skepticism over the motives of the critics).
The best gunplay of all time! I blame the community for the toxic vibe around the game. I just played 4 days of BF2042 beta, BF5 looks like a masterpiece..
@@JOE_XD nothing wrong with people who like and play it, but if I, a history nerd, see a game that is supposedly about ww2, then I will expect a game with some realism about ww2 Games would be bad if they had 100% realism, there would be no fun in playing something like that, but at the same time that also doesn't mean that realism should be thrown out of the window. That's basically what bf5 did... Bf1 is an example to follow. The amount of realism that they put into it is in harmony with the player being able to have fun. That's why people like me loved it
Battlefield 5 contradicted Battlefield 1 and went for more call of duty ww2 direction. And after that 2042 copied their heroic soldier model which is probably the worst thing they done yet.
It took me 2 years to buy battlefield 5. I was hooked to battlefield 1 and felt battlefield 5 was going to be a flop. 2 years after the release I bought it with all dlc on a discount bundle and I've been enjoying the game many hours. Liking the game more than battlefield 1. I think the launch was rough but they managed to fix the game and make one really fun and entertaining. I hope they fix battlefield 2042 soon. And make it at least playable cause some bugs really break the game. But I'm hopeful
I prefer Battlefield 1's campaign though. It was something different, and a hell of a lot of fun to play. I greatly appreciate the amount of love put into them. But for Battlefield 5... yeah. It took forever for me to beat that dumb chapter on Norway. It was just so fucking boring! Thank God multiplayer kinda saved it
I still feel like Dice could kinda save bf2042 in the coming future, i mean let's take bf4 for example. As long as they change the core gameplay and add new free maps with better core gameplay or just add complete customization with portal, like leaving the map designing and stuff to the community in portal could like save the game... I mean stuff like SAMP, GTA RP tends to last alot longer than original game, They'll still earn, while we get all the tools to try out stuff like milsims, arcade matches, core bf gameplay etc.
"The worst launch of Battlefield" ohooo boy do I have a game to tell you about I want to clarify - I'm enjoying Bf 2042... and I won't pre-order next time... however, I'm hoping to almighty Cthulhu that they fix it fast fast fast in a hundred ways. Edit: Oh, you already have a vid on it. Great vid (and this one!)
The fans weren't mad at women being in a world war 2 game, not even close. The fans were mad that the way they included woman in-game was disrespectful to actual women in world war 2, such as the Soviet snipers. We could've had an amazing world war 2 game that included the historically accurate efforts of women, but instead we got a half-assed insertion that makes no sense whatsoever.
I never knew how to put into words why I didn't like BFV, finally after years I found what my response would have been, is all about bringing those stories that don't have much recognition into everyone so they can learn something and be thankful for the sacrifices of those who have fight and died not inventing them or changing them because you fear that your game will be criticized for not having this or that.
What pissed me off was not that the game was made, but how much of the establishment claimed people who didn't like it were sexist. That's a charge so absurd even they can't truly believe it. It would be like saying people who were irked by Altair's accent in Assassin's Creed were anti-American. Speaking of anti-American, where was voice customization? If we're supposed to be characters that represent us, why can't I play as a German who speaks English with an American accent? (actually this essentially was an option in Battlefield 2, it was called "English VO only", but only you could hear it and most people avoided it)
I think that EA should always try implement a perfect balance with battlefield games that is between playing as whoever want but also feeling like you are part of something bigger. As soon as you make characters too unique or, on the contrary, too structured, you either begin to play like you are superior to every other player or get bored because there is no individuality.
Honestly, people that actually played BFV disliked/hated it less for this, and more for controversial gameplay changes, like bad visibility, spotty balancing, all the TTK shenanigans, and so on.
WWII has so much rich history and amazing men and women in it, I am confused how none of it was good enough to be put in the spotlight of BF5. Instead we saw EA catering to misandrists on twitter and people obsessed with identity politics.
This is BF V: Squad leader: Everyone, attack that hill! Medic: Sorry sarge, I can't. I have my daily order to build a snowman. Sniper: Sorry. I was ordered to sit in a motorcycle for 5 mins. They promised 100 coins for it to by some new boots. Support: Sorry. I have to carry 3 sandbags and after that I have to find any random transport vehicle and fix it. I probably need to break it first though. Assault: Yes, sir! But can we do it by crawling? I was ordered to attack 5 persons with knife only while crawling.
This would have never happenned if they added a Russian or polish or french female fighter WITH prostetics. It would not be unrealistic bc all those countries had large amount of female fighters. The prostetics would also be realistic bc unlike the US and britain, if you were disabled, you didnt get to go home like in the us/british army. If you were a french/polish resistance fighter, or a russian regular, the odds that disabled people had to keep fighting were much greater. But you cant have a female lead in battlefield, bc the current status quo says that russians are our enemies! And the hipocrites at battlefield chose the wrong side of history, which is the side that labels russians as the enemy rather than as human beings. So somewhere in the world a little russian girl is crying as she asks her dad "why does american media paint us as the baddies?"
i actually liked bfv and most of the complaints that people had from that trailer was irrelevant when the game came out the game had actually other problems with content being to thin but the biggest problem was dice changing the entire gun play when the gun play was really good already i actually did like the setting of bfv of this time where it was a very dark time for the allies in the war and the British was thinking they were loosing the war
I didn’t even bother buying it, I disliked BF1, battlefront was a flop, and overall the gameplay itself along with the drama just made me say no. Still playing BF4 to this day and have no desire to touch V.
@@ApolloTheDerg battlefront didn't flop launch yes but over 2 years of support it was getting shit ton of good content it was getting alot of people to play the game until at April of 2020 they stop supporting it cas they took the team to make the new battlefield

Maybe it’s “good” now, I didn’t have a good taste in my mouth with the last one and I have little reason to buy it now. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
One thing that wasn't factored into it was people were tired of historical world war setting as we'd just played ww1 to death in battlefield 1 and either wanted modern or futuristic. I personally loved the gun mechanics on bfv but not enough weapons and customisation. Also when you are spawning on someone and someone fires one round within 20m of them and you have to respawn. That's so frustrating.
the guy who F'ed up has been sacked. as far as I'm concerned they have done a 180 as far as listening to the fans and really pushing fan service. 2042 looks like a "we are sorry, please come back" from my point of view. I also loved the beta cause i really miss The Battlefield
The social justice cause in the game's design was never bothering to any sensible and comprehensive person. The real flaw in this chapter was introducing a WW2 shooter video game piece whose presentation was colorful, nonsensical, sci-fi, over the top and far-fetched, showing characters meant to represent soldiers yet wearing blue face paint and a jacket and carrying a piece of wood in their hand, instead of the uniform, weapons, scenery and art style everyone would wish for and expect in a military setting based product.
I'm not so sure that not wanting political statements in your escapism pieces would be considered being non-sensible. Video games, at their core, are an escape, and MANY people don't appreciate modern politics to be shoe-horned into their escapes. One of the purposes of an escape piece is to not think about nor worry about current politics and social issues. Especially if the game itself is outright not about modern issues. No one buys a WWII game and expects to have modern politics thrown into it, which they CLEARLY did, that isn't debatable. He even stated as such, that doing this would "be a fight", as in fighting the audience that he knew he would upset by shoe-horning in his personal politics and beliefs. Do not call those who want proper escapes non-sensible, that is very sensible, and realistic. What you just said is identical to what the ex-EA Chief Creative Officer said. He called those who are upset "uneducated", and you call them "not sensible". Good thing you aren't in a high position like his, you'd get fired just like him lmao.
Yes. Helmet graffiti was popularized in Vietnam. Mostly accredited to a world superpower fighting a technologically inadvanced threat, and the new generation's consumerist and counter-culturist upbringing.
@@supersonicstrat I also just read that soldiers in the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment in the American 101st Airborne Division did have a spade symbol painted on their helmets as an emblem of good luck
I'm a woman and a feminist, and I thought that reveal trailer was pretty fucking stupid. There are so many authentic stories to tell of women fighting in wars throughout history, they could have told any number of those. I agree with the original statement about his daughter, and I think it was in good faith, but if you are doing a historical game, then you should be doing historical women, not weird fake made up ones that take away from the accomplishments of other men and women who sacrificed their bodies and souls to fight that war. It is not mutually exclusive to include female characters so that women don't feel excluded from feeling like they can play something that better represents themselves, and being historically accurate. Most of the attitudes by the execs and such surrounding the situation were just piss poor too.
No it was not good faith, it was him pandering and pushing an agenda. At the time of him telling that story about his daughter she was an infant and also even if she was around the age of playing video games what is he doing letting a minor play an M rated game?
is it me or doesn't the community understand what that guy meant with “The right side of history”. He wasnt talking about the past, but the present. He is talking about feminism and representing women in media. Well either way, he deserved that shit storm
The ending made me sad. Your videos are fantastic. Don't let the numbers get you down. I know it's cliche, but asking people to like and subscribe at the beginning of the video does help.
Well, there is the other part. When people say BF4 was the last good battlefield, they didn’t like 1 so much, and BFV was just a new version of BF1. I didn’t like BF1 all that much, I have almost 4,500 hours in BF4 alone, but under 100 in BF1, I didn’t even bother buying BFV, the controversy aside I felt dice was just going the wrong direction. Lack of actual sandbox, not even going after what made 1942 good, failing to have many of the features a lot of us wanted from a WW2 game, and they didn’t even put the big known battles in. They stopped battlelog and all of its cool community features, community run servers with wacky rules, and overall killer what a lot of us enjoyed in the older games. I still have yet to even try V, I don’t really care to. I won’t install BF1 again either, no desire. I’m still playing BF4 almost daily, if that is a testament of it’s solid gameplay. Overall I feel Dice missed the mark, and then slipped up with the stupidest stuff they could have possibly slipped on. It was a legendary blunder but it was not the downfall. Simply put, we saw what they did with battlefront and BF1, the direction was just wrong, they tried to innovate and neglected what made their games good in the first place. Especially that sense of community that every game before BF1 had with custom servers and the like. This is what has me somewhat hopeful about BF2042, the return to what they did good, I can only pray they nail it.
BFV could have been one of the best BF games (or at least a LOT better) if they just stuck to the atmosphere and style of BF1 but still had the BFV gunplay, engine, basic mechanics, movement etc
I was hard in Battlefield between *3* and *V* (except Hardline). And i noticed players were only upset about the _realism_ when it was about races or women. Nobody complained about helicopters in WW2; or every class using full auto and _"experimental"_ weapons and the excess of vehicles in BF1. But i do remember people literally saying WW1 was "desecrated" because it was the _last white man war._ Let that sink in.
That’s called a “dog whistle.” Bigots don’t like to be called out, hell half of them are in denial. So they use dog whistles- things that mostly attract like minded thinkers but alienate moderates who don’t have experience with dog whistling.
Apparently in Battlefield 2042, you play from a pool of 10 or so multinational specialists regardless whether you are Russian or American. At least in Battlefield V, cyborg British women felt British. Now we can't even demand that much.
I like this that capitalism kinda work. CCO said something stupid -> can't sale game -> get fire -> hire someone competent and so, now we get BF2042. the biggest talk in the gaming world now(and probably the best battlefield).
This was a nice neutral point of view, thank you. I never purchased a Battlefield game before but always admired BF4. Whenever I saw trailers to BF V I always were confused the way they went with it
Liked. Subscribed. You have a great voice for presenting, and you put this story together in context while also educating your audience on historical facts. It's a shame they marketed this game the way they did. In its current state, as you mentioned, Battlefield 5 is a really fun game. They really dropped the ball with the release of this one. It could have been one of the greatest battlefields, and arguably, maybe it still is one of their best. Too bad a lot of their fans were turned away from the get-go and will never find out.
I really hated the story about the heavy water factory. Mostly because I read a book about it. Sabotage: The mission to destroy Hitlers Atomic Bomb. It’s a disrespect to the men who went through hell and back to complete the mission.
Yup this video nailed it on the head really hard. Thankfully In a post Soderlund world, 2042 looks like they've learned their lesson this time around. But I was apart of that initial reveal stream. They splashed words like "the most immersive and authentic battlefield yet" during the live stream all the way up until Trevor Noah showed up, and then I'm pretty sure the DICE employees sitting on the couch said it one more time before the reveal trailer played. Because yeah, if they wanted all this crazy nonsense that's totally fine, Alt-History in video games has been around since the creation of games with a story and proper setting, follow Wolfensteins example if one must. Otherwise if they really wanted to push for the kind of content they wanted to push, choosing a "authentic" WW2 setting was just really silly, when you could have either gone alt-history as mentioned before, or y'know, bite off the heel of 2142 and do something semi futuristic and unmarked by historical context 🤷♂️ it really didn't take a brain surgeon to think that one through, and then failed to read the room lol
How did you get around the lack of orbital lasers and giant mechs fighting giant monsters? I mean if you go to history books for accuracy, then not having such things means it's a boring game for limited minds...
1:59 Funny thing about him saying that, not only was he given heaploads of shite for that statement by the internet, UA-cam channels and media outlets, he was fired from DICE like a year later, so I think his higher-ups disagreed with him on that. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against womens rights and equality etcetera, etcetera. but the thing is, the time period the game is set in, and the parts of the world where it is set means that female soldiers (on the front lines at least) were virtually inexistent. 640,000 women in Auxiliary roles in a force comprising of 3 million active servicemen on top of that from Britain alone. In the Russian and Finnish armies, and later, Germany as well, it makes sense because that's fact that women served in combat on those fronts. And don't even get me started on that stupid mechanical arm, she'd have been discharged for being unfit for service with that damn thing.
He wrote, "I will find myself on the right side of history." That line shows the move had nothing to do with altruism. He wanted to be a celebrity martyr. Just more of the same lazy virtue signaling we've seen time and time again.
Battlefield has such a HUGE History. Eventually they will obviously commit a mistake throughout this protracted storyline. However, this game still remains one of the best out there!❤❤
Yes battlefield has always been about fun, but its also been about immersion. I don't mind having women characters to play as, but if it's not historically accurate, it breaks that immersion.
Martha Cohn is perhaps my most favorite WW2 Veteran alongside Stan Lee and Desmond Doss. She was a French-Jewish Spy in Nazi Germany. She is and remains to me as perhaps the most badass spy from that era. If you told me BJ Blazkowicz from Wolfenstein was remotely inspired by her as she masked her identity by pretending to be German from her similar features to those of Aryan Germans during the time I would without a doubt believe you. Battlefield V did nothing but tarnish the legends that these female heroes left from the incredible amount of sacrifice they've made.
BFV's pacific DLC was a whole different game. Never had so much fun since In the name of the Tsar in bf1. I felt like i was on Iwo Jima and a pacific island. It was soo good until they messed with all the weapons' ttk and turned them into peashooters at range
UPDATE: *Battlefield 2042 has entered the chat*
I'm still not sure why a lot of people didn't like infinite warfare it had a good campaign and an unique thematic and i get why there's a woman it could be a woman trying to help his country with blitzkrieg and there were few military women in ww1 so it's not completely bad that hand replacement is unrealistic for that time and we didn't even get a lot of the things in that trailer
I just subscribed. It’s not crap

@@Alecxace I mean, this was also in the wake of things like Gamergate. While "they hate woman" certainly isn't the full story, claiming it didn't play a substantial part is idiotic.
@@swapode gamergate was 2014-2015, this game launched in 2018. The people that buy Battlefield did not give a shit and still don't give a shit. the horrible trailer (with arguments against the prosthetic arm lady) and the absolutely horrid response to fans led to the sales bombing in the first few months and the game going on sale.
I'd argue telling the core audience "if you don't like it, don't buy it", "get educated" did far more damage. It also doesn't help that DICE/EA has serious issues when launching a new title.
Also, notice no-one cares that women or non-binary persons are in BF2042. The major issue even there is that the launch is once again a disaster.
@Alecxace Ah yes, let's pretend that EA's (admittedly poor) take wasn't a direct response to tens of thousands of misogynistic comments.
And let's pretend that the wave GamerGate brought to light just disappeared in 2015 and isn't an ongoing thing. While we're at it, we can also pretend like GamerGate was about ethics in gaming journalism.
If we pretend enough it certainly will become a worthy cause.
Battlefield V: I have the worst launch in Battlefield history
Battlefield 2042: *Hold My Beer*
After putting an extensive amount of time into BF5, I have to say: it's not bad.
Certainly, the overabundance of goofy cosmetics irks me (though I do like the fact that you can choose to garner more historically authentic attire like PBI and Feldgrau), and the game can be absolute bullshit at times, I still find myself playing.
The cosmetics irk the shit out of me too, it makes me put the game down sometimes
The thing is the cosmetics don't really bother me unless I get killed by someone running a legendary skin in the wrong front ex: The German legendary skin with the white mask on a Pacific War map it just kinda takes me out of it. Other than that the game is decent & the gunplay is addictive, don't really side with the people who say the game is absolute dogshit because that's an overexaggeration imo.

It really pissed me of to se how they made the story, I mean it would not have been so difficult to switch to a guy, + four more, and make the whole story a stealth operation, then it would have been much closer to the right story
Yeah I heard quite a few norwegian people were upset by that mission. The real story is super interesting too
What I hate the most, and what their doing in bf2042, is the player skins, and unique characters.
It's a game about the military and war. I hate the focus on individuality
It puzzled me because all they had to do was make a character creation feature. Let people pick there race and gender on multiplayer. Best solution to the problem was not to side with anyone and compromise
That was how they did it from the very beginning. Have you even played the fucking game? The compromise is admitting that it’s not historically accurate but allowing you to do that.
@@zeplyn-r6 it does not matter if it is historical accurate because it is a video game you should read a book not play a video game if you want to learn about history

EA: Fun over realism
BFV: You don't have infinite ammo in vehicles and need to keep going back to refill ammo
Omg so fun
Battlefield lost my interest the second it threw immersion out the window in favor of whatever outside factor they felt like propping up. DICE nailed the "Realistic enough to not be disrespectful but fun enough to not be boring" nail right on the head until BFV, why they felt the need to change the identity of the franchise to something more clean and sanitized beyond belief is beyond me.
'War In The Pacific' was such a damn good trailer, on par with BF1's cinematic trailers
Such a shame
Most people got caught up in all this controversy and ignored what was really important, is the game actually good?. To this day I still adore bf5, not because of its message but because of the insane fun and chaos of the game
To be honest it would had been better if they used D-day as the reveal trailer instead of the fictional twisted steel map.
2 Rules to obey when you want to play Battlefield to ensure a slight better experience,
1) Avoid Playing during the day (Weekday) or at weekends (Daytime): Player base is saturated with players with intelligence far below that what's needed to play the game resulting in some incredibly frustrating scenarios.
Well everyone expects cod games to suck since their yearly releases. With bf its different
it is because bf has high expectancies while cod has none
@@nimanp-cy4rh it does have bayonet charge
@@yngwok2839 well then i didn'tpay enough attention.
Should have left WW2 to Medal of Honor.
This… didn’t age well…
Yikes
@@MozambiqueEnjoyer6097 Yeah i remember it was quite bad when it came out.

Never heard anyone mention any of this controversy. I never expected any kind of historical accuracy from BF... Always been an over the top sandbox (which is probably why there's a lot of skepticism over the motives of the critics).
I absolutely love BFV, the kill feed is so satisfying, the maps are decently interesting and the game looks amazing.

Games would be bad if they had 100% realism, there would be no fun in playing something like that, but at the same time that also doesn't mean that realism should be thrown out of the window.

Every battle field game is buggy at launch it will get patched
Anyone who says they are on the “right side of history” is often on the wrong side.

The fans weren't mad at women being in a world war 2 game, not even close.
The fans were mad that the way they included woman in-game was disrespectful to actual women in world war 2, such as the Soviet snipers.

You need to be finally able to play as Germans in the campaigns. Last Tiger was a good start.
Yes. The Germans need more humanization.
This is genuinely a good channel, deserves more subs, it'll get there for sure though
Appreciate that, Ketchup Dispenser
I love watching your videos. Thanks to help me understanding a bit more why BF5 was so bad.

Honestly calling it an alternative reality spin off should have been better. It's not the first time battlefield has been bonkers.
This is BF V:

This was a nice neutral point of view, thank you. I never purchased a Battlefield game before but always admired BF4. Whenever I saw trailers to BF V I always were confused the way they went with it
To be honest I've felt from the first day that the game got more than it's share of hate.

One thing about BFV that does deserve merit: Its music.. top notch original pieces.
Absolutely, Patrik Andren and Johan Soderqvist did a fantastic job.
Yes battlefield has always been about fun, but its also been about immersion. I don't mind having women characters to play as, but if it's not historically accurate, it breaks that immersion.
Lol no it doesn't ... I play bfv daily . Trust me , you don't notice the women at all in the game

I was one of the few who never hated BF5 at any point
Same here. BFV is tons of fun, people just want to find reasons to be mad.
