So it likely means you need to play the visual novel to truly admire the shit-stain that these OVAs are Edit: I forgot to mention, that these OVAs are used in their games as respective cutscenes, so it's a bunch of spliced up visual novel cutscenes put into an OVA, which explains why the plot skips so much. It would be like if Kojima decided to bundle any of his game's cutscenes into a 'movie' with no transition or context whatsoever

I work in cardiac surgery and can chime in a bit on the "heart massage". It's a technique used by the surgeon typically for cardiac arrests or when the heart has inadequate output, basically to manually pump the heart in an emergency. In my field it's used typically after a cardiac case in which the heart was arrested and trying to beat again and the chest is already opened in order to fix the problem (called a sternotomy). It's not something you "get ready" as the anime suggests and there are much easier methods than to do a sternotomy or thoracotomy just to do a heart massage that they should have tried first like chest compressions, since Takeru looks like he's laying there with his chest still closed and unprepped lol then again, idk how they do things over in Japan 🤷♂

I just feel bad for the animators who had to put in hours of their live creating something nobody likes. Although the animation is of the highest quality it is still something someone had to work hard on.
To note: the studio responsible for making mars of destruction is a studio called wao world (who's strength seems to be more towards producing than animating), however it was produced by idea factory and a few others. To my knowledge wao is still around today, and mars of destruction is a adaptation of a visual novel game of the same name by idea factory. For my weebs out there, you may know them as the creators of hyperdimension neptunia (which to summarize the game, take the concept of the 'console wars' and turn them into anime girls).

I'm not sure if you've already watched it or talked about it, but you should watch Ex-Arm. Its a modern classic terrible anime, its rated 2.93 on My Anime List. Just in the trailers I was able to see some clear animation mistakes, but the worst part is the overall look. They somehow thought it would be a good idea to use bad 3D-CGI mixed with 2D that's also just not good. Also, at the end of one of the trailers, they call out every other Sci-Fi series and challenge them saying this would be the best.
Ex-Arm was a fantastic comedy anime and I miss it dearly tbh. I still remember Gigguk stealing my joke from the trailer comments about declaring war on anime like that constituting a war crime (most likely a coincidence that I just enjoy joking about, but that comment was oddly popular)

The worst anime I've seen is still the censored version of Pupa for the tv-release. The episodes are only a couple minutes long, but half of each episode had to be hidden because of the gore. It was mind blowing how much they had to hide; I would recommend just looking at images of that disaster.
A Turkish youtuber names "Dost Kayaoğlu" also made a video 3 years ago, reviewing this anime. He says he found it in 2009 when he was extremely bored. He scrolled down MAL and saw the horror tag on this anime and though '"maybe, this is the anime i long for". If you want to watch it, the video's name is "Gelmiş Geçmiş En Kötü Anime". Although it's in Turkish, there are some other anime references throughout the video so you may like it.

So the "heart massage" is a cultural thing. In France, and some other countries, they refer to the chest compressions during CPR as "Heart massage".
In Germany it literally translates to heart pressure massage.

I just feel bad for the animators who had to put in hours of their live creating something nobody likes. Although the animation is of the highest quality it is still something someone had to work hard on.
To note: the studio responsible for making mars of destruction is a studio called wao world (who's strength seems to be more towards producing than animating), however it was produced by idea factory and a few others.
To my knowledge wao is still around today, and mars of destruction is a adaptation of a visual novel game of the same name by idea factory.
For my weebs out there, you may know them as the creators of hyperdimension neptunia (which to summarize the game, take the concept of the 'console wars' and turn them into anime girls).

Fun fact: I did loads of work with Idea Factory to help promote their games, then suddenly one of their community managers went full /r/niceguys on me and suddenly became full passive aggressive, tearing into me, saying nobody there had ever heard of me and I was a complete waste of their time. I'm not sure if you've already watched it or talked about it, but you should watch Ex-Arm. Its a modern classic terrible anime, its rated 2.93 on My Anime List. Just in the trailers I was able to see some clear animation mistakes, but the worst part is the overall look. They somehow thought it would be a good idea to use bad 3D-CGI mixed with 2D that's also just not good.
Also, at the end of one of the trailers, they call out every other Sci-Fi series and challenge them saying this would be the best.

Ex-Arm was a fantastic comedy anime and I miss it dearly tbh. I still remember Gigguk stealing my joke from the trailer comments about declaring war on anime like that constituting a war crime (most likely a coincidence that I just enjoy joking about, but that comment was oddly popular)

That’s because they got David Production, a real animation studio (also known for JoJo), to do it.
Speaking of Idea Factory, they also own a potentially good franchise that was easily run to the ground with boring-to-bad spin-offs and reused assets to the point that you're just hoping that they make another IP, which they often do while their main franchise gets the bad spin-offs, and hope said new IP gets a sequel.
This is the kind of anime my roommate would tell me to watch and explain it as if it was a life changing experience.

The worst anime I've seen is still the censored version of Pupa for the tv-release. The episodes are only a couple minutes long, but half of each episode had to be hidden because of the gore. It was mind blowing how much they had to hide; I would recommend just looking at images of that disaster.

He scrolled down MAL and saw the horror tag on this anime and though '"maybe, this is the anime i long for". If you want to watch it, the video's name is "Gelmiş Geçmiş En Kötü Anime". Although it's in Turkish, there are some other anime references throughout the video so you may like it.
