You don't measure radius in degrees, it's inches.... :)
That orange is insane I love it you guys do really good work I might have you build me a guitar this year
i feel that giving a guitar with a kahler trem a floyd rose is kind of a sin, and the other way around, but when the result is this good its ok
I agree, Im sure the owner made that decision but yeah I would have kept the kahler too
Kahler FTW!
MARK! THIS AXE LOOKS GREAT! I'M JUST BUMMED THAT YOU DIDN'T THRASH-OUT A TUNE. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!! CHEERS!
Yeah seriously, WTF? Out of all the guitar the dude has worked on he's super proud of, why not give it a demo for the audience that watched him build it? Makes no sense.
That thing is SICK. If it were me though, I probably would've seen about black painted binding with orange side dots, just to break it up a little. Otherwise, I love it!
@@bc454irocz89 We shall see, he already painted the binding orange this time around so if it holds up, then maybe I'll have to try black painted binding and see if it works
Really like this arc of Trash To Thrash, like a thematic seasson
The Modern Flying V was totally killer
Amazing work. Love your videos. Very inspiring. Keep up the great work.
Way to go Alex, keeping it for that long and painting it ORANGE! My favorite color too. I want my Ibanez white Jem the same color!
Thank you man...that guitar got sold 5 times the fifth time it was bought by the first original buyer I sold it too. Then I bought it back for $25 it sat at my house for about 12 years until seven months ago I sent it to Mark, let me say words can't describe what he's done for my Arbor. That was my first professional electric guitar I love it man #80'sflyingV #80'sheavymetal #metalupyourass 😃
@@adeleon37 You two were meant to be together 😉👍. It's beautiful! I love the color.
Why would you change the finish it looked so much better
Wondering why you didn't route the top of the body so the Floyd could have full movement?
Awesome restoration! Just subbed your channel and have been binge watching! Too bad there wasn't a more "metal" looking Arbor logo available. Still badass nonetheless! 🤘
I'm not a fan of the neon orange neck/binding
My favorite guitar is the James Hetfield Rusty Rebuild. That was an killer build on this channel.
could you sand the binding a little instead of painting it?
I would say this one is the best trash to thrash rebuild.
The paint job and your attention to detail is exquisite.
Cheers.
It looks incredible! But one thing I would've done to it is to cut a small scoop out of the body to improve upper fret access. Like in the ESP Alexi models and the Ibanez PR1660. But that paint is amazing!
I have an old Ibanez SRX 355 that I barely play that I would love to get refinished and maybe turn it into a killer 5 string bass! Are we able to send something into you to add to this series? I would love to see you do a bass!
Yeah send me an email mark@guitarguts.com 🤘🏼🤘🏼
@@GuitarGuts Just did! Thanks for considering this \m/
I actually thing the Orange arbor you just build is the best so far. Looks super sharp, super clean and just really metal. Imagine pairing that orange beast with a cranked up Orange Amp! Sick dude keep it on!
I sent you a email about a Flying V, I don't want seem rude or disrespectful I just wanted to let you know.
You should have a response now
@@GuitarGuts yes just got responded.
The way the neck meets the body it would seem hard to reach the higher frets. Thats basically how Randy Rhoads's Jackson Concord was. This guitar was definitely based on that body-wise. Either way, sick job on this
Looks really great. Quick question. If you would want to top-mount a floyd rose to a strat style guitar (which already has the cutout on the back), do you need to do any specific modifications to the cavity?
Great job on the repair Great color love all the modifications but really The Binding you should not have painted over I'm sorry not sorry should have left the binding original
DUDE! PLEASE DO THIS EXACT THING TO MY 07 Jagmaster! I love offsets, but there are no HH Floyd lo pro SuperJags! This color but all black hardware
Big help . I'm going to check out an arbor tomorrow. I love project guitars... $100 might get me a real jem!
Wow Mark you did that guitar justice! Awesome!
my fav guitar is that green esp u bought in ep 1 or 2, if that doesn't count then the blackblood splatter jackson. anyways keep up the good work
alexs pirhana
before: maybe $150
after: pricless
My favorite guitar from trash to thrash is the alien blood jackson rhoads🤘🤘
She looks to kill yes I've owned a Blue Explorer Arbor back in 83
Hey dude I have an ML kit guitar that I just finished but I'm debating if I should have you do something to it even better than what I did
I would have liked to see you do the pin stripping (a subtle flat orange) like you did with the stealth Wolfgang guitar . But all in all, it looks great !!!
I've been looking for affordable flying v with a Floyd Rose.
I love the effort that you put in these videos man!!! Personally, I think that the best guitar you have built is the Alexi Laiho’s one ... it was a real piece of art !!!!!!!
Super 🔥HOT🔥!!! Excellent work 👍
My very first guitar was an arbor strat with a red and black crackle finish. It was set neck or neck thru with a floyd rose. I really wanted to see the back of that v with the clear plastic electronics cover.
Hey nan, you need to do a dime st Washburn replica of some sort !! With your own design of course!
LOVE IT. Sooooo good. Cheers mate from downunder.
I like Orange but that’s just way too much orange
the black side dots with the orange, made me crave candy corn lol
I would've put black hardware on it brother.
why not just replace the binding?
I really LOVE how you painted over the binding
A radius is a distance, not an angle. ex: That's a 10 inch radius, not degrees.
That’s an awesome looking guitar.
The Orange binding is so cool. Never too much orange on a guitar and never too many orange guitars🤘
Freakin' radical! Great job man!!
I was worried when this didn’t post yesterday!
I saw my Razorback!!! I can’t wait
looks amazing man! keep it up i love the content
Killer! Love that orange binding!
do you do bass stuff?
Yes, if you have one for me to do, email me mark@guitarguts.com and we’ll talk!
Did you make all the background music Mark? It sounds absolutely killer dude!
For most episodes, yes! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
"Thrash" He says with the Iron Maiden font
Iron age make custom pick guards?
wow awesome work, but the color is not my cup of tea
The repair is flawless… very tricky build but the owner is gonna love it!!
This IS just beautiful
Why would you not do 25.5 inch scale. If your loosening string tension especially at lower tuning.
The spacing of the frets is different for 25.5 and 24.75” scales. You have to measure from your nut to the 12 fret and that will give you half your scale length. So the guitar fret spacing is setup for 24.75”, and to change that would mean you’d have to install a new fretboard with 25.5” spacing.
That turned out badass
I wish I could work for you man
10° or 10” radius?
Wait it have a kahler?
WOW IT LOOKS GREAT
Awesome dude! Very nice job sir. That guitar is hot, and my fav color! Just stumbled onto your channel, been binging your vids. You have another subscriber.
Great job man.
incredible work man!!
I personally hated the end colour but, hey, customers choice, however the entire work was outstanding!!
Totally cool
Fabulous episode, if it were me I would have put the black pinstripes back on it. On Alex’s guitar that is. Then painted the binding black as well. I enjoy watching this channel. It reminds me of why mother enjoy’s watching her DIY house renovation shows every Saturday morning.
Great job
Very cool.
This Orange Arbor Overhaul is my favorite episode. Great job, I actually learned some cool ideas, Thanks!👍
"Was that an Orange LED kill switch on the Arbor??"
Sign me up, my Quilted Amber Wolfgang needs one!
So awesome!! But I think my Favorite one you have done so far is the Satin Black Kelly with the gloss splatter sections on the body!
Sorry, I’m a girl I don’t know how to explain all of it. LOL! But I play guitar and I really love to play! I would love to have a guitar like that.!
I've always loved the "Alien Blood" jackson V!!!🤘👍Mark,I'd love to know your thoughts on working with dipped swirl paint guitars???I really like how they look. But,I hear the particular dipping paint is expensive.Wonder if there's a way to recreate that look on the cheap?
Alex's build looks great, man. And Ryan did a great job with rounding the neck slot at the bottom.🤘👍Thanks for the great content,Mark!!!See ya next week my friend!
Cool vid.
I have owned a few Arbors in my time.
They seem like Hondo,JB Player and ARBOR were all made in the same factory.
All I can find is they used a ROC-BLOK or similiar Kahler knock off.
Man in the early 80's,ha!Sweet guitar and great job bringing it back!
Yooooooo. That guitar looks incredible!!!! Great job guys!!!!
Your videos are just all sorts of awesome. I would absolutely love to get with you about making a clone of Jeff Hanneman's Jackson Soloist Punk Rock guitar.
Talking about bringing a guitar back from the dead! Amazing job, best so far.
The way you installed the Floyd, was exactly the way I did on my Flying V. Only difference, I did mine with hand tools (no router and templates, just chisels and drills)
inch*
Once again you have out done yourself. Amazing guitar and love all the technical info. I now know Floyd rose bridges are set up at 10 degrees. Awesome episode mark. Keep doing what you do. Rock on.
Great job on this guitar! It truly was a p.o.s. coming in, and I wasn't so sure about the color, could've come out looking like a traffic cone, but it totally rocks!
I thought a laser would be really helpful for marking exactly for the floyd rose placement etc
Looks awesome🤘
Great Custom Job!...A nice blend of Vintage and Modern.
🔥🔥🔥 my favorite so far is the crackle. Keep up the hard work. Love watching the trash to thrash series 🤘🏼
wow mark that V looks awesome,i like it better than the green one, just needs hot rod flames 🔥 lol just kidding that’s the 80’s part of me coming out
It looks sweet dude. Keep up the good work you're doing great and I can tell you are improving and learning with each guitar
This is one sick guitar. It looks awesome!
On average how many cans of paint do you use on a guitar?
You do great work, so fun to watch, keep it up! that guitar turned out fkn killer, love the orange!
Man, I have a couple of old guitars that would be perfect for this series 😂
Hey I'm just wondering, can you do pinstriping on guitars?
Incredible job, man I wish I could get a hold of some concord templates
You impress me with every episode! Cant say that enough!
I use to have one of these that were Red
This one matches your outfit better 👍🏼👍🏼
surprised you didn't go with luminlay dots.
I would have to say the star trek guitar Area 51? has been my favorite so far.
Great work, Mark and Ryan! Fun episode.
Nice work man!!! Killer result 🤘😈🤘
Looks amazing and definitely eye popping.
🎉🎉🎉
my guitar teacher has that same gibson les paul studio
