Want me to paint your guitar or mod it for you? I’d be more than happy to! I do very affordable custom builds as well. Email me mark@guitarguts.com let’s talk about your dream guitar.
I like this guy!
He looks like he should play for Mastodon, or something. 😁
That purple blue burst looks unreal. Great job.
I don't know what's more dope - This vid? The channel ? Or the killer guitars on display here ? Man - ANYTHING Van Halen or EVH is awesome! I just can't get enough of this stuff. Never will. I am still hurting that he isn't with us anymore - like a lot of you guys. But yes - we celebrate everything EVH with the music, and the cool gear. I have a few projects going myself. So much fun.
Both guitars look amazing 🤘
Dude, that purple-blue paint job is AMAZING! And with a spray can? WOW. Nice work man.
That Stealth is so sick... That is a dream for me right there
Whoever owns those Wolfgangs is a very lucky person
OMG, that looks amazeballs!
Awsome job my brother! I agree about painting the head stock to match. Thanks for sharing the love my brother 🙏
Hey Mark,
I'm re-watching this episode because I love the guitar you built but of course all the guitars you modify are awesome this one in particular is just one of my favorites, and I know the one you're modifying for me is gonna be absolutely insane, and I really can't thank you enough for that I immensely appreciate it stay safe stay happy stay awesome keep doing what you love to do and of course rock on my friend!!!
Nice thanks 4 everything I saw today by watching Your channel 4 the 1st time!🙏
I live in post Soviet repubic Latvija. I've been playing 4 36 years Gibson LP Custom. Over the years I've had & still have some great ones but I've never before had a guitar with whammy bar. Since my hero EVH has gone I was thinking of buying one of his models. I decided to go with Wolfgang Standard Xotic Ziricote MN just to check out how is it : playing, using a guitar w FR . The 1st thing I did I've put killswitch & isolated tone pot left inside the cavity. Long to be short today I got the all answers I wasn't sure about! I'm so excited to keep rebuilding this one & then after I'll study Your UA-cam channel I can't wait to put my hands on it! One more thing I replaced is titanium tremolo bridge saddles.
P.S. I haven't been able to check out one of EVH instruments 'cause noone in the whole country doesn't have one🤣!
You did an amazing job on that guitar unbelievable.
Factory Finish! Awesome work!
I've been blitzing all your videos and that is definitely your best gloss finish so far... That is amazing!
I have been wanting a wolfgang style guitar but now I think I am gonna have to commission one of yours if I go that route because these guitars just look so good!
This channel is awesome! I am new at refinishing, soldering, modding... everything! haha. Except playing and this place is PERFECT!
I love the way the blue fades into purple. It's like there's a spotlight on the guitar.
Brother they are sick, so proud of you and your persistence. Your hard work is definitely paying off. What an amazing job. And you know what? You're only going to get better.
Hey Mark, your paint and clear skills are getting better every video! Awesome guitars!
Beautiful work man and my playing would not do any of these justice! Rock On Ed!
Mark, That Shine is Mirror perfect on the blue and purple EVH! Great Job on both sir! Not surprised they sold so fast. Truly Amazing. I gotta get my hands on 1 of those Lungren pickups Soon. Been using Meguiar's ultimate compound to finish my paint jobs lately on the last 2 i did. Thank you for the tips on the sanding technique. Very Helpful! I used to sit for hours watching rock concerts buffing my guitar bodies until i was satisfied with the shine. Probably 3 sessions of 1.5 hours. Now i work it out with light water and paper towels until nice and even, then finish it with the Meguiar's. Thank you - Rock on my Friend!
These paint jobs look amazing! Great video.
Those guitars a UNREAL!!! Wonderful job!
wow i have been watching these kind of videos for about 5 years now and i have to say your builds are really clean and spot on . some people will put way to many strips or will over relic some. but yours is just the right amount they have class and trash lol as soon as i can i know the next patreon i will be getting.well worth the 10 dollars a month thanks for putting the time and letting all of us enjoy watching your videos
This series rules. You legitimately inspired me to start doing a couple projects myself. Got 3 I'm working on right now and it's all I think about. Thanks for keeping this goin.
You’re work always amazes me! Great job as always Mark! Great playing as well!
Beautiful work... just love what you do and have been watching your channel for a very long time. Well done and thanks for all your hard work and knowledge you impart.... cheers mate.
This is awesome. These videos have got me into redoing some of my guitars. Thanks again
Great build Mark. That gloss is sick. Sounds great too.
Special thanks to EVH, who ultimately made this video happen.
RIP Maestro
That stealth Wolfgang is 🔥🔥🔥
love your work. all. your paint jobs are amazing
Great job! That is really beautiful! Well done
dude!!! this was an awesome video! youre sanding description was very helpful, I'm employing the same techniques you mentioned and its a big help!
That is the finest paint job I've seen you do yet. Great work!
Lunar Wolfgang is easily my new favourite paint job! this series has been really inspiring, and I've been thinking of repainting my Strat with EVH black/white and blue splatter recently! Thanks so much for the awesome content stream man!
looks amazing man! keep it up i love the videos
Damn that paint came out great. Love that stealth too
Your painting skills are stellar !!!!! I would've NEVER guessed that was possible from a can. Awesome. That clear is AMAZING !!!!!!
Mark… those turned out AMAZING! The shine on the purple burst was like looking at a mirror. Your work keeps getting better and better… I can honestly say how honored I am to have actually won a Mark Murray one off!!
Love the purple and blue burst.
Greetings from Ohio, where I saw my first ever concert of the original Van Halen at the Cincinnait Colessium on the Black Sheep World Tour. I just discoverd and subscribed. Nice Mods. Rock on Mark! >---~
You really knocked it out of the park with the wolfgangs. Great job.
Those are killer finishes, man! The stealth one hooked me up to the point that I want to refinish my superstrat project guitar, very fun build.
Wow! Look at that deep shine is rt!
Nice seeing you have a page your selling on...congrats on your progress! Really like the Stealth
Dam brother, looks great! Subscribed.
The blue and purple looks sick 🤘🏼
Nice, that sold reverb listing for that old Peavey Wolfgang poster sold for...wait for it...$51.50. What a hell of a tip-of-the-hat.
Awesome paintjob you did there!
I may be a broke college student but, watching you make these makes me want to commission you for a custom frankenstrat or wolfgang sometime in the future. You do some fantastic work!
Both of these are frickin amazing looking guitars . 🤘
The purple Frankenstrat @ 0:10 is my favorite, such a beauty after the black stealth.I'm with you on the Emerald Green Peavey no green quilt comes close to this masterpiece. Thanks for sharing your creativity
This guy is awesome keep up the good work
Great stuff man/subbed!
Thanks!
Beautiful job 👍
Wow I do want that blue stealth Wolfgang guitar, so sick...
Try using two part high build polyester urethane, using a spray gun, lay a base color coat wet sand, then clear your paint clear coat, use an orbital to knock down the high spots using 600 grit, lay down a last high gloss top coat clear with a bit higher pressure to eliminate orange peel, then wet sand with 1500 grit, and polish on a mandrel buffer big wheel using your rouge. It will come out absolutely PRS quality. You can buy the high visibility gloss, and matte finish for the clears.
Stealth is so badass
Perfection, absolutely genius Level ,man I'm so glad you're channel popped up. LONG LIVE EDWARD VAN HALEN... Keep kick'n ass brother!!!!
that looks incredible 🤘🤘
i sometimes build guitars. one time i put. 4 cans of clear on the damn things. was only cause i was wasting time, It was a school project. I took it home and sanded then painted it blue. didn't bother to clear coat after, that thing is fine. i'm not very process oriented. love your shit, it's inspiring as hell.
Sick videos my dude 👊
Love the purple and blue one but I think having the backside in a deep blue would make it look even better.
I know this comes down to personal preference.
The front looks sick though.
Amazing job!
Amazing job
That was so good... You got me thinking about the purple and blue hmmmm
Cool concept for UA-cam series!
The first really solid and expensive guitar I bought was in 1999, a Peavey Wolfgang Special in Gold. It was out of price range but the sale guy at the guitar shop knew I wanted one so bad he sold it to me for $850. I still have, my number one and will never part with it. Cheers!
Watching this makes me wish I had a shed or garage to do this.
Don't let it stop you. Been modding and painting guitars for years - on the back patio. Painting does depend on the weather, but it is not impossible / really not that difficult in Texas. Somewhere up north like New York State, might give you 5 to 6 months a year you can paint. Don't let it stop you!
Kick ass work dude
Never seen someone do a burst with a spray can. I guess anything is possible once you put your mind to it. And very helpful tips. Gave you a sub!
these guitars are amazing i wish i could afford one
Amazing job. Would've loved to have purchased that stealth.
Grammar n@zi alert!!
would've*
@@BaldPerspective Haha...Thanks for looking out.
@@thorpenator9148 I can't help myself lol, but thanks for being cool about it.
@@BaldPerspective We always need to keep improving...and learning. And you helped me improve.
@@thorpenator9148 Hell yeah man. I do what I can & actually like conversing with people on UA-cam; it's social media, so I try to be social.
That matte look at 10 mins woulda been sick too
I would love one of these.....awesome
Stunning 🥰
This series is fucking incredible!
brilliant
Bad ass dude!!! 👏
Amazing work bro. Expect your order book to go through the roof!
Btw, did you check out Phil X rendition to the Frankenstrat, but made from a Gibson SG? Absolutely stellar!
Killer Dude!
That's sick!
Badass guitars!
Dude, great video. I'm not painting my builds. At least not yet. But when I do I will reference this video. I'm also looking forward to your soldering video. I could use a few tips on soldering. I'll be keeping an eye out. Hope you're doing well : )
Hey Mark,
I just wanted to say that was an awesome episode Eddie was an awesome guitarist and always will be he’s one of my main influences that’s for sure, it’s difficult to choose which guitar I like best, so I’m just gonna say I like both 😁 Although I might have to give a slight edge to the purple and blue one Just because purple is one of my favorite colors And I thought the purple and blue together was pretty cool But I thought both of the guitars were great, and I think Eddie would be proud I also think it’s cool that Eddie started working with music man the same year I was born I just thought that was pretty cool I know I already said that, but it bears repeating,💚 I don’t have a Wolfgang a music man or a Frankenstrat and like any fan I wish I did especially the green one you mentioned because green is also one of my favorite colors, but I'm honored to know that I'm soon to have a guitar guts modified guitar. Cheers brother much love and respect my friend I know I say this a lot, but I really do appreciate everything you’re doing for me and I can’t thank you enough stay safe and stay awesome!!!
I'm inspired to attempt the matte stripes on an only black and gold mockingbird.
I don't think I could drastically mod my '02 Wolfgang. It's a Amber quilt, unless you want to put frankenstrat stripes on it, two tone orange would be cool!.
Great tips, 👍 thanks!
Maddness. I love it.
Good Job 👍
That's fkn beautiful
That Stealth would be my dream guitar
That guitar is just perfect, just a question: have you ever thought of building a Hondo Chiquita?
GREAT VIDEO! Interesting that you don´t pour money into NEW hardward & pickups! I have the LTD GoldTop Std.
I also upgraded to a FAT FR Block + springs from a USA strat. I smoothed out the Trem arm socket with some 1000grit & plumbers tape. I tried a GOTOH Trem-arm but it sat too high for my liking. I also swapped the switch & pots for CTS & Rewired mine for Two Volume controls like Eddie did on his personal stage Peavey - using schematic from JOHN5 Tele... Cheers from MADRID;
Pause @ 3:41 and figure out how to do the reflective tree branches shadow effect in a gloss black. That would look awesome.
They both look gorgeous
Good golly miss Molly them are some beautiful trash to thrash pieces
This guitar must release by evh ! Its awesome
Personally my dream is wolfgang routed like frankenstein. Wood screw floyd studs and what else?
But i never got rid off the tape residue due to a screw-up on my first try.
When you wait a week between clear coats and sand with 600, do you buff and polish at all, or just wipe it down and start with the 2nd can of clear? Won't the dulled finish after sanding show through the next round of clear? Thanks, great work!
I'm just getting ahead of myself, but have you ever thought about doing a Shark-colored or Rasta Wolfgang?
Keep up the stellar work!
