NEW EPISODES each Thursday (once in a while on a Friday) - Share this video if you want more episodes!
Want me to paint your guitar or mod it for you? I’d be more than happy to! I do very affordable custom builds as well. Email me mark@guitarguts.com let’s talk about your dream guitar.
What would your custom Frankenstrat look like?
I would want a guitar like eddies unchained/circles guitar, but I would put in the circuit from a wah pedal and extend the wires going to the pot, so I would be able to get cool cocked wah sounds.
Probably black and white with the blood splatter effect. I think that would be cool.
@@luvsic35 That would be amazing.
The classic frankenstrat design, but on a jackson rhoads
ESP Super Strat with black white and gray stripes and a reversed headstock.
GuitarGuts working with a client
Guy: So I only have 150 dollars for upgrades
GuitarGuts: don’t you mean 120?
Guy: What do you mean
GuitarGuts: BECAUSE IRON AGE KILLSWITCHES COST 30 DOLLARS
😂🤣😂🤣😂
How dare you! You can never have to many guitars! I have 39 at the moment and plan to have more. Remember, guitars are people to.
You need a show on A&E or something like that. I love this!!!
Why do these videos not have more views!?!? This is fricking awesome!!
Thank you man, help the show out by posting it on your social media, it helps out a ton!
I haven't felt this interested in a program or series since Sons of Anarchy lol
Haha thank you man! Make sure to subscribe and hit the notification bell, and share it on your social media, the more views these get the more I’m eventually going to make! 👍🏼🤘🏼
Man I am always so stoked for a new episode, I love this series!
Thanks so much Jaime!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Damn bro ur guitars look sick.
If Eddie was here he would definitely be proud.
If I wanted a frankenstrat I would have it to be black with red stripes
Thanks Daniel! That would be cool!
Does anyone know how I can contact him, I want him to re finish my strat
Email me Mark@guitarguts.com
that stealth strat is a fucking beauty to look at
Thank you so much! It came out even better than I was hoping.
It’d be cool if he painted a rickenbacker bass to look like Paul McCartneys rickenbacker bass from the sgt peppers album
why isn't this show on TLC or discovery Ch lol. Thank you for the amazing content! You have a great gift bro!
How can I paint words on the back of the guitar neck like dimebag?
Hey I am getting into fixing up guitars and I was wondering where you get your parts from?
That black and white one I would call it zebra frankenstrat
Careful with copyrights might get sued
It would have been more awesome if you had put a tremolo on the Frankenbass as Kahler does make tremolos for basses.
Lemmy look out the frankenbass!
Man i miss Eddie van halen concerts hes the goat
How much do you charge for a paint job?
Were sid you get the fuzz circuit for that bass
looks amazing man! keep it up i love the content
Should’ve put a kahler on the bass
Bro I'm going to turn a Ltd KH 602 into a KH4. I'm just adding a white pickguard. I have a dumb question. Do I need to drill hole for the pickguard screws or just screw them in. I've been playing since the mid 90s too bro. Kirk Dime and Eddie bro and Zak are my favorites.
Definitely drill pilot holes!
You do great work and this is a great series but don’t you buff your paint jobs? I can see so much orange peel all over every single refinish.
I do on my high gloss paint jobs, if you see my Rhoads Episode, but not on my flat paint jobs or on EVH style paint jobs. He didn’t do it so I don’t do it 👍🏼
Great Episode!
Im so exited!!!!!!
It’s gonna be a fun one!
Great episode!
where are you located? I have a guitar that could use some work. It is hand built (by me) based on the Ibanez Destroyer with subtle differences to make it more comfortable to play.
Southern California, email me, let’s talk about it, mark@guitarguts.com
@@GuitarGuts @14:57 the black over blue may be up my alley. It currently is electric metallic blue. However it is a several layer with clear coat paint job so, maybe not unless it could be wet sanded relatively flat with stripes applied. The paint job was 200.00 just in materials. I will hit you up via e-mail with some pictures some time this week.
Excellent Mark, great to see my Vitas on there and the others look awesome 👏
That’s Jamie, it’s a beauty!!! I love everything about it.
Just bought myself a new Ibanez. So, I have decided I am going to customize my knockoff les paul in the frankenstrat paint style. Your series really has give me the confidence to actually consider customizing my own. Thanks man, this series is awesome!
Did you go to school for this or just learning as you go?
I’ve been working on guitars since I was around 13 years old, so over 20 years, so I just picked it up as I went.
Do you do any other styles? I would love to get my white universe to replicate the Ibanez from the video For the love of GOD.
Your talented man!!, but I got to ask what about the wet sanding, clear, and buffing?
Man I want u to up grade my Dean guitar
I’d love to!! Email me Mark@guitarguts.com 🤘🏼🤘🏼
I enjoyed subscribed.
Thank you!!
Awesome vid man! Any tips for an aspiring modder?
keep doing these bro
I will, I love doing them, as long as people keep buying my guitars and sending me theirs for upgrades, I’ll keep making these 🤘🏼🤘🏼
One day I gotta hit you up and maybe get an Alexi Laiho Tribute Jackson Rhoads built. Love the show btw, lots of useful information and sick axes!
Thanks so much Marcel! I’d LOVE to do an Alexi!!!
Awesome video! On the Frankenstrat where you installed the mounting bracket and foam, did you have to put in shielding (copper or spray) on the bottom of the pickup cavities?
No, it had active pickups, so they are internally grounded, so it shouldn’t need it IMO
love your stuff bro. kick ass. i subbed.
Have you ever considered doing a few basses?
Edit: just watched the video and saw the frankenbass lol. That thing is sick!
Yeah I’d do more basses if people send them in 😁🤘🏼
Where do you get your Direct Pickup Mounting Bracket?
I make them 🤘🏼👍🏼
@@GuitarGuts what! that's awesome!
Thanks!
@@GuitarGuts first aftermarket parts by GG!!??
yo man i love these haha
4:25, where did you get those brackets from?
I make them.
working on a Frankenstrat project myself, how should I attach the pickups to the body?
The easiest way is to cut small pieces of wood that fit under the pickup to make it sit flat if it has screws coming out the bottom. Then you can use small screws or even nails to hold it in place.
about how thick should this “spacer” be?
Where can I buy the brackets to mount the pickups to the body? And please chill with the kill switches.
People should stop vandalizing guitars in their attempts to mimic Eddie and concentrate on the actual playing and becoming a better musicians. And sorry to say but despite being innovative Eddie wasn't a great composer compared to for example Hendrix, Page, Blackmore, Iommi, Moore, Gilmour who wrote plenty of good music and memorable solos. For Van Halen I can only mention their first album as having great and memorable tracks and I'll wait from 1984 album, the rest of their music was pretty weak despite the commercial success.
Wahhh wahhh, let people live you old bag.
