Don't be afraid to go "Nerd mode" with Sabaton reactions, most of us that listen to the band, love history so if we get some new information even it is just a detail, I'll consider that a bonus.

The story of the attack of the dead men was amazing. I think thats awesome that the Russians were so hell bent on keeping the Germans out that they fought tooth and nail to stay alive long enough to slaughter the Germans. The Russians are en entirely different breed

The album The Great War! Going down the rabbit hole of this band! They have got a lot of songs. On the album Carolus Rex, the band were helped by the historian Bengt Liljegren who wrote the biography of Charles XII. Keep up the good times with this band. Greetings from North of the border.

When I hear this song, it speaks to my very soul. No matter how bad things have gotten for me, no matter how many people have died in my life, I listen and I feel the spirit of the soldier in the song. And when it feels hopeless, I look around and I am encouraged. Especially that one part: we face the heat, as we are fighting until the dawn, *so follow me, AND WE WILL WRITE OUR OWN HISTORY!!!*
Then, I fear nothing, because this is our time, and we have a duty.

Hello History Buff (perhaps you've said your name at some point and I didn't catch it)
I've seen all your Sabaton reactions in your playlist until this point and I gotta say, I really like them! I love that you're adding new information to many videos that wasn't even in the Sabaton History videos - although it's totally understandable since History is massive and I assume that the Sabaton History Channel had to cut loads of information and only keep the most important and on-topic things to keep the video to a reasonable time. I also really like that you try and pay attention to all the details - Music, Lyrics, History, Video. It also puts a smile on my face to see someone like music that I like as well, but I guess that's the case for most people.
Seeing you react to one of the newest songs with Great War, I gotta say, in my opinion, Sabaton only got better with time. To put in U.S. school grades, their first album was a B, second a B+ and it's only been As with more and more plusses since then (again, in my opinion).
I also have some (quite a few, actually) songs that I would love to see your reaction to at some point, and that don't get nearly enough attention from History Reactors in my opinion. To go chronologically per album:
    Purple Heart from Primo Victoria
Light in the Black from Attero Dominatus
Cliffs of Gallipoli from The Art of War
Wehrmacht, Saboteurs, and White Death from Coat of Arms
~unfortunately, you already listened to the entire Carolus Rex Album~ ;)
Smoking Snakes, Inmate 4859, Resist and Bite, and Far From the Fame from Heroes
The Last Stand and The Last Battle from The Last Stand
Seven Pillars of Wisdom and The End of the War to End all Wars from The Great War
I hope to see many more great reactions and I wish that more and more people will find your channel! :)
    Greetings from Germany
    Alexander

Wow! Thank you for such amazing feedback! Sabaton has pretty much become my signature band so yea, they're not going anywhere anytime soon. Also, its really funny you say that because I was totally planning on talking about how much they have evolved musically on this last album. Before "the great war", I've never really appreciated them for their musical chops, both writing and execution. Probably because of the other bands I binge on like Nightwish, unleash the archers, lovebites, etc. Are just from another planet. Comparatively, sabaton just always sounded "average". Of course I appreciate them more for their amazing content. The great war was a game changer though! The writing, the drumming, the guitar solo, everything was top notch!

the christmas peace, they had to redeploy more or less everyone from that front because suddenly it was not an unknown enemy they faced, but a friend, someone they had played soccer with, shared candy and a drink with the night before. If I remember correctly, the high command was furious over this.

My grandpa told me that the generality were not amused, that on all sides. But the soldiers did know my "enemy" is like me and feels what I feel. He fought in 2 world wars and the Spanish Civilwar, died at the age of 96 and told me a lot of stories.

@@dragodx8238 thank you, I take this in his name.By the way, the American Red Cross saved literally his life in 1918 (internment camp Paris, soccer stadium, he was still a 19 year old) and brought him to Cuba where he recovered (1,93m, 51kg weight, several injuries/wounds). He would have been died, as many others, after the war was long been over. After that, he took a side and fought for what´s right. He´s my "little hero" and I took a lot from what he told me with me. Not all Germans were assholes or Nazis, but history is always written by the winners.

About this. "A war that will put an end to all wars." I have heard that people of that time considered the machine gun to be an "ultimate weapon". They believed that no one would force their soldiers to attack the trenches with machine guns. This is a bit alarming, given the comparison of a machine gun with an atomic bomb.
