========= The Red Baron LYRICS =========
Man and machine and nothing there in between
A flying circus and a man from Prussia
The sky and a plane, this man commands his domain
The western front and all the way to Russia
Death from above, you’re under fire
Stained red as blood, he’s roaming higher
Born a soldier from the horseback to the skies
That’s where the legend will arise
And he’s flying
Higher, the king of the sky
He’s flying too fast and he’s flying too high
Higher, an eye for an eye
The legend will never die
First to the scene he is a lethal machine
It’s bloody April and the tide is turning
Fire at will it is the thrill of the kill
Four in a day shot down with engines burning
Embrace the fame, red squadron leader
Call out his name Rote Kampfflieger
In the game to win, a gambler rolls the dice
80 allies paid the price
Higher!
Higher, the king of the sky
He’s flying too fast and he’s flying too high
He’s flying higher, an eye for an eye
The legend will never die
Higher!
Born a soldier, from the horseback to the skies
And the legend never dies
And he’s flying
And he’s flying
And he’s flying
========= Historic Fact ==========
A great symbol of WWI, Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen, known the world over as the ‘Red Baron’, was a fighter pilot for the German Air Service. Considered the deadliest flying ace, he had 80 confirmed allied kills to his name. He was known as the ‘Red Baron’ because of his distinctive red plane.

Historic fact: it was an habit to reward the pilots with a silver medal for each enemy killed. Manfred Von Richtofen took down 80 enemies but only received 60 medals because german silver supplies were declining and he wouldn't accept bronze medals.

Facts
Are you on PC? if you right click and select the option "Loop" it doesn't have to end...
In the days of the Red Baron, a pilot's skill was measured in the number of enemy planes he could shoot down without taking any hits. Today, a pilot's skill is measured by how far they can push the limits of human flight without anyone getting hurt. Even so, when space travel becomes common and pilots take to new heights, I hope none of them forget the skills of the Red Baron and try to vie for the title of "Ace of Aces" among the stars.

Kinda funny that the Japanese never improved their technology through out the war. Before we launched the Pacific Campaign, the Germans already had jets and we had improved our aircraft to for surpass the Zeros that attacked Pearl Harbor, but the Japanese never changed... kinda says something about traditional Japanese culture, it’s very stagnated.

@CipiRipi00 Chivalry was something you could afford back then because you could use superior skill, parry attacks or use armor and shield against slower and less penetrating incoming missile fire. germany almost won the first world war but they'd made several critical errors in the early days of the first world war they had advanced faster than their supply lines could keep up and when the ammo the soldiers were carrying ran out they had to fall back giving up every mile they'd just taken, also didn't help that while germany was fighting england, france, russia, the us, and italy. their ally the Austrian-hungarian empire was focused on exterminating the Serbians and bosnians all because a handful of people pulled off the murder of their archduke. history now knows that picking bad allies, and making poor early choices in a war ultimately causes the group waging said war to lose.

*A B S O L U T E L Y B E A U T I F U L !*
the ultimate dad war joke
Honestly, the fact that the Red Baron was just like "My plane's red, I've lost the element of suprise- *But haven't lost the advantage"* and then just fucking flew infront of the sun to blind his enemies whilst he fucking destroyed them is the most chad fucking move-
He just got the skill to make it work, like a boss
In fairness, flying out of the sun was basic fighter tactics at the time. At least by the time Manfred was on his streak.
@@fpurple6503 oh shit, we apologize on his behalf
imagine in modern day, some soldier wear a pink camo, 'I want to make them scared'
His plane didn't need fuel; it was powered by his insane levels of Big D*** Energy.
Wish this king of the sky was on our side. Some damn good skill. Mad respect. And rest in peace to those who were shot down.
As a metalhead and history teacher, Sabaton's music keeps growing on me. A brilliant way to convey and remember historical events and figures, and very metal🤘
My kids love your music and are now rocking to this as well 🤘
Man I would love to be one of your students
When you realize that Sabaton will eventually make a song about themselves because they made history: Stonks
So they gonna start a world war?
@@casualschmurr I'll start one if we get another album like The Great War out of it
Only if they are drafted.
@@casualschmurr Not a German Band, so I dont think so

IT WAS THE AUSTRIANS!
Last time i was this early Manfred von Richthofen was still on horseback
HolyPastrami Now here’s a man that knows his history.
😂, this made my day
Underrated
I am surprised nobody talks about that much haha but ty for the beautiful comment sir
@@SafetyBriefer To be fair, its in the song.
The Bismarck and The Red Baron are definetly the two best songs ive ever heard in my life. Yall got me into history with this 😂
does anyone noticed yet how well they pronounce words in foreign languages? I´m german born in kasachstan and i am impressed how clear he pronounced "rote Kampfflieger" here. Also in their cover of Radio Tapok´s song "defence of moscow" they effortlessly fall in a russian accent. hat´s off to the little details, they didn´t went unnoticed
'he's flying too fast and he's flying too high'
this guy literally invented boom and zoom
edit: he probably did not invent boom and zoom. was a master of it tho
as in the dogfighting tactic?
@@Casandraelf yes
@@Abi-fo7gh that's wild, man
But yet an early age For a boom and Zoom tactic In The great War don`t you think?
@@I_germinator_6969 ohhh yeah. and if he did invent the boom and zoom, that's awesome
WARNING: Any recording of Sabaton music played in a car will make you go over the speed limit at the cost of never being able to slow down. It just goes HIGHER.
I read this comment before it even existed.
Just relax and be THE KING OF THE SKY
Actually on a more serious note, listening to Sabaton while driving isn’t a good idea. Actually, that hype you get from the kickass music may lead you to a car crash because you can’t help but vibe harder and harder. Unless you can control yourself, but with bangers like this, I doubt it
Haha very funny
I hovered 100 meters while going to Alamo Sera on GTA V, my phone had started Primo Victoria
That's where the legend will arise
And he's flying, HIGHER!
Каждый раз, после песен сабатона, по спине пробегает приятная дрожь. Спасибо за такие шедевры, не знаю как жила раньше, без ваших прелестных песен
uhhh het
@@GargoyleHunter dat
This band makes historical figures cool, without it sounding like propaganda
They seem to tell the stories of the "little guys": the soldiers, not the nations they served. Like this song: it's not really about the war, or the nations in said war, it's about a legendary fighter pilot who was in said war. As a side note: Sabaton is the best history teacher I've ever had.
Yet here they do fall into propaganda trap. Historians who worked on Manfred von Richthofen story already know and told that he was far from the "honourable flying knight" people believe.
@@spoupoutvandertur407 Read the lyrics. They didn't say anything inaccurate here. In fact, they say remarkably little.
It's hard to make a cool person cooler
Because they’re celebrating people, not necessarily nations.
For those wondering, the intro is: Bach's Little fugue in G minor
I thought it sounded familiar.
Just played the little fugue at a concert with the boys and I was stunned to hear it here lol
Yep, the same that was on Rumpelstiltskin's Party :>
thanks, king!
