I loved your informative video on germinating seeds and the progress over 3-4 months as they grew into small plants. And now this super update. Good on ya! Thanks for doing this, and continued success to you!
Hi Greg wondering how often you water the Mimetes in this heat -and when ( early morning or late evening ?? I have one in a 5 gal pot that has been in watsonville until now in Danville and don’t want it to get shocked !! thanks for any help!!
when over 100 degrees I water daily - 90-100 I water every other day - I water in the morning or evening - I haven't found that it matters - if you have good drainage it is hard to over water these plants - they need water since they are in pots and are depending on us...
@@growproteas1148 thanks ! i was just worried as some of the branches were getting brown leaves and if i water at night it might get that fungus ? but you never had that problem ? and are yours all in a drip
@@josephmoore5447 I have in pots and ground... pots I water morning or evening. No fungus. In the ground I water in the mornings drip system. Mimetes do lose their leaves.. turn brown and fall off... it's normal.
My dad's from a small town in the South coast of South Africa. Kleinmond. My grandma use to have Mimetes in the mountains. She lives right on the mountain side. Part of the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve. She told me when I was in early twenties that they love ash... so when she had one in her garden and she'd trim it, she'd burn the branches and leave the burned stuff right under the plant.
I am in California and would looove to take some cuttings of this, been hunting for awhile and it’s impossible to find. Let me know if you’d be open to it!
I follow him two or three weekago,( Ad Hortus )but I dont cut my branches at the top like he does, only down and a few leaves out and mine grow too....
