People don’t realize how heavy the drums are in this song. Everyone goes nuts over Alex Terrible, but the drums are underrated as hell.

I have to disagree, while his playing is always top notch, his facial expressions and body language suggest that this song was a beast of a cover to nail. Just watch it again and you'll agree with me, because he looks almost winded from that, rightly so. 🤘

5:08 due to the fact that the blastbit is played alternately with the left and right hand, the line is lost. Novikov plays with one hand. The blastbeat line is clearer. Watch PlayThrough by Evgeny Novikov.

@@KirK_Chak_Y the blastbeat isn’t clearer, samus is hitting twice as hard than navikov (not saying navikov isn’t awesome) but alternating blast are really good for power. And don’t say the audio are as loud, navikov playthrough is so edited and triggered that it’s not a good mesure.

With so much of the emphasis placed on this song being about the vocal delivery, it's easy to forget that there are some pretty gnarly drum parts throughout the song. As usual, you make it look easy. Great work.

@@kevinblum4454 He uses triggers, yes but don't go blindly believe triggers are cheating. Look them up on YT and you'll see what they ACTUALLY are
@@MaliceOfRites I have looked them up on you tube. My question is dose he use them on his kick drum to make his dubble kicks sound he is faster than he really is or is his feet that fast? Or is that him using triggers? I was told years and years ago that what triggers is. But when I did my research I found out that they use triggers for sound. I'm not a drummer at all but I hope your are or know about them to shed some light on his kick drum for me.
@@kevinblum4454 they don't really make you faster. all they do is make it not sound like muddled shit at higher BPMs. evgeny has perfect heel toe technique anyway so he really is that fast.

The Derrrk blasts sounded way cooler than the straight blasts in the original song!
Blasts in original kare also gravity blasts. Samus however makes it even more sick cause he changes hands

God, I love how the breakdown contrasts with the rest of the song. Everything is so fast and technical, then boom, you're hit with a simple breakdown that just crushes you

I love the relaxed playing, it all just seems so easy. What bugs me a bit, is realizing that the sound is (almost?) completely from the record, as for instance after 5:34 the cymbals are completely silent or not the same as the audio.
