So they got rid of one of the most talented members of the band and best drummers in the world. If anyone were surplus to requirements in the band most likely Clown or Mike. Funnily enough it was probably clown that got rid of Jay.
Jay wasn't just a replacement, he brought a new spark to the band, his energy, his drum skills, it was a whole new thing (at the lack of a better word I will just say thing) and exactly what Slipknot needed.

I agree, when .5 came out I remember thinking how much a solid unit they sounded, he just fit the sound perfectly and instantly I was all in as a fan of slipknot in knowing jay is the perfect drummer for them!

This is your best live drum cam sound ever! We can hear all the other instruments clear, which is really cool, but the drums still stand out perfectly. Keep it up, man! ❤

Eloy and countless others crush Jay and he'd happily admit this. Just as El Estapario who I hold in my top 3 rates Jay, but puts many others above himself.
I'm thankful I got to see Jay live in March at Melbourne Knotfest, I can rest easy knowing I got to see that legend live in the flesh- his precision, poise and creativity elevated The Knot more than anybody could ever hope to achieve. It's bittersweet, they booted both drummers who both ended u being generational talents for the same band- but I know Jay will be an upgrade for literally all bands he decides to play on with, he's still young in his music career and I have nothing but love for him, he got me started in drumming.
My wife and was able to see Slipknot last year in Charlotte. And when i say Jay hits that kit, YOU KNOW IT! I just dont how anyone is going to be able to sit behind the kit and bring it like Jay did for 10 year's! To See, hear, Jay live is something in it self you have to experience live!
