I have this van with a tall roof. Bought it used (2012 model)with 121k miles for $14k in 2017. Used it to make side money. Paid it off in a year. I only put 10k miles in 3 years. It earned its money easily and still making money. I would buy this van brand new in a heartbeat if I had the money.
this would make a fine camper conversion. for rugged use, the foundation looks like the Nissan Titan chassis. 4WD skid plates for gas and engine/tranny might fit. with a posi/locker, decent tires and shocks, and possibly disconnect the rear sway bar for some off road articulation. still retaining a decent tow rating. i'm talking a 70's hippy camper with bed in back, small potable tank, and a sink to pee in when it's raining.
I like this van, it isn't the prettiest but the scareness of it makes it so much more usable then the others, you can mount shelves on the side walls very easily, and the rear doors are not tapered in at the Top like the Ford and Chevy so you can get huge pallets into the back of this thing, the Chrome up front helps to dress up what would otherwise be a very utilitarian vehicle.
This looks more American of a van. It has thag big boxy look, wherras how those Ford Transits adopted that European Mercedes Sprinter look. I like this nissan van!
Whatever you say big guy. The frame is based on the Titan and the engines/transmissions are carry-over. The interior is all Nissan, so what's left? Some headlights and outer sheet-metal?
@@42luke93 Thank You. That NV van looks better every day. Wish it has 4X4 hi-lo option with skid plates and rub rails, or rocker panel protection of some sort. In battle, one could always yank the electronic engine, and put a 350 Chevy in there.
The Nissan NV is a full size van and its competition are Chevrolet Express and Ford E-Series not the Ford Transit. I like the Nissan NV because it has a big hood easy to do maintenance on the engine, not like the Chevy Express or the Ford Econoline van which is hard to do maintenance on the engine. Can someone please make a full size van with dual power sliding doors and stow and go seating?
Pretty cool van but why does Motor Week feel the need to do slalom and 0-60 tests. It's a work vehicle so who cars how fast it it? What matters is how it hauls and if it does it competently and safely. This vehicle needs an efficient diesel.
Easy to convert into a 70's hippy van con figuration. If it had a fold out hinged window on the side door and both back windows, with two crank up roof vents, bed in back with a 20 gallon fresh water tank with a small sink. With a rear locker, 4X4 skid plates on tank and tranny, grill guard, lights and roof rack, one could get quite far and get back. All with a 7000 Lb. tow rating with the V-6. I have an FJ, but am getting too old, this with a small camper may be better for getting old.
For short getaways it would be fine and has a good tow rating for a camper trailer or work trailer. That alone might make it desirable for downsizing life, and might make some $ with a hauling trailer for a supply company or such.
Notes checked. I work for Nissan. Dodge and Nissan collaborated on the "New" Titan way back when, then the entire project was scrapped. There's one or 2 concepts from Dodge that carried over to the new Titan, then they were determined to be absolute shit, and got thrown out as well.
dude, that is such a lie. this vehicle is mostly all Nissan. only partnerships Nissan has in developing these vans is with Cummins and ZF Friedrichshafen AG. You don't believe me? go to their commercial vehicles website and go thru their press releases and there is NO mention of Dodge. what you are referring to is a partnership with Dodge, precisely Chrysler, to build the next generation Titan but failed and did NOT pan out/go thru.
Ever heard of the Nissan NV400?? I think that is a much better looking van than this or their own Japanese market Urvan. Certainly bigger and more versatile
Great van . Mileage about 13 mpg . v8 Faster van ever (S_it and get) Found only thing I do not like is the Drive shift Handle is to low Getting drink you hit the handle. May be bump in the N easy. Or spill your drink Picking up your drink from holder. 2014 nv 2500 .
@landyachtfan79 Ask owners of 2002-2006 Nissan Altimas about engine reliability. But American vehicles can't be reliable, right? That's why you never see Ford vans on the road, always in repair shops?
@Rajin2918 Ford Transit is best in my opinion (too bad we only have the tiny Transit Connect here in the States). I beleive the Ford Transit is the best selling commcerial van ever. And ithey offer a WIDE range of sizes, engines, gearboxes, and drivetrains.
Nissan is collaborating with Mercedes on building engines. I'll give u that. The Titan(next gen.) that you think is a Dodge does NOT exist. the current Titan is still in its 1st generation stage with minor facelifts and tweaks every 2 yrs please post a link from Dodge, Nissan, or a reputable automotive journalism company that's been around for the past 10 years or more. please DONT post any links from automaker-based forums you frequented or damn wikipedia.
That long snout us what makes it BETTER lol Do u know how HARD & annoying it is to change Spark Plugs & ANY maintenance on the Transits, Promasters & Chevy Express & Ford E Series ? Lol You have to take off the whole dashboard off to add oil LOL

Dang, this van gets better gas mileage than the Transit I drive for work. The interior also looks more organized.
My good sir, your attitude has both sold and convinced me(liked and subscribed)

Also you could fry the Nissan engine, then swap in a 350 Chevy!
This work van has so many functions. Imagine a delivery truck, a food truck, or an ice cream truck.
Hearse!
What a beauty....
The Best boxvan Nissan made. Old-school tough 5.7
we are looking into these Nissan trucks at Fedex. there pretty awesome trucks. the also got new Mercedes sprinters as well. they got great power.
This is the best van for me.
Whatever you say big guy. The frame is based on the Titan and the engines/transmissions are carry-over. The interior is all Nissan, so what's left? Some headlights and outer sheet-metal?
Mexico has the NV350, which is the HiAce as a Nissan. This van is only sold in US and Canada
I'd want to get rid of the console/s so one can turn around to get in the back without exiting the vehicle, particularly on the drivers side.
First thing I took out...
cargo specs I think don't come with it.

i like how they combined american workhorse ideas with european workhorse ideas.

I'd be amazed at an E-250 that got anywhere near that mileage.

Ford had a 3/4 ton camper in the 70's. A friend had one. He bought it in San Diego while in the Navy. He was a surf/ski bum.
Check out the YT video "interview with sportsmobile west president alan field" BIG $
Dodge didn't have anything to do with the development of the NV.
This model "nisan nv 4x4" Which car has a suspension? - panfainder? X-tera?
Notes checked. I work for Nissan. Dodge and Nissan collaborated on the "New" Titan way back when, then the entire project was scrapped. There's one or 2 concepts from Dodge that carried over to the new Titan, then they were determined to be absolute shit, and got thrown out as well.
It looks like they just took the Titan and added a rear top cabin in the pick-up bed.
My cousin had the passenger version.. OMG .. I called it the Prez Limo.. all black with dark windows....
nice work Nissan.

@gunnlover Nissan isn't a european car manufacturing company...
I would buy this over a Chevy/Dodge counterpart. Not necessarily over a Sprinter, but it'd be close. Either of those will last.
that patnership was scrapped, it never happened and chrysler never got the car they were supposed to get from nissan
The front looks like an 18 Wheeler.

built in the same county of my old hometown.. madison, MS FTW
@soyntgo4it
Agree with you here -- this is designed exclusively for small businesses.
Такой Ниссан если привезли бы в Россию на его точно покупатели нашли с большей вероятностью

Except V8 lol
Free Candy Maroon!
Comeon Ford why does Nissan have a column shifter and Ford does not? God forbid. At least Nissan has a brain with this type of stuff.
it sounded like you said they actually did it but it never happened
About time there is a full size van that aint American!!
perfect van for a zombie apocalypse. lol

Doesn't look anything like the Titan, it has the nissan grill thats it.
Nice to see Nissan challenge Chevy, whose vans were junk.
RIP Ford E-Series
Welcome Nissan NV
mrmaturitydelinquent Also Ford Transit, and Ram Promaster (Fiat Ducato).
I also like Ford E Series cab chassis like the minibus version.
anyone find it funny seeing this van tilting through the cones?
This would be great with a DIESEL. Even though it's ugly as hell.
Ducatiracer it is fucking ugly I hate these work vans 👎🏻🤬🤬
This van look older than ford van.
not very maneuverable with that long snout
That long snout us what makes it BETTER lol Do u know how HARD & annoying it is to change Spark Plugs & ANY maintenance on the Transits, Promasters & Chevy Express & Ford E Series ? Lol You have to take off the whole dashboard off to add oil LOL
Probably an awesome work van but I hate that the front end is massive. Not the most convenient for city driving. plus its ugly as shit.
CHEVY EXPRESS IS THE BEST.
Daniel Kim Also Nissan NV1500 has long nose than Chevy Express.
American car by Japan brand, like Toyota Tundra.
Why the hell are you yelling? People who shout for no reason are so annoying...
@gunnlover chevy/gmc is absolute trash on every aspect
Made In America, Who can say that!
Какие штаны
I just wish it were less ugly. That's all.
What is with the yelling? So annoying.
