This is my absolute favorite build I have seen yet. The wood, the doors, the layout, it all just fits and feels so much like a home. What an amazing and thoughtful build!! 😍😍

I think this is one of the coolest, practical, most multifunctional, use of a small space in a van build. Loved how he explains the changes made and future improvements to come. Improvise, overcome, & adapt. The wooden door, just wow!
I've seen a lot of van builds and I've watched many, many van tours over the years. This has to be one of my favorites of all time!!! The simplicity and the authenticity of function is what attracts me.
This has got to be my most favorite build yet... That is completely my style. I want to replicate that one. ❤

I love Wilfords idea on the screen door build at the side door, I thought of a pocket door but he has made this where the swinging door works really well and doesn't seem to eat up a lot of room when you open it. I do like the rest of his build, well thought out, going to look into that bamboo mattress 😁
Great set up. I think the older woman he mentioned is actually in Australia and she calls it the mouse house. I like so many things about this van. The slide out bed is brilliant. He has done such a great job.

I follow her on YouTub. I think it is Vancamerawoman. She now has a Yurt and still has her van. She is very nice, much like this gentleman. I like his van also.

This is the best layout I’ve ever seen! I saw the British woman he’s referring to that had similar wooden doors. She’s got an excellent layout as well. That bed design is what we plan to do for our permanent bed build. If anyone has any plans for that type of bed and would like to share, I’d sure appreciate it!
I have the van the woman in England built its awesome too.
I love the happy Jack bed that comes down from the ceiling. Sheets and blankets stay put and your day area is usable for lounging. So simple and space saving.
I like that he doesn't want to mess around, just be able to grab what he needs instead of the extra stuff! He did a beautiful job! The screen door sound is my favorite part, seriously! Thank you!

As a southern boy I really like this guy. Salt of the earth type. For all you people that don’t get it, this is what a down to earth, kind southern is like. Get over yourself if you judge people based on where they are from or how they vote. I’ve been all over the states and we’re more alike than different. Most people care about the world. You’re not unique in that sense. Being kind to everyone is better than any cause you think you’re going to champion. Alienating others for not following your exact path is foolish.
Beautiful van build. He has a lot more storage than I do in mine and that woodwork looks great. I wish him many miles of safe travels.

Hello, you may have considered this already but I have a suggestion regarding the area where you keep the canned food. For easier access, the obvious thing to me would be to cut out large portion of the timber bench on top and put it on hinges, turning the bench top into a lid for the drawer but still usable as a bench. I know you have electrical things on both sides, they could remain there. 4:10

Thank you, Brian for taking the time to produce this video. I got to see this amazing rig at the RTR this year. I really enjoyed your interview, because hearing what the owner has changed and is going to change, gives me the courage to start renovating the 1995 Dodge Ram 3500, I have. It is a professional class B van, but dated. I am really comfortable with the platform and engine in this van and because it has less than 60k on it, it should serve me well for many years to come. Because it is paided off and in good shape I could do a lot of updating andup grades and not spend as much as I would have to spend to purchase a platform to build out from scratch. The tour videos have been a great tool for me. Thank you again for creating them.

If my husband and I were ever to build out a van, it would be like a mini cabin when you walk in because we love wood. We love the look and smell of natural wood. This is a beautiful set up.

Love his build. Perhaps instead of a pull out drawer for his Can goods he could do a flip top on the counter top.
Forgot to say: that itty-bittty dog door is so precious! My favorite thing EVER in a van!
I really like the doorway he built. Overall I love the van camper. But like he said when you run into an issue just set back and think about it for a while. I’ve done that with a lot of projects over the years and it always works out.

I also live full-time in a Ram Promaster Van. The sinks can be expensive. I've found that a $5 Home Depot plastic (5 gl) bucket also works well. Just cut it how deep you want it, cut a hole in the bottom for the drain and plug . Screw the sides of the bucket into the side of the work area. Caulk around the edge of the bucket. Cheap, quick and it will last forever.

I feel I can relate to Wilbur, somewhat. Haste makes waste, generally speaking. Similar to the old adage "measure twice, cut once". This, I know from lots of mistakes. Still learning!
As soon as I saw his side door I thought: this guy is surely a carpenter. No? "Just" a thinker and doer, with skill who likes figuring stuff out. He's got some great ideas in this one!
My own interior in this same van would not look (in my mind) like his, in design. Mine may not match the high quality of his build either. He does have the van I wanted when I went nomadic. You'd be hard pressed to find a nice NV 2500 for that price these days.
Speaking of boxes (cabinets)! I love boxes - BUT, in THIS van, I think a different profile would be be more ergonomically friendly. Examples:
Make lower front corner of the cabinet protrude into the space less. Also, maybe a composite material for lightness. But you're talking more time & labor, and other difficulties AFAIK. The long width cabinet doors - seems like an encroachment on the user space.
Just trying to think outside the box.
I'm not sure "the build" is ever DONE when you have this mindset. When something doesn't feel right, you want to MAKE it right.

Incredible, especially when you see the outside of it after all that he has inside. So beautiful and roomy. He is a master carpenter. So glad his wife doesn't mind him taking off. it would be a shame if she was not happy about him spending time in his man cave. I would live in his man cave in an instant.

Nice build and use of the space, the shower is a great answer so you don't just use all your water up.

I keep my pots and pans, etc. AT A LOWER LEVEL... for two reasons... 1. it keeps the weight at the bottom of the rig so I never worry about being top-heavy and rolling over around corners (not that I'm a speed demon), and 2. it keeps me young to have to constantly bend down. In fact, I do exercises that including bending down. I don't ever want to fall "and I can't get up." I'm sure you've hear that commercial before. Moving the body is ALWAYS good for your health.

I have an NV 2500, and I'm about to do a rebuild. I've been thinking about putting a false door on the inside of one of the doors so I can enjoy a structured screen too! This is just awesome, seeing how Wilford did it already. Great use of space, especially since NV's are shorter in the back.

While i love van life, my issue is it only lowers the cost of 1 thing. Thats why living abroad i think is the better option for cost saving because all your expenses go down. Not just rent/home
I've also seen the woman he mentioned build, beautiful. Also, in a more basic door, build Snow and Curt have a door which I like, gives it a more home feel. Love the little cabin look and feel.

The outside shower I did louisana and east texas missippi alabama , not many places to outside shower, maybe in the desert arizona but in the east way better just to do the truckstop plus that hot water is super soothing after all the driving.
