This van is VERY good, the Coroner company I work for bought three of these vans, and they are the best we've ever had! also we have a laptop in between the driver and passanger seats and yet we still have a lot of room to move around in!
I believe it'd make an awesome school bus, or a shuttle bus. It seats 12 people (including the driver). It has some awesome ideas as to what would make a good full-sized van. I like the fact that it was made in the USA. One thing I think is missing is a diesel engine option. For a vehicle like the NV, I'd say a 2.8 litre diesel engine or a 3.8 litre diesel, depending on the number. The NV1500 would get the 2.8 litre diesel engine, while the NV3500 would get the 3.8 litre diesel engine.
We want Nissan to add dual power sliding doors and a luggage roof rack to the Nissan NV. We want to see a conversion van of the Nissan NV with a 3rd row seat the turns into a bed and a 2nd row seat that stow and go into the floor.
@urparty...I completely agree. They at least need the perks, the smaller vans offer.stow and go would solve the storage issue. 2 power sliding doors would put em over the competition. Since its for large families....maybe an optional entertainment package for the kiddies.
I'll reckon that if it had a diesel engine under the hood, it'd realistically get around 18-20 mpg. For a van of this size and weight, that wouldn't be bad.
I think it's quite attractive. I'm not crazy about the colour, but overall, it's a good looking van. The only thing missing is the option of a diesel engine.
Good if someone paying for gas. 12 miles on the gallon, only what I missed driver position very comfortable. But otherwise very outdated technologically. And I don't understand US Nissan why they created this only for North America, Nissan has perfect model in Europe NV400. Technologically and design absolutely perfect.
Seems like-it should have 2 sliding side doors. They should also be able to be opened with a remote. Im a mom of 8....and my hands are often full. Opening a sliding door on a big van with a big ole sleeping kid in your arms-isn't easy.
3:28 clearly explains two different seat module types 3:38 states that all modules are "identical", AFTER just explaining they are different, and fails to state the four seat fourth row uses 2-dual seat modules 4:42 "I don't know why this vehicle even has a rear view mirror" after demonstrating the ease at which the rear seats can be removed, and complains about rearward visibility because of headrests... IT'S A 12 PASSENGER VAN.... if you're not hauling 12 toddlers, there will be 12 heads in your way, why does it matter? 5:02 "one really nice thing Nissan does here..." is make it easy to put on the wrong seatbelt.
I purchased a Nisson NV200. With more than 4 months on the vehicle, the driver's side seat right side has extreme wear on the side where the rest arm goes up and down. The Nisson dealer said Corporate states NORMAL WEAR. I don't buy it. After owning four Nisson vehicles I refuse to purchase another Nisson vehicle.
Take them seats out toss a couch in there get quigley to slap some 4by on there and off road tired grab the guitar and the amp bam lets go on tour punk rock life
@@shamusstclaire3881 we have this exact van, while mpg is not great we get 15 plus mpg with the van loaded & pulling a loaded 10' trailer. (heavy lumber) we dont complain.....and she tows heavy loads with ease.
Good van, but not as great as described in a video. 3500 model rides like an antique tractor if you dont remove rubber suspension weight supporters in between rear axle and a frame! My semi truck has a better turning radious then my nv3500. You will feel claustrophobic by seating in the far back seats and have van full. Rear seats doesnt recline or fold and super heavy to remove. Van does look ugly if you compaire it to a sprinter, ford or dodge van. Sound system is horrible, I got mine upgrated to JBL speakers, JBL amp and kicker sub under front pass seat. Had to take interior apart and add dynamat xtreme noise damping system that I purchased from crutchfield for $140 / 38 s.f. I believe to keep the road noise down and to get ried of an empty pepsi can feel. Does not come with remote start, entertainment centers DVDs screens or driver speaks into rear speaker system. Van only comes with 4 safety air bag system, 2 in the front and 2 long bags in a roof, one on each side! Does not offer sunroofs. Center rear view mirror is worthless because you cant really see anything in it especially when you have passengers, but side mirrors and good sized and extends for wider towing trailers. Does not offer automatic side close door. Does not offer rear automatic doors. Had to install the bug shield/hood protector on the front of the hood so wife can see where this super long hood ends to prevent hitting things. Entry steps doesnt come stock, and its impossible for kids to climb in without them, Amazon had good alluminum that were priced around $280? Rear seats has no arm rests. It is a gas sucker if you compaire it to a sprinter, diesel ford van or eco boost expedition or new diesel Escalade. Does not offer push start button. Does not offer xenon lights or rain sensor for wipers. Center arm rest is strait from a cheap cargo van, that feels cheap, looks ugly and uncomfortable. I actually had mine wrapped in soft leather to match the seats. Only has one window in the back that can be opened from the bottom at about 2 inches from the van body, in which I believe is an emergency exit as well. Definitely not worth what its sold for! For The Goods: it is a Japanese engendered and American made so it it reliable. Has much less options then any modern automobile meaning less parts to brake, but since its a Nissan it shouldn't brake anyways. Towing capacity. 12 passenger's van. On the frame. Has a titan, armada or the big infinity suv feel when driven...
But it might be illegal to take them out. Have to check in your state. And then the insurance company might say, if headrests came with unit, they better be in place if you have accident.
When trying to carry kids around with luggage or other kid stuff, looks should not matter. Efficiency of moving the stuff is the point. Design is just fine for what it is made for. Diesel would drive cost up but might bring up the MPG. 4WD would be nice in snow states, but again that drives up cost.
He keeps saying Ford or GM, thats not the competition, with that price bracket and the size of it, it would fall into the Sprinter and Transit range. Both those vans are FAR better then this piece of junk. What it is, is Nissan wasn't selling Titans so they have all this stock left over there sitting, they decided to glue all the parts together and make this pile of shit.
The first gen Nissan nv is very very reliable. Easy to get 300k from this van.. it's basically a Titan and those hit 300k easy.. Nissan kept this van very basic to work for a long time without breaking. So why would you say that's bad?
It's a full-sized van made for serious passenger and cargo capabilities only. Way roomier and more versatile than any big SUV out there. Looks don't matter in this class, but I personally find the NV to be an attractive looking vehicle. If you're trying to impress your friends, you'd be way better off with an Armada.
This van is VERY good, the Coroner company I work for bought three of these vans, and they are the best we've ever had! also we have a laptop in between the driver and passanger seats and yet we still have a lot of room to move around in!
What do the customers think about the ride at the back? 😆
I recently saw this car parked close to my house, and I was impressed! That thing looks like a huge monster!
working at a print plant since 1999 to 2024 using from a 2003 to 2007 Chevy Express, TO a 2015 Nissan Cargo NV3500HD.....I hope not to hit anyone!!!

I wish more vans came with a column shifter; I'm glad Nissan stuck with one here.
I started dying laughing at 5:04 when he put on the wrong seatbelt
This is my new favorite van.
+Braulio its not to bad for its size IMO, my father had an old volvo (4 passanger) that had similar consumption

Would it be a major risk to get this van at 130000 miles? Cause both me and my wife love the style of this van and would need it for our family.
when nissan puts the cummins diesel into this it will be an awesome van
When they announce a Cummins four wheel drive NV I am placing my order
The diesel made for Nissan is trash
I'll reckon that if it had a diesel engine under the hood, it'd realistically get around 18-20 mpg. For a van of this size and weight, that wouldn't be bad.
First gen nissan armadas and first gen Infiniti qx56 suvs all have tge 5.6 liter gasoline v- 8 motors or engines underneath them
13mpg avg with v8. 16mpg with v6.
Superb review, Alex. Keep up the good work!

Dude this car is probably inspired by the Armada.
The best video I seen for the nv
Thank you so much for that review, that will be my next car
i like this van...but i would want it in a cargo van
Yeah, I think it's mainly because of the wide roof pillars, making getting in and out more difficult.
when I grow up I will buy this car
This thing is a beast!

Alex good job very informative are your reviews sir.
I can use this Vehicle as a Taxi .i like the design of it .
No AWD, in the northern states would be bad choice, you need AWD, prefer GMC savana 12 passenger with AWD and electronic rear locking differential

I wonder what kind if fuel economy this thing gets?
Bad and worse depending on engine. Surprised they use gasoline instead of diesel on this

Horrid looks and fuel economy. It needs redesign and a diesel engine.
